For generations, we have been practicing certain rituals without knowing their real meaning.

Whenever we try to ask the significance of a pooja or why certain things are done in a particular way, the usual reply we receive from the elders will be, "just follow whatever I am telling you" or "we did not ask such questions to our elders, so stop pestering".

Instead of giving such improper answers, if the elders had taken some time to explain the customs, rituals and their significance, people of today's world (not all, at least a few) would have understood and pass on the same information for generations to come.

I am happy that I came across this book that gives an insight to why certain customs are followed in a set way.
