Taehyung shook the man's hand out of politeness but his eyes looked confused. He was just about to ask the man if they knew each other when Jimin suddenly gasped.
"Oh shit!"
Taehyung turned around to see Jimin have his mouth open in shock. He raised his eyebrows in a questioning manner, but it was the new guy, Bogum, who provided an explanation.
"You must be Park Jimin." Bogum shook Jimin's hand too. "I think I can assume that you didn't had a chance to pass my number to Taehyung-ssi."
Jimin gave out a nervous chuckle, while stealing glances at Jungkook. The younger of course was confused a bit, but he could kind of guess what's the situation is about.
Both Jungkook and Taehyung identified Bogum to be an Omega, a rather beautiful one. He had this naturally friendly and comfortable aura, even without the use of his Omega hormones.
Jungkook didn't like the obvious way he was showing heart eyes to Taehyung and neither did JK. The wolf was feeling strangely territorial despite the fact that his alpha was giving zero interest to the new Omega. Jungkook took a step forward and introduced himself.
"Hi, I'm Jeon Jungkook." Jungkook's voice didn't betray any of the unfriendly emotions he was having, like wanting to pull the man's eyeballs out of their sockets. "Taehyung's boyfriend."
"Oh.." Bogum looked confused for a second. "I was told that he didn't had any-"
"Well, I guess you were misinformed." Jungkook offered the most sweetest smile to the guy. "Happens all the time. He's such a catch, isn't he?"
Taehyung coughed loudly which could have been an attempt to hide his laughter. Jimin looked like he couldn't decide whether to laugh or run for his life.
Bogum looked at Jungkook for few seconds, his gaze having a unreadable expression, like he was doing some calculations in his head. Then the moment passed and he smiled brightly.
"My mistake." Bogum gave a slight tilt from his head in a gesture of apology. "Enjoy the rest of your day."

Jungkook watched patiently until Bogum was out of earshot, before turning to look at Jimin.
"Jimin-ssi."
The younger voice had a deadly threatening tone and Jimin couldn't help but gulp nervously.
"Look, I can explain-" Jimin started off cautiously but Taehyung interrupted him.
"Run, you fool."

"Kookie, listen." Jimin said in a frustrated voice as he followed the younger in to the house. "I made a mistake."
Jungkook stopped walking away and turned to look at Jimin. "Oh, so you didn't meant to introduce hyung to that guy for a blind date?"
"No!" Jimin yelled, and flinched when Jungkook gave him a death glare in return. "I mean Yes! Fuck! Yes, I did that. But that was before I knew about you two."
Taehyung walked in after them and quietly closed the door. He felt bad for his friend but didn't dare to speak against Jungkook. There was no way he would risk turning that wrath in to his direction. Jimin was on his own in this one.
Jungkook had refused to talk to both Taehyung and Jimin all afternoon. He just sat silently, making Taehyung cut the picnic shorter and return home. Jimin followed them too.
Jungkook sighed and gave a nod. He knew he was being unreasonable. Jimin was not at fault here. Jungkook was just so angry with the circumstances that led to such a unfortunate thing to happen. And also, he was a little worried about what would have happened, if Jimin had found the chance to pass that phone number to Taehyung.
Jimin felt even more bad when Jungkook looked dejected like this. Honestly, he would rather have an angry Jungkook than a sad one. He walked closer and put his arm around Jungkook's shoulder.
"Oh, come on, you big baby." Jimin said in a cooing voice and Jungkook huffed in response. "Don't be upset. That idiot is completely whipped for you so don't have to worry about any competition."
That kind of made Jungkook smile a bit and he slid from under Jimin's arm, so that the elder would not see that smile. "Yeah, whatever."

"Nooo... don't be like that." Jimin whined and pulled the younger in to a bone crushing back hug. "Say that we are good before you go."
"Hyung-"
"Say it! Or I'll not let you go to your room."
"God, you're such a goof ball!" Jungkook exclaimed in a mock annoyed voice, barely suppressing his laughter. "Okay, okay. We are good."
Jimin chuckled happily at that. He let the younger go and watched till the bedroom door closed before turning around to give a stink eye to Taehyung, who looked rather amused at this whole exchange.
"That went well, I suppose. " Taehyung said in a teasing voice and Jimin huffed at that.
"Yeah. No thanks to you, asshole."
Taehyung laughed loudly at that. "I'm sorry, Chim. You know I'll protect you from even the deadliest Mafias but when it comes to him, you're on your own."
Jimin let out a string of profanities which made Taehyung laugh even more, until inally, Jimin gave up and went to his own room.

Jungkook was deep in thoughts as he remembered what had happened at the picnic. Taehyung and Jimin doesn't know it but Jungkook met Bogum once more after the first encounter.
Flashback..
Jungkook was in the washroom when he met Park Bogum for the second time for the day. The latter had that calculating look in his eyes again, as they both stared at each other for few seconds.
"Hey, sorry about earlier." Bogum said with a smile and Jungkook managed to smile back after a great effort.
"Don't worry about it, you didn't know."
"Yeah, Jimin-ssi said that he didn't had any significant other."
"Oh." That was when Jungkook started to make murder plans for Park Jimin.
"Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for a bit and see."
Jungkook blinked in confusion. "Excuse me?"
"You guys are just boyfriends, right? It might not work so I'll just wait a bit." Bogum gave a smile to Jungkook but the latter could see the evil glint underneath this time. "Like you said, he's such a good catch."
Jungkook was fuming at the other's words. Bogum was implying that Jungkook and Taehyung might not last. Ironic, when they were chosen by the moon goddess to be together forever.
"For your information, he happens to be my mate too."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah. So I think you're wasting your time here."
"Hmm.. I don't think so." Bogum had dropped the fake smile and was now showing his true emotions on his face. "If you two are mates, where's your mate mark? If an alpha doesn't want to mark their mate, that means they are not yet sure about it, right?"
"That's because-" Jungkook stopped mid sentence.
What could be possibly say to the other? He could feel JK retreating back in to their shared mind too. The blunt insult was too hurtful for Jungkook's wolf to take. Specially when he had been thinking about the same thing for days now.
"I thought so." Bogum gave a smug smile to the other. "All the more reasons for me to hang around, I guess. See you."
With that, Bogum walked out of the washroom, leaving Jungkook alone with his worrying mind.
End Of Flashback..
Why hasn't Taehyung marked him yet? That question had bugged Jungkook from that moment onwards. They had been intimate for few times now too. What could possibly be stopping Taehyung from taking the next step.?
All the insecurities and doubts that Jungkook and buried deep in his heart, managed to crawl out again. Bogum was someone that definitely could pose a strong competition. The man was beautiful, friendly and outgoing. The kind that can form friendships in a blink of an eye.
Jungkook hated how it made him doubt Taehyung's loyalty and intentions. But he'll be damned if he let negative thoughts push them apart once more. And he's was done assuming things on his own, without talking it out with Taehyung.
He will ask about it from Taehyung tonight itself.

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)
