《stigma | minsung》107

minho hung up the call with jisung before the latter could have a chance to respond to him.
jisung sat there, completely baffled by minhos words.
is he really coming? he can't come. can he?
he has to work...
there's no way he could come...
when would he even come?
these thoughts kept rattling around jisungs head, making him think the worst.
he tried to make sense of it. jisung tried to control his overwhelming thoughts, but they became unmanageable.
hearing minho was coming to malaysia worried jisung. he didn't want the boy to see him in his current state.
in jisungs eyes, he looked like a wreck. jisung lacked sleep, he hardly ate, and he devoted all his time and energy into helping his mother.
jisung knew he wasn't the only one who lost someone. sure he lost his father, but his mother lost the love of her life.
in the same way jisung could not imagine losing minho, he knew his mother never wanted to lose her husband, jisungs father.
it dawned on jisung that maybe he was staying in malaysia, not to help his mother entirely, but to avoid minho.
if he avoided minho, he could blame a breakup on this distance. if he returned to korea, they could end for other reasons, reasons jisung would never be able to handle.
jisung did miss minho though. he actually really wanted to see the boy, but he feared what minho would think of him when he came.

jisung switched off his phone and tried not to think too much. he did as minho said and tried to rest, but he was far too wound up.
he tossed and turned and could only think of the burdening thought that minho would leave him. jisung tried to stop thinking it, but it continued to circle around his mind and tormented him.
jisung let out a frustrated groan as he screamed into his pillow.
he was so tired of feeling this way.
out of control, alone, sad, he was sick of it. he was sick of not being happy.
jisung finally felt happy when in minhos arms, he didn't think about anything else in those moments. he would give anything to have those back.
jisung longed for minhot come to malaysia. as much as he seemed to dread it, he really did need the boy by his side.

jisung sat on his bed and looked through his camera roll, staring at photos he and minho have taken together.
he also looked at the ones he had taken of minho. he recalled how happy he always felt when he was around minho.
minho was his happiness. the single source of light in his dark life.
minho was the person keeping jisung alive.
if jisung didn't have minho, he wouldn't have a reason to fight the battle he deals with everyday inside his own mind. he would simply give up.
that's why jisung worried about minho coming to malaysia. he was so afraid of minho leaving malaysia after seeing jisung in such a broken state, and deciding to stay away for good.
jisung already suffered a difficult loss, he didn't want to have to face another one.

Since the day she was born, the Lady Eithne of Dolgallu has lived under a magical prohibition: she may not marry before the omens are deemed favorable. Now, after a harrowing journey to the most sacred place in the Five Kingdoms, the Drymyn Order, a mysterious sect of powerful priests and priestesses, have pronounced the omens favorable, and her wedding to King Eowain of Droma has been arranged. But Eithne has the right to accept—or reject—her suitor. She did not set this geas upon herself, didn't ask for the special attention of the Gods to her love-life. Yet the time for her decision has come. Eowain has proven himself loyal, brave, kind—all the things any woman might ask from a man. But there’s the way of it: this is the man, you must marry him. Is she not a free woman? Was she not guaranteed the right of choice? Eithne is frustrated by the expectation that she will simply acquiesce to her fate, that she must accept that the Gods wove some secret pattern for her life and she can do nothing to stop it. So how can she prove she has the freedom to choose if she doesn't choose, “No”? How can she know for herself that her will is truly her own if she consents?

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK TWO: One Cold Trail)
After their fateful misadventure in the mountainous Norther Reaches of RUNDAO, a dark new threat to all of RUNDAO has been revealed to the mercenary band of THE CREEPING BAM and their newest member, half-orc bandit SHAYLINE SWIFT-KILL. Returning their hard-won cargo to THE SILVER ORDER in their city stronghold in BAVAT, they find their well-deserved rest will have to rest – half-elf wizard GAEL FOXTAIL’s father has disappeared while performing an investigation in the coastal city of UNTERMER, and it’s up to our motley crew to find him. As a son of Untermer, wily bakaneko thief ART OF SHADOWS is the perfect choice to lead the way, but he has ghosts of his own to face as their investigation brings them into the orbit of the THIEVES GUILD. But there are daker forces at work here, and as they uncover a dark conspiracy and form an uneasy alliance with a trio of tough sellswords with their own stake in the game, led by dwarven warrior THELGAEWYNN FROSTFORGE, the Creeping Bam begin to suspect this may be connected to that unfinished business they started back up north … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
