I keep whispering, 'we can't lose hope.'

I'm being torn apart but I need to trt to be strong. Toby is in more pain than me. I need to help him.

"What is her favorite song?" I ask him.

"Unity, by shinedown. Or Elenour Rigby by the Beatles." He says.

"Let's sing those songs then."

"O-ok." He says.

I take out my phone and search up 'Unity-Shinedown kareoke' and turn it on.

"I found a note with your name and a picture of us. Even though it framed and covered in dust. It's the map in my mind that sends on my way." He sings. He has a beautiful voice.

I sing next.

"They say its never to late, to stop being afraid. And there's no else here so why should I wait? And in the blink of an eye, the past begins to fade."

"So have you ever been caught in a sea of despair? And your moment of truth is the day when you say 'I'm not scared'" We sing.

Toby starts crying again and I rub his back.

"She'll wake up soon. Don't worry." I whisper.

I turn on Elenour Rigby.

He looks at me and I hug him. He cries into my shoulder and I keep rubbing his back.

"I can't do this. I wanna leave." Toby cries out.

"Shh shhh it's ok. We can go if you want. Shhh. Calm down she'll be ok. Everything is going to be ok." I whisper.

I help Toby up and we start walking towards the door.

"Thanks. She's kinda like a new friend to me now. And I don't wanna lose her. And I know she won't try to beat me up. Like Jinxx." He says quietly.

"It's ok. Let's go." I say as we walk out the hospital.

It's been half an hour since we left the hospital and Toby is sitting next to me on the couch. We're watching Supernatural. He keeps fidgeting.

"You ok, Toby?"

"Yeah. Just have mild anxiety. I use to have horrible anxiety. Like Ash's. She actually has it worse than I did. I also had depression. I really want to help her. I've never been in a coma. I wonder what it's like. We're gonna get a lot of stares at school. I'm not ready."

"If you decide to ditch I will with you. And yeah, we will."

"I need to face it. If I don't it will make it worse. I've learned from my mistakes."

"Ok."

"Can you go back to the hospital? Just for a little while? And like tell me if anything happens? I can't look at her. She looks horrible."

"Yeah, of course. Is it ok if I stay there for a few hours. I have a lot to say and I want to stay for a long time. Just to make sure."

"Ok."

I get up and go out of the house. I get in the car, start it, and start driving towards the hospital, speeding a bit.

I get to the hospital rushing to her room. When I see her there is a nurse checking on her.

"Hey, can i-"

"Oh, yes. I was just leaving. You came just in time."

"Thanks."

She leaves and I sit by her bed. I put my hand over hers.

"I know you probably can't hear me, but I'm really sorry. For not doing anything about Cody. I should've done something. I have no excuses. At all. I hate myself for it. I could tell you weren't alright and I'm sorry for not helping. Or doing something. I should've. I'm sorry."

"I forgive you..." She says.

I press the red button and some nurses rush in the room as I back away. I call Toby and tell him what happens. He shows up quickly.

"Hey, what's going on?" Toby asks me.

"She woke up. She answered me when I was talking to her."

I'm walking out of the hospital with Toby. He drives us home.

"Ash can come home tomorrow. I'm gonna walk with her to every class." I say.

"Ok. I will too. I have all classes with her."

"Alrighty then. We need to get some sleep now."

I say as we approach the house. While we're walking through the doorway I get a text from Ash.

"So I can have you all to myself?" Toby asks from over my shoulder.

"You were reading my texts?"

"I saw Ash and I wanted to make sure she was ok. So are you all mine?"

"Yep. I'm all yours." I smirk and turn around.

He pulls me over to the couch and pecks me on the lips.

"I-i-i thought you were kidding." I say surprised.

"Nope. And I bet I can kiss better than her." Toby wiggles his eyebrows.

"I'll be the judge of that." I say and smirk.

He kisses me passionately. We kiss for a long time. He licks my bottom lip and I open my mouth.

We make out for about ten minutes. He finally pulls away breathing slightly heavily.

"Told you I was better." He says.

"I guess you were right."

"Who would've thought old 4th to 6th grade friends would end up like this." He says and smirks. Why sO MUCH SMIRKING?! It's creepin me out man.

"Want more?" He asks and starts showering kisses all down my neck.

"Sorry but I need my sleep. So do you. Goodnight." I say and lay down on the couch.

"I'm not letting you sleep on the couch." He picks me up and carries me to his bed.

He lays down next to me and curls his body around mine. We fall asleep cuddling with watch other.
