Y/n's pov
I woke up in a comfy bed which is interesting since I'm used to sleeping in the cold caves of Mistral. As I tried to get up I felt a sheering pain in my back. I look over as I fall back down and my wings have been ripped apart. That damn hailstorm. As I lied back down I heard a voice from the dark room:
(Familiar)???: Hey Y/n you ok? don't get up. You're hurt pretty badly.
Y/n: Who...who are you...
Blake: Well that's rude. Can't remember your childhood friend?
Y/n: Oh Blake! I'm...I'm sorry.
Blake: I'm joking with you Y/n.
Y/n: Oh...ok.
???: So you do know him after all Blake.
Y/n: Who are you?
Yang: The names Yang. Cutie❤️
Oh Christ she's definitely going to try to rape me later.
Blake: Y/n what are you doing all the way out here? Last place I saw you was...
Y/n: You really thought you could lose me...I thought you were joking... heh...

I pulled off my neck a crescent moon necklace and tossed it to Blake.

My voice got noticeably saddened.
Y/n: It was my fault wasn't it. That's why you left... well sorry. Ain't nothing I can do to fix it.
Blake just stared at you. Looked like she'd cry if she wasn't holding back.
???: Wait what happened? Yang do you know?
Yang: I'm just as lost as you Ruby. Blake what happened between you two?
Blake: A while ba-
Y/n: DAMMIT I SAID NOTHING HAPPENED!
They looked at you startled as you realized you were beginning to flare up.( part of your semblance is your dragon parts. Via wings,claws, and tail as well as horns catch fire. )
Y/n:(calms down) sorry...
I got up out of the bed put on my hoodie, grabbed my weapon, and opened the window. I got up on the ledge.
Blake: Y/n what are you doing?!?!
Y/n: Leaving...
With struggle I took flight. As I flew away I could've sworn I heard Blake mumble something.
Blake:(mumbling) I didn't mean it...

The Coles are probably the definition of a small dysfunctional family, even if they weren’t the worst in existence; they would probably be lauded as an example of the term. The Coles were a small family though. The father, Oliver Cole, was an asshole ex-football jock who bounced around in small paying jobs after wasting most of his life drinking, drugging and whoring. The daughter, Stacy Cole, was smart, but had many issues including anger, trouble with authority, and occasional suicidal thoughts, and was kicked out of many a school for disruptive behaviour. The son, Mike Cole, was innocent, and tried his best to be kind to anyone and everyone, however his own speech impediment, and slow nature only aided people to bully and belittle him, including his own father. The Coles were indeed a dysfunctional family. At least they were, until they got to the small town near the border between the United States and Canada, Sanguine. Welcome to Sanguine. You will stay. With the exception of the first chapter, each chapter only follows one character. The first chapter is the only chapter in which I will include 'Sides' where it follows a different character. This is a short Lovecraftian story, it won't go above seventeen chapters. Note: the book cover is my first attempt, it might not even remain like it is, I was just tired of seeing the standard 'no cover' thing on it.
