My money was barely able to cover all of the expenses for our groceries... I'm just glad the place I'm staying at is a free accommodation for adventurers cuz if I had to pay rent, I'd be bankrupt in a day...

I only have 26 mora left... why must this world be so cruel to me. But at least I have Xiao. After bagging up all of my groceries I walk up the stairs leading to the Feiyun Commerce Guild to see a circle of people surround the center.

I quickly ran over to see what was happening and in the ring I found the two adventurers who were meddling with us the other day and... Xiao ???

Panicked, I quickly ran into the circle to grab Xiao. I pull him closer to me and whisper in his ear.

"What are you doing here ? I thought I told you to stay inside !"

"I got bored so I decided to look for you. Then I overheard these two scum talking about meeting us the other day. They were calling you a weirdo for hanging out with the Adepti and normally, I wouldn't let this affect me, but since it was you they were trash talking, I couldn't simply let this slide."

"Xiao ! Don't fight with random people ! Look, some people in this world are just mean and awful so you have to be the bigger man and not engage !"

"But what if I engaged to you ?"

"Ah— D— Now is not the time for flirting Xiao !"

Xiao smiles and laughs and me getting flustered over his comment and I try pulling Xiao away from the crowd and back to our house.

"Oh before we go, those adventurers are apparently from the Feiyun Commerce Guild and are talking about suing us for threatening them. Whatever that means..."

Shocked I turned to Xiao.

"Th-their from the Feiyun Commerce Guild ? One of the most prestigious guilds in Liyue ?"

Xiao nods.

"And th-they plan on suing us ?"

"Apparently they already filed a report so the trial will be held two days from now."

Oh god... I don't even have any money any more and now the Feiyun Commerce Guild, of all people, are suing us ?

"Let's just go home Xiao.. I'm too tired to be thinking about this right now..."

As we walk away we hear this two adventurers saying things like 'That's right ! You run away !" But to be honest, I couldn't care less.

We get back to the house and step inside. I lay the groceries down on the table and get cooking. Xiao comes into the kitchen after I start cooking and asks.

"What are you cooking ?"

Tired from today, I don't answer and instead just point to the recipe I'm following.

"Are you mad at me ?"

I stop cooking for a second and turn to see his face. His eyes look sad, like a tear is about to form. His expression is probably the saddest I've ever seen Xiao. Guilty, I reply.

"No, I'm just tired is all."

"Tired because of what I did, right ?"

I bite my lip.

"That's half the reason... but I just want you to know I still love you, being millions of mora in debt and possibly never being able to achieve my dreams and also most likely dying from disease after being kicked out of this house and living on the streets will not in any way, shape, or form, will change my love for you."

"I'll stop bothering you now."

Xiao walks away as I continue cooking.

I finish making our dinner and call for Xiao to come eat. But I get no response so I try looking for him around the house.

My heart sinks when I can't find him anywhere.

What is he trying to do this time ?

I run out of the house and immediately run to the Feiyun Commerce Guild to once again, see a crowd of people circling the area.

I quickly run over to the commotion and I overhear Xiao challenging the two adventurers to a duel. Obviously the refuse but Xiao insists, even going as far as to threaten them.

I run into the circle and grab Xiao's arm and speak in a hushed tone.

"Xiao ! What are you doing ?"

"I'm trying to make it up to you but stopping the from suing you."

"Xiao, really it's fine you don't need to make it up to me ! I never was mad at you and I never will be. I mean how could I ? Look at your pretty little eyes and cute smile and— now's not the time for that but... I still love you. Always have, and always will."

Xiao starts to smile. Gosh why is he so pretty—

"I'm not certain of anything in the world, but one thing that I am 100% sure of is that my love for you will never change. Okay ?"

Xiao nods.

I pull Xiao into a hug, unbothered by the crowds of people staring at us.

"What's all this commotion ?"

A sharp voice erupts from behind us. The people in the crowd start to part to reveal a girl wearing purple clothing with cat ears ? I never knew people like Diona were also here in Liyue...

"Uh... pardon me for asking but... who are you... ?"

"I am Keqing. Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing. Now tell me what's the reason for all of this ruckus ?"
