the boys arrived at the amusement park rather quickly and piled out of their cars, rushing towards the entrance.
"jisung, lix, wait up!" minho called out, but the two boys didn't listen as they sprinted ahead of everyone else.
"he really did steal my best friend..." jeongin frowned.
"well before minho and jisung started dating, those two were inseparable." hyunjin explained to the latter.
"shut up, he's my soulmate. he's allowed to choose me over everyone." minho cut in aggressively.
"no, you're just possessive over him." seungmin stated.
"shut up, i am not possessive. jisung and i have a very health relationship." minho said confidently.
"you guys do, you're cute. jisung just focuses heavily on you and sometimes forgets the rest of us exist. it's not your fault though." chan chimed in.
"but i don't want to lose felix just because i have a boyfriend now... why can jisung have both?" jeongin questioned with a pout on his face.
"go run and catch up to them, you can have both too innie." hyunjin smiled before giving jeongin the light shove he needed to run after them.
"why are they all so dramatic?" minho rolled his eyes.
"jeongin is just very insecure, you shouldn't judge him for that. he constantly worries if any of us truly like him." hyunjin explained to the group.
"i didn't know jeongin worried like that..." changbin spoke up.
"i didn't either until recently. my heart actually breaks for him, his mind can be a real war zone at times." hyunjin sighed.
"kind of like felix..." changbin trailed off thinking of all the times when he and felix used to date and he had to talk the latter down from the ledge. not so much in a literal sense, but there were many nights where he knew felix was harming himself.

"i think felix is different from jeongin though, very different actually." hyunjin stated.
"how?" changbin questioned and everyone listened in curiously.
"you see, jeongin talks about felix a lot... and how they got close. did you know they bonded over you and i not liking them back?" hyunjin explained to changbin who just shook his head, "well they did... but that's not really the point. jeongin is insecure, yeah, but he's not suicidal or depressed.
he suffers from low self esteem and depressive episodes, but he tells me all the time he would never consider himself depressed since it never lasts for too long. it's more like midnight blues as he describes it.
jeongin talks more about how worried he is for felix though. he told me i never have to worry about him harming himself, but he's not so sure when it comes to felix."
at the thought of any harm coming to felix, the entire groups demeanor changed.
"changbin, you okay?" minho asked as changbins head hung low.
"i worry about the same things that jeongin does. i'm just not so sure i can save him." changbin admitted.
"i'm sorry if i'm overstepping here," chan spoke, "but... no one can really save him, changbin. you have to know that.
if something happens to him, it is no ones fault. we're all taking care of him in the ways we know how, you most of all, but that is no guarantee he will sudden want to live.
he has to want to live, you can't force him too. trust me though, if it were up to me, i would force him to live too... i know that's what you want to do."
"let's just go on the rides." changbin felt the tears welling in his eyes, the overwhelming thought of felix giving up was causing him the greatest amount of pain.

changbin walked over with minho and hyunjin at his sides and chan and seungmin following slowly behind.
"you said all the right things, that's why he did that." seungmin said as he placed his hand on chans shoulder to get his attention.
"you think so?" chan questioned, worrying he really did overstep.
"i know so," seungmin nodded, "changbin was starting to cry, that's why he had to walk off. he doesn't want to be seen as week or a failure. he wants to save felix but he knows he can't and everything you said was right, he knows that."
"i want to save felix too though..." chan let out a big exhale, desperately trying to catch a breath.
"please calm down chan, i can see you are really working yourself up over this. we will save felix, please just relax." seungmin said, stepping in front of the latter and placing his hands on either side of his shoulders.
"just breathe with me, okay?" seungmin spoke calmly, "in 1...2...3... out 1... 2...3... again, in 1..2...3... out 1...2...3..."
"t-thank you seungmin." chan stuttered out. he wasn't used to someone catching him when he was panicking. chan was used to hiding it and going undiscovered by others, but seungmin always knew when soemthing was wrong.
"you don't need to thank me, let's just go on some rides." seungmin smiled warmly as he grabbed on to chans hand and started dragging him through the amusement park.
chan felt himself smiling genuinely for the first time in a long time, and it was finally caused by someone other than felix.

A Wheel Inside a Wheel
Two brilliant young me, Reinhard von Musel and Yang Wen-li, are forced to flee the countries of their birth and become refugees on opposite sides of a century long galactic war. While they both struggle to adapt to their new lives, their obvious talent propels them to the forefront of the war. Their choices will shape their adoptive homelands forever, and their clash will decide the future of the galaxy. This story is broken up into volumes, each following one half of the conflict. You can read them in chronological order, or you can follow just Yang or Reinhard. See individual descriptions below. Part One - Speaking in Tongues When Yang Wen-li’s father dies, the only thing that he inherits is a mountain of debt, which can only be paid off with fifteen years of his life. Wanting to escape that indentured servitude, Yang flees his homeland and takes up a false identity in the Galactic Empire, a hyper-stratified society where stepping out of line is punishable with imprisonment or death. Yang enrolls in the Imperial Officers’ Academy to study history, but despite his unusual and unmistakeable talent as both a tactician and a scholar, his classmates resent him for being a visible outsider. When tensions at the school boil over and several of Yang’s classmates attempt to murder him, Yang finds an unlikely ally in the top student in the class: the aloof Oskar von Reuenthal. But Reuenthal and Yang both have secrets, secrets which could destroy both their lives and their newfound friendship. Separated from everyone he cares about, Reinhard is forced to make some unexpected allies, and make connections with old friends.
