《MOAS ; Coming Home》Many Heads, One Tail

The morning after catching Lash, I walk through The Playground hallways with Lincoln and Rosco walking in-between us, and May walks past us without saying a word.
"She's been giving me the hate stare since I got here. I had to sleep with one eye open last night." Lincoln admits to me.
"But you slept." I state.
"Yeah, for the first time in a long time. I've been running long enough to appreciate it, secret underground base no one knows about, even if you all live on top of each other like Keebler elves." Lincoln explains.
"It's one roof, but it's big. Lots of space. Not that you need to keep your space." I explain to him as we stop walking, and I pick Rosco up in my arms.
"I know. Uh... I'm sorry I moved in. I hope it's not weird." Lincoln says to me.
"Weird?" I ask him confused.
"We kissed. That happened. Do we need to talk about it?" Lincoln asks me.
"Nope. Why don't we just see what happens?" I suggest with a smile.
"Will that happen again?" Lincoln smiles at me.
"Planning takes the fun out of it. Plus, you know, you'll have tougher decisions to face, right? You can't just stay here. Coulson only lets people in the base who have a role in his game plan." I explain to him.
"Are you here? Permanently?" Lincoln asks me.
"Honestly..." I trail off as I put Rosco on the floor, and he walks off "... I have no idea. I wasn't planning on staying this long, but here I am." I admit to him.
"Well, neither of us have much to go back to, we tried to the 'citizen role', it didn't pan out as well as we hoped." Lincoln says to me.
"If we decided to, I still have people I can pull favours from, they wouldn't mind helping out with new I.D's and things." I explain to him.
"'If we decided to'?" Lincoln smiles at me, and I smile back, understanding what I just said.
"Me, you, we, same thing, Sparky." I tell him before I walk away.
After Coulson gathers May, myself, Skye, Fitz, Simmons, Hunter, Mack, Morse and everyone else at S.H.I.E.L.D. along with Lincoln in the lounge, Coulson sent me a briefing memo of our objective before hand, and right now he is walking down the stairs and into the lounge, and he immediately looks to me and steps aside.
"It's there if you want it." Coulson says to me, and I hesitate before I step in front of everyone, and almost everyone gives an applause.
"I wouldn't print my badge quite yet." I admit to them as the applause dies down "Today, we're launching Operation Spotlight. The objective... To peer into every shadowy corner of the ATCU. The last few days have been hard. What happened with Dr. Garner is tragic, but it has also created a rare moment of opportunity for us. The ATCU brought Dr. Garner's containment module into their research facility. S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to use that as a way to gain access. Going in on the ground will be Morse, Hunter and Skye. Quarterbacking from Zephyr One will be Mack and myself. Handling extraction... May and-" I try to say, but May cuts me off.
"-Him." May looks to Lincoln, and Lincoln looks to May and then myself confused.
"... Okay." I show a small smile at Lincoln whom looks nervous "I guess the new guy will gain a firsthand look of our operations with Agent May. Let me be clear. I want to know everything... What's inside the facility, how close they are to this cure they've been working on, which Inhuman's they're holding and where they came from, and finally, what it is the ATCU actually wants with them. Questions?" I ask them.

"Yeah." Skye speaks up "Why now?" She asks me, and I look to Coulson, and Coulson steps up the everyone.
"Because I think the head of the ATCU finally trusts me. I'd like that feeling to be mutual." Coulson explains.
"Let's get to work." I tell everyone.
As I stand on the deck of Zephyr One with May, Mack and Lincoln standing not too far away from me, we work on getting Skye, Hunter and Morse into the ATCU.
"Incoming data upload from Rosalind's phone." Mack tells me as everything from Price's cellphone comes up on the wall computers.
"Let's wake up the ATCU I.T. ASAP." I say to them as I stand at a computer and begin to look into the ATCU with the information from Price's cellphone.
"Did you just hack the ATCU?" Lincoln asks me confused.
"Of course not, but the containment module broadcasts some pretty intense encrypted homing signals. You put it inside a corporate office, and it'll wig the I.T. department out real good." I explain to him before a cellphone to my right begins to ring, and Mack walks over, clears his throat before he picks it up with his left and answers it.
"F.B.I. cyber investigative task force. How may I help you, Mr. uh... Wilson? What exactly is going on over there..? Well, multiple agency servers have been attacked in the last few minutes, and the traffic traces back to your I.P.'s... We've already, uh, dispatched a rapid-response unit to your location. Please, just cooperate fully. Should be fine..." Mack explains as he refers to Skye, Hunter and Morse, and Mack chuckles lightly "... I can assure you, they're our absolute best." He assures them.
After Skye, Hunter and Morse enter the ATCU facility, we listen through their coms on the conversation as I tell Hunter what to say technology wise.
"Listen, Agent Phillips, our systems check out perfectly, okay? We're showing no signs of a breach. I don't think you'll be necessary here. I think that it was a glitch" The ATCU agent explains to Hunter.
