It's the next day and me and Dire were about to leave. We left the house and I closed the door behind me. I said as we started walking but this time a different direction. Dire asked. I said raising one brow. Dire opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out just than a sigh. I said. I interrupted Dire because something caught my eye. I asked while squinting my eyes, to get a sort of clearer vision. Dire said shrugging his shoulders. I said pointing with my finger.
I got closer to the object. It was a small note with a clout nail trough it, which kept the note hanging on tree it was hanging on. I removed the clout nail and grabbed the note and read it. 'If you're reading this, please come to the lake. We need your help.' Dire asked in disbelief after he read it too. I asked turning to Dire. Dire said. I said and we started walking towards the lake. At least... I hope we still know the way hehe...
I was tiiiired from walking and searching for 40 minutes. But at last, we found the lake thank god. We stood near the edge of the lake, waiting for this mysterious person to show up. Dire said whispering. I shaked my head no while my arms were crossed over my chest. I heard suddenly. Me and Dire got a little startled and looked behind us, to be met with a... a... A GHOST RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I felt very light headed all of a sudden and just collapsed on the ground. After that it was just all darkness.
I started waking up again and slowly gained consciousness. I parted my eyes and could see I was in my bed back at the house, with Dire sitting on a chair next to my bed. But that thing behind me scared me the most and caused me to jolt up and back away. I said with wide eyes. Dire said putting his hand on my shoulder. I relaxed a little and looked at the ghost. I now had the time to look closely at the ghost. It was a ghost man who looked around the age of 30 and was wearing regular pants and a lumberjacks blouse. I said. Dire said. The man said. He said a little down. I said softly. " He said and took a deep breath.

Ryan explained.
I asked raising a brow. Ryan said. Dire said smiling. I said with a serious tone. Ryan said enthusiastically. I said. Ryan asked. I said and then his smile dropped. He asked a little nervous. Dire said. Ryan said with a slight innocent face. I said emphasizing the word 'is'. Ryan asked calmly. I took a deep breath before I began talking.
I said and let a tear roll down my cheek. Ryan just looked at me with a sad look while I was staring at him, hoping he would say yes. Ryan said with a slight smile and I chuckled a little.
Ryan said. I said and let more tears escape out of joy. Ryan said smiling. I turned to Dire, who had a wide smile on his face, and hugged him and he hugged me back. Dire broke the hug and looked at Ryan. Dire asked, getting straight down to business. Ryan explained. I said and left the room, leaving Dire and Ryan in the room.
After I closed the door, I grabbed my phone and called John. He picked up in a few seconds. I said. John asked. I asked rubbing my neck. John said. I said. John said. I began talking and explaining.
I explained everything about Ryan and about the zapotron. John said and then I heard shuffling sounds. As if he was searching through papers or something. After a few minutes, the shuffling sounds came to an end. John said with a light chuckle. I asked curiously. John said. I said with a smile. John said and then hang up. I waited for 10 seconds and received a notification. It was a photo from John of the blueprint. I put my phone away and walked back in the room where Dire and Ryan were.
I began. Dire said confirming. I said. Ryan asked with hope. I said looking at Ryan. Ryan said enthusiastically and left the house, going through the wall. Is it actually that bad to be a ghost? Cuz you get to do cool stuff though. Me and Dire looked at each other at the same time with a smile on our faces. Dire said. I said with confidence. Me and Dire started thinking of a plan to find the missing parts in a easier way.

As the 20 minutes were passed by, me and Dire had left the house, on our way to the lake. When we arrived there, I saw Ryan but there were more ghosts behind him, presumably his friends he was talking about. There were 4 other ghosts. Ryan came floating towards us and stopped in front of us. Ryan said pointing to each when telling their names while his friends were floating towards us. Brandon said with a warm smile. Dire said while smiling. I said explaining. Ryan asked. Dire said with a frown. Dennis said. Nathan said and we all started walking towards the house.
After a good 15 minute walk, the small wooden house was in sight.Scott said.Nathan said. Brandon looked through the window and then backed away. Brandon said. I tried opening the door but I couldn't because it was jammed. I hit the door with my shoulder a few times but the door remained jammed. Dire said and closed his eyes, concentrating. He then turned into his werewolf form. He took a step back and then rapidly smashed himself through the door. The door fell on the ground, making a loud thud sound. Dennis said staring with wide eyes. Dire said while chuckling. Ryan said while he started searching around.
I also started looking around but didn't find anything after I searched the area I was searching. Then I saw that there was a basement hatch on the floor. I opened the hatch and revealed a basement. Scott stood next to me and looked at me. He said with a smile and he walked downstairs, and I followed him. I flipped the light switch on so we could see better. There were chains on the walls. I bet the killer kept his victims chained up here. There were also a few open storage boxes. Scott was already searching the second box and I was searching the last one but didn't find anything. Then I noticed something on the concrete floor.
I kneeled down and inspected the floor. It was like the floor wasn't even. There was a small bump as if someone dropped cement on the floor and let it dry. Wait... This can't be... I yelled. He asked rushing to me. I said pointing. Scott murmured but then just stopped talking. I immediately grabbed my rifts edge and began smashing on the bump on the floor. Small concrete pieces were coming off, little by little. After hitting the bump numerous times, there was a crack. I could remove the rest of the dried cement, so I just grabbed the pieces and tore them off. After that, a small box was revealed. I grabbed the box and dusted the small concrete pieces off. I opened the box and saw the... Zapotron!
I heard Scott gasp but I just stared at it in awe. So looks like the killer made a hole in the ground to place the box in there, then next put cement over it so that no one could find it. Scott said joyful. I stood up and looked at Scott with a bright smile. I said proudly and quickly ran back upstairs, where the rest was still searching. Scott said with a wide smile, catching everyone's attention.. Dennis said walking towards us with the others behind him. Ryan said. I grabbed my phone and opened the picture. I showed it to Dire, who was still in his werewolf form. I said. I could see Dire was looking closely at the first part we would be searching for. He sniffed a few times and then looked up. Dire said and began walking, with the rest following him...

This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. Right as Rage
Only 15 years have passed since the miscreant god, Villi, stole magic from the gods and gave it to mortals. In response the mortals seem to be doing their best to squander this gift. The Kingdom of Abrune regulates it, the church of the Sacred Hierarchies outright condemns it, but one 'wildman' from across the sea begins his journey after being cursed by it. Vakdragnar's curse manifests when he loses his temper. It has driven everyone he’s ever cared about away from him. Out of options and money, he travels to the city of Tirough and quickly finds himself on the wrong side of the law. He is persecuted despite his intentions to do good. How can you stand against evil if everyone you’re trying to protect thinks you’re the villain? And if this curse is truly a part of him now, what if they’re right? **************************************************************************************************** Right as Rage is a story I’ve been excited to write for some time now. I hope everyone is as excited to read it. This story is going to be told over several arcs, with each arc containing 7-12 chapters, and an interlude or two each. I plan on submitting new chapters once a week on Tuesday evenings.

This group of twenty-five finds themselves teleported to the land of Exandria, a world of swords and magic, of elves and orcs, of dungeons and dragons. Follow Brian and his newfound allies as they learn to become professional adventurers, complete contracts for the Guild, and maybe find a way home. To honor the source material's Dungeons and Dragons roots, I will be rolling dice throughout the development of this story. Everyone has a character sheet. From combat encounters to social interactions, everything that can be rolled will be rolled. See how a natural 1 can turn the tide of a battle, how a successful intimidation check can subvert a fight, or how deception can reveal critical info.
