Yogi from the Himalayas
March 12, 1999
Dear Parents,
Divya conveys her namaskars. By Swami’s Grace here all is going on as usual. Praying that you are all well there also.
News is: that we had a sudden adventure. Word came from Visakhapatnam that a yogi was visiting for two days. He comes from the Himalayas where he lives year round (wearing only a loincloth). The propaganda is that he is over 400 years old! (Generations of families supposedly have visited him over that number of years.) His name is Swami Maha Ananda Avadhoot. He only speaks in Hindi. Anjaneyulu urged Mataji to come to Visakhapatnam to take opportunity to have this great yogi’s Darshan.
Immediately our Susheela, girl Kumari and P. Lakshmi, showed keen interest. As I went that day to Pithapuram (bank work and shopping), Mataji joked, “We are going on an adventure tomorrow. You have recently seen so many saints isn’t it?! So we are leaving you here to look after the place in our absence.” I said, “Fine, as you wish!”
But then at 10:30 PM at night Jnaneswari showed up at my cottage and said, “Be ready at 6 AM tomorrow morning. You’re also coming.” MAY HIS WILL BE DONE!
We left in the new ashram van on 9 March: Jnaneswari, P. Lakshmi, Nageswara Rao, girl Kumari, Susheela and two other devotees from another village. Vinamra was away doing puja program in Kakinada so she didn’t come.
We met the yogi – he is short and stout with shining, firm skin, long mangled white hair and wears only a brown burlap sack around his waist (the type used to pack rice and wheat grains). When one looks in his eyes it seems like he is truly not from this time, but sometime far in the past.

Anyway, he talked on spiritual matters in Hindi (must have full surrender, guru is necessary, all is Divine, etc.) Then Jnaneswari invited him to come to the ashram in Visakhapatnam and he agreed! The next day he came and spent nearly two hours blessing the devotees and talking a little.
My overall impression is that he may be a respected yogi but I don’t feel any connection. He may have developed powers from being in the Himalayas doing tapas so long, but I don’t know about his full realization.
JAI Sai Ram!
Love,
Divya

Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice
A world where magic must be hidden from mankind is a world where mages have no reason to exist. Zara was one of them--a young woman forced to spend her days in confinement, to lessen the risks of outsiders discovering the truth. She was not human. She was, as they say, a living embodiment of a thousand year old curse upon the Kingdom and humanity as a whole. And the only way to handle a curse is to get rid of it--which is precisely what the Kingdom had been doing for centuries--eliminating any being that contained even an ounce of enchanted blood. Zara has lived most of her life with the threat of death hanging over her head, though it never averted her heightening curiosity about magic, nor the abilities innate within her. And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with. It was a chance laced with precarity and destruction, but a chance nonetheless...

Treading Twilight
Reia Welsh was a student Photomancer who attended Decorous Academy for magical knights, typically wouldn't find herself on either end of the bullying stick, which was pretty impressive considering a multitude of authoritative clubs for the social elites happened to oppress and rule the school with an iron fist. Join Reia on her bizarre knight journey. *** And see, as the redhead cowered at the foot of a locker, they petrified him right there and then in a blast of snow-like powder that came out of one of the bully's hands without the single utterance of a spell all there was a blue instantaneous glow...then the kids from Deck 52 walked off all the while goofily wiggling their bodies. "Hey, why don't you dance with us Peter, c'mon do a little dance." "It's just a petrification spell Peter, don't be down..." "Yeah, dude."
