Jungkook was watching a YouTube video and trying to make dinner, trying being the keyword, when the front door opened. He quickly wiped his hands on a serviette before rushing towards the living room.
"You're late today, hyungie-"
Both his words and feet stopped abruptly when he noticed that the person who came home wasn't Taehyung.
Jimin also stood frozen for few seconds before he started to move again. He put his wallet and keys in to the little bowl they have in the living room before removing his jacket.
"Uhh... Tae's not home yet?"
Jungkook didn't answer and just shook his head. In an unsaid agreement, both him and Jimin didn't interact with each other. Of course they couldn't avoid each other completely, as they were staying in the same house. Whenever they did interact, it always when Taehyung was at home.
Taehyung's work finishes earlier than Jimin's so he's the first one to come home everyday. And in the mornings, Jungkook sleeps till bit late and by the time he gets up, Jimin is already left for work.
Jimin gave a nod in acknowledgement and was almost about to go to his room when he got the burning smell. He sniffed few times and was shocked to see Jungkook's face turning in to pure horror.
"Shit!!"
Jungkook turned on his heals and ran back to the kitchen. After a split second debate, Jimin followed him too. He came just in time to see Jungkook frantically trying to save whatever that was in the pan, without success, while hissing everytime his hand made contact with the overheated handle.
Jimin quickly put on the oven mitt, before walking towards the stove.
"Move!" Jimjn said in a tight voice, making Jungkook immediately step away.
Jimin grabbed the pan, carried it towards the sink and opened the tap. He waited till the pan was sufficiently filled with cold water, before closing the pipe.
Jimin then looked back at Jungkook, who seemed to be frozen in the middle of the kitchen, one hand cradling the other. Jimin looked at the other's hands with concern before speaking up.
"Did your hand get burned?"
The question seemed to have snapped Jungkook from his shocked state and he looked down at his own hands. "Uhh.. no?"
Jimin sighed before walking toward the other. "Let me see."
Jungkook wordlessly showed both his palms to the elder and Jimin checked them without touching, as he was sure he's not allowed to do that.

There was only slight reddish patch under the younger thumb and it didn't look serious. Still, Jimin didn't want to take a chance so he quickly went to the cupboard they keep the first aid kit and got the burn ointment out.
"Here." Jimin extended the tube towards Jungkook. "Put some over that red patch, just in case."
Jungkook took it and did as he was told. Jimin watched him for few seconds before looking around at the kitchen counter. He could see the vegetables and kimchi and some other stuff spread over that.
"What we're you trying to make?"
Jungkook again look startled, as he was not used to Jimin initiating a conversation like this. "Uhh... Kimchi stew."
Jimin gave a nod and proceed to wash his hands thoroughly. He then folded the sleeves of his shirt, before picking up the vegetables to cut. "I'll help. Can you cut the tofu?"
"Yeah." Jungkook picked up another knife and started to cut the tofu in to square pieces.
"Taehyung likes it with beef. We can add some, if you're okay with it too. There should be some in the fridge."
Jungkook hummed in agreement before getting the ingredient out of the fridge. They worked silently for sometime, before Jungkook spoke up.
"Thank you."
Jimin gave a soft smile and a nod. "Don't worry about it."
Again there was a silence for few minutes. Jungkook looked at if he wanted to say something but didn't knew how to phrase it properly.
"I didn't do it, you know."
Jimin shifted his gaze away from the pan to give a confused look to the other. "Huh?"
Jungkook gulped down in nervousness before looking at the elder. "I didn't sleep with anyone."
"Oh." Jimin looked lost for words. "Uhh... it's- you don't owe me an explanation."
"I know. I just-" Jungkook paused for a second before continuing. "I know you're trying to look out for hyungie. I just wanted you to know, I didn't betray or cheat on him. I would never."
Jimin gave a nod because he honestly didn't knew what to say. It's not his business and forgetting the same fact has been the biggest regret of his life.
"When hyungie rejected me that day, I was sad and angry. I went to a club with my friends and- I just wanted to forget everything. I wanted to move on with my life, just like I thought he had done with his. I.. uh... made a mistake of starting something wrong, but I couldn't go through with it. Even if hyungie didn't want me, I was not capable of belonging to any one else. Not even for a single moment."