"A glitch, yeah. Of course it looks like a glitch. That's the point. You congratulate yourself, crisis averted, then go home, never noticing the polymorphic root kit buried deep inside your system until hackers activate it to bypass that sweet, stateless multi factor authentication code you are so bloody proud of." I say through my com, and Hunter repeats me word by word to The ATCU agent.
"Red Sox fan?" The ATCU agent asks Hunter.
"Red coats, actually." Hunter states.
"This guy does not look like FBI." The ATCU agent says, most likely to Skye and Morse.
"He wasn't. Dane here crashed the Pentagon servers, Mossad's, Ashley Madison. He's the best consultant we have. Otherwise, he'd be in jail or... I'd have shot him by now. If he says that you have a problem, listen." Morse explains to The ATCU agent.
"Our system's airtight." The ATCU agent states, and Hunter scoffs.
"Well, if your system's so secure, how'd your staff's credentials leak out?" Skye asks The ATCU agent as she pulls up an I.D. of Price from her cellphone.
"What? No, no, no, no, no, no, no. There's no way someone got past our software." The ATCU agent refuses.
"Who said anything about software? We think hardware was smuggled in. You called, detecting some sort of broadcast?" Hunter asks The ATCU agent.
"The ATCU security is way too strong." The ATCU agent states.

"Was nothing brought into this facility in the last 24 hours?" Skye asks The ATCU agent.
"No. Our employee's keys don't make it past security. We haven't brought in anything, except the, uh..." The ATCU agent trails off as we hear a deeply inhaled breath "... Oh, no. I need to make a phone call." He exhales.
As The ATCU agent, now known as Steve, leads Skye, Hunter and Morse into the I.T. room to hack into the system, we hear everything they say through their coms.
"So sorry, Steve-O. Nothing worse for an I.T. guy than someone logging into a terminal. Makes you feel violated, doesn't it?" Hunter asks Steve.
"How do we know he's not just looking for exploits to get into our system when it goes back to being a black hat?" Steve asks Skye and Morse.
"Oh, there's no going back for Dane." Skye states.
"Hunter, repeat me word by word." I tell him "But I am here to find the exploits, and I'm gonna need a log-in to determine if the trojan horse hardware emitted a signal pulse that allows access to your UDP or TCP ports, mate. Have you checked that yet?" I say, and Hunter repeats word by word.
"You can use a command prompt to enter a guest username." Steve says.
"And unwittingly give us remote access." I smile before I speak into my com "Okay, Hunter, type this in... 'C', colon, forward slash, 'system', Forward slash, 'request user'..." I tell him, and I hear slow clicking over my com "Hunter. Oh, god. Hunter. Please tell me you know which one is forward slash." I say to him hopefully.
"Yes. Typing." Hunter mumbles "I'm just helping your sluggish code keep up." He says to Steve.
"Hilarious." Steve states sarcastically.
"And the username." I say to him, and he already knows it as he picked it.
"The username, 'God save the Queen'." Hunter says aloud, and Mack looks at me confused.
"Yeah, I let him pick it." I sigh as the ATCU system begins to come up the wall computers "May, you're up." I tell her, and May walks off the deck without a word.
"Agent May said she wants you with her on this, yeah?" Mack asks Lincoln.
"Yeah." Lincoln looks after May leaving.
"Well, then, I suggest you move your ass, Sparky." I smile as I look over him.
"Your enjoying this, aren't you?" Lincoln smiles at me.
"Little bit." I smile at him before he goes to leave, but I take the collar of his shirt with my right hand and peck a kiss on his lips "Be carefull." I tell him as I let him go, and he smiles at me before he leaves. I then look over at one of the wall computers to see the different floors of the building that we downloaded.
"Morse, enhanced specimen control: North, stairs at the end of the hall, three floors down in the science division. Ringing your phone now." I tell Morse before I look to Mack, and he taps a keyboard before we hear a cellphone ringing over the coms.
"My superiors on Pennsylvania Avenue. I need to step away for a moment to give them my full report." Morse explains as she answers her cellphone.
"Okay." Steve says to her.
"Check that section. See how many Inhuman's they're keeping in there. And grab any samples of the potential cure. Now all Hunter has to do is run his mouth and waste time." I explain to Morse.
"Oh, he excels at that." Morse says to me as we follower her com tracker in the building and she comes a remotely locked door "Boss?" She asks me as I type on the keyboard to hack into the lock, and the door unlocks "Thank you." She thanks me.
"Not your boss." I release a light sigh.
After following Morse's tracker to the Enhanced Specimen Control, her tracker stops moving after she enters the room.
"Andrew isn't here. Guys, are you sure this is the right area?" Morse asks myself and Mac.
"That's the place." I assure her confused.
"Well, there are no Inhuman's being held here. Let Coulson know. And as far as a cure, it doesn't look like they're taking tissue samples, studying cell response. Not in here, anyway." Morse explains as her tracker slowly moves.