Jungkook's voice rang with truthfulness and Jimin again gave a nod at that. He turned to the stove again, did the finishing touches and switched it off before turning back to Jungkook.
"Tae was helping me with some of my work that day. He got distracted when his wolf sensed what was happening with you and the bastard that he was fighting, managed to get the upper hand for a second. Tae got hit on the head and lost consciousness."
Jimin paused for a second when he heard the gasp the younger let out. Jungkook had his eyes widened in horror while his mouth covered with his palm.
"I've never been so scared for him in my life. Tae had always seem invincible and to see him like that- it was terrifying. And when I got to know the reason for his distraction, I'm ashamed to say that I put the entire blame on you."
"I'm not trying to make excuses for the way I behaved, Jungkook. I knew it was out of line and that you didn't deserve to be treated that way. I was completely wrong to act without knowing what had happened between you two and I deeply regret my actions. I'm so sorry, Jungkook. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me one day, although I can totally understand even if you never did."
"No it's okay-"
"Please let me finish. I've carried this guilt and regret all this time, it has been eating me from inside. I wanted to apologise so many times, but didn't think you would allow that chance for me. If it's okay with you, can I please tell you my side of the story? Like I said, I don't want to make excuses. Just want you to know where I'm coming from."
Jimin waited till the younger gave a nod, before starting to tell the story of how he and Taehyung met. He told about the near death condition the other was, how they formed their friendship and how him and Taehyung had always been protective of each other.
Jimin explained how he blamed Jungkook for all the heartache Taehyung was going through, even before he knew Jungkook's identity. How he wanted Taehyung to be happy, and sad when he didn't seem interested in anyone else. Learning about how Jungkook chose to betray Taehyung, when the latter had been nothing but loyal, was the last straw for Jimin.
"I wish that idiot told me about what happened between you two, God knows I asked him enough times. But it still didn't erase the fact that I judged you without knowing anything about the situation and that I have no one else to blame but myself. I truly am sorry, Jungkook. Please believe me."
Jungkook wiped the tears that had fallen on to his cheek and gave a soft smile to Jimin.
"Thank you for looking after him. And please don't apologise anymore. You did what you thought was right for your friend. I'm happy that hyungie met such kind people here. Maybe.."
Jimin tilted his face at the way Jungkook paused and smiled to himself. "Maybe?"
"Maybe w-we can be such friends one day too."
Jimin laughed softly at that. "Yeah. I'd say there's a very good chance of that."
Both were so focused on their little chat that they didn't hear the front door opening. The sound of Taehyung's voice was what got them out of their bubble.
"Koo!"
"I'm in the kitchen, hyungie!"
Taehyung walked in few seconds later and his face looked confused and surprised at the sight of both Jungkook and Jimin standing in the same part of the house.
He looked back and forth at the duo before walking to Jungkook and giving him a peck. "Hi."
Jungkook blushed a little and whispered a reply. "Hey."
"Aww.. that's adorable." Jimin's voice sounded too sweet with a hint of teasing. "You never kiss me like that these days. Where's my kiss?"
Taehyung's eyes looked as they were about to pop out of their sockets. Taehyung wasn't sure whether Jungkook will get his friend's weird sense of humour and the last thing he wanted was another misunderstanding between them. He gave a death glare to Jimin before turning to look at Jungkook, trying to come up with words to fix the mess.
But to his surprise, Jungkook was giggling quietly, with his mouth covered by his palm. Taehyung blinked few times as this was definitely not a reaction he would have ever predicted. Another muffled laughing sound made him turn to look at his friend.
And Park freaking Jimin, had the audacity to wink at him.
A wink!!

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.