"If they're not working on a cure in there, then what are they doing?" I ask her confused.
"Wait. boss, anything on medications they've compiled for study? Because I'm not positive, but those look an awful lot like fish-oil pills." Morse says to me, and I look to Mack.
"I'll look." Mack sits at a computer and begins to search through the ATCU database.
"Uh, people, it's time to download everything we can and make our getaway." Hunter turns his com on "Our friend Mr. Banks has just showed up, and I do not have a handkerchief to cover my face... And that would be weird, anyhow." He explains.
"Copy that." I tell him before turning to the crew " I need everything off their system right now!" I tell everyone.
"Boss, you gotta see this." Mack says to me, and I walk over to him before reading the ATCU data and inhaling a rigid breath.
"They're not studying medication, Morse. They're administering them, giving mandatory supplements to all their employees. 'To prevent infection'... Soldiers, office workers. And... 'any public witnesses'." I read out loud "Oh my god,.." I sigh in horror "... They're playing the odds, giving Terrigen to as many people as they can. They're not trying to cure Inhuman's, they're turning them." I say it shock "Someone get Coulson on the line, now!" I tell anyone before I tap into the Quinjet coms.
"May. Skye, Hunter and Morse may need extraction sooner than we thought." I tell her.
"Copy that." May tells me.
"Mack, I need you to open and lock those doors to get Skye, Hunter and Morse out of there, find an alternate route close to Morse." I tell Mack.
"Copy that." Mack tells me.
"Where is Coulson!" I demand from the crew.
"He wouldn't pick up, but we've sent the data." One of the crew tells me.
"Then lets play the waiting game." I tell them before I pull my right hand through my hair.
As Mack works on getting Skye, Hunter and Morse out of the building, I look up one of the last files we pulled up on the Inhuman's.
"Connection's down, May said she was a minute out." Mack walks over to stand beside me.
"Good. Last file we pulled... A catalog of all the Inhuman's they turned and put into stasis. But-" I try to say, but Mack cuts me off.
"-Let me guess. They didn't put them all in stasis." Mack says to me as an ATCU agent comes up. Giyera.
After Coulson and Price contacted us and told us that Gideon Malick was behind almost all the data we gathered without Price and her men knowing, I am now on coms with Coulson and Price as Banks leads Skye, Hunter and Morse out of the ATCU facility.
"He'll lead them to the Northwest parking lot." Price states.
"You hear that?" Coulson asks me.
"Already there." May says to me over coms.
"May is en route." I assure Coulson.
"... Got them." May assures me.
"Then lets go home." I tell them.
After May, myself, Skye, Hunter, Mack, Morse and Lincoln arrived back at The Playground, we are now standing in the lounge with Coulson, Fitz, Simmons amd Price as Price explains to us how she met Malick and everything she knows about him up to this very moment.
"He recruited me in '01. I met him when his company was consulting on a program at-" Price tries to say, but Simmons cuts her off.
"-At NASA." Simmons states.
"Yes, how did you..." Price trails off as Fitz and Simmons lays down pictures of what looks like an evolution pattern starting with the NASA logo, and it ends with the H.Y.D.R.A. symbol...

A Broken World [Dropped Pending Rewrite]
This work has been dropped- because I am rewriting it. Look forward to the new and improved "A Broken World," now available HERE on Royal Road! Three thousand years ago, Demonic creatures invaded the world. Though their power seemed irresitable, a band of heroes managed to steal the knowledge of summoning rituals and worlds from them and created, "The Millenial Summoning." A powerful magic that would bring forth a being from another world with the power to change the world forever. The first being summoned became known as "The Speaker," and he brought the power of the Gods with him. Teaching prayers and invocations that blessed humanities legions and began to push back the demons, founding of the "The Church of the Spoken Word" rose to power and a stalemate was reached. Two thousand years ago, that stalemate was broken by the second casting of "The Millenial Summoning," and the arrival of "The First Sorceress," who taught humanity the basics of magic and enchanting. With the power of the Sorceress, the mages, and the priests the tide turned and the Demonic hordes began to be shoved back, signaling hopes of a golden age for mankind. One thousand years ago, the hopes of final victory and a new dawn for mankind were dashed by traitors who slew the participants of the ritual and took their places, using the ritual to bring forth a godlike being from the demons home world, "The Demon King," for no human knew his name, erased millenia of growth reducing humanity to barely a fragment of its former glory. Now the ritual is being cast again, and a new being is being summoned... In our world, after nearly two decades of studious work, Luke Jaeger is making his dream come true. Working and going to school full time, sacrificing his health and social life in his youth, Lucas obtained Doctorates in genetics and virology, as well as associate degrees in business and accounting. The modern world is not easy, and despite it nearly driving him mad from stress, this was the bare minimum he needed to be approved for a business loan to start a company focusing on commercial genetic therapy. Despite the challange of getting his business running, Lucas feels that his work has finally paid off. Lucas's car never left the banks lot, nor was Lucas ever seen again in our world.
