It was a Saturday afternoon, getting close to evening, and you stayed in because you had a long week. But Harley had been getting restless all day and now she let out a loud sigh. "(Y/N)...I'm gettin' kinda bored...it's Saturday and I really wanna go out with ya." You nodded slowly.
"I know Harl. But I had a really exhausting week and I just felt too tired to go out this morning..." You nestled against her from where you were both laying on the sofa. She gently moved a few strands of your hair away from your eyes.
"It's fine puddin'. But if ya up ta it, I was hopin' ta take ya out for dinner this evenin'," she said with a smile. You opened your eyes and smiled at her.
"Really?" She nodded.
"Yep! So ya wanna go out?" she asked. You nodded.
"Of course. I feel a bit better now anyway." You got off the sofa and stretched and Harley joined you.
"Ok. You get ready while I make some reservations." She kissed your cheek as you went upstairs. You got changed into the nicest dress you could find and did your hair and makeup. You wanted to look as pretty as possible for Harley. Eventually, she came up to get ready herself. When she was finished, you were amazed at how beautiful she looked.
"Wow Harl...you look gorgeous," you said with a smile. She blushed.
"Thanks sugar. So do you." She held your hand and linked her fingers through yours. "Come on. Let's go!"
You both walked to the restaurant as it wasn't far, Harley resting her head against your shoulder. You went inside and sat down at your table. The waiter brought you both a glass of water while you waited for your food. You both just ordered some pizza as it was a pretty Italian place. While you were waiting for your meal, a young guy, about mid 20s walked in and winked at you as he walked past. Harley cast him a glare. "What does he think he's lookin' at?" You bit your lip. You didn't want Harley to get too angry.
"He was probably just being friendly." You gave her a warm smile and placed your hand over hers. She smiled at you but still had her attention mostly focused on the other guy, who she was staring at with half narrowed eyes. "Too friendly. He's still lookin' at ya." You gulped and tried to change the subject.

"So I'm sorry about not going out today. I've just been so stressed out," you said. All of her attention reverted back to you and she gave you a soft smile while she rubbed her thumb over your knuckles.
"It's fine puddin'. I should have been more understandin'. I'm sorry I dragged ya out..." She looked guilty. You quickly shook your head.
"No this place is beautiful! I'm so glad you made me come out. I'm having a great time," you told her. She smiled widely and you chatted for a while longer until she had almost finished her water. She chewed her lip.
"Sorry puddin' but I think I drank too much water. I'm gonna have ta go ta the bathroom. I hate leavin' ya though...ya want ta come with?" she asked.
"I have to wait here in case the waiter brings our food," you reminded her
She nodded.
"I'll be back as soon as I can!" She got up and left to go to the bathroom. Within minutes of her leaving, the guy from before walked over to you.
'Ugh, what does he want?' you thought. But you just gave him a small, polite smile. "Uh...can I help you?" He smirked.
"What's a cute number like yourself doing with the Joker's girl?" he asked. Your whole body tensed.
"She isn't the Joker's girl anymore. She's my girlfriend now," you said, trying your best to remain calm.
"Well I think you can do better," he said. You gulped and tried to move away from him.
"I don't think so. Harley is the most important person in my life. I wouldn't trade her for anyone." It worried you how close he was leaning.
"But why? She's so trashy. Have you seen what she is wearing?" You were getting angry now. He was being so hateful towards Harley.
"No she isn't. I like what she's wearing. She looks beautiful in it." You stood up to go find her. You didn't care about the food at this point in time.
"Wait!" He got your arm and leaned closer to you.
"AND WHAT DO YA THINK YA DOIN'?" you heard from behind you. You felt relieved and scared all at once. Harley had come back just in time but you were afraid for what she might do. The man turned round and his face paled when he saw her. She looked more angry than you had ever seen her in your life. She went over to him and grabbed him, slamming him into a table, smashing some glasses. The people around you gasped and some screamed.

"Gosh you're so crazy. Your girlfriend deserves better than you," he muttered. Bad move. Harley pulled out a gun and put it to his head.
"SHUT UP!" she yelled. You gasped. You knew she kept one on her but she had never pulled it out in front of you before. She was starting to scare you with her jealousy.
"Harl...calm down..." you said softly. She was barely registering until a worker came to see what was going on and frowned.
"Harley Quinn! I knew you would be trouble when I found out you made reservations here! I gave you the benefit of the doubt and now I'm paying for it! I'm calling the police!" he said. Harley gasped.
"No Mistah! Ya got it wrong! I was just out on a date with my girlfriend and ya see-"
"I do see," he interrupted. "I see you pointing a gun at another one of our guests." Harley flushed and put the gun away.
"I'm sorry! Just please give me a second chance! For my girlfriend's sake!" she pleaded. He just shook his head.
"No second chances for you Quinn! We all know your reputation for causing trouble here in Gotham," he said. He called the police and Harley looked nervous.
"(Y/N)! We gotta get outta here!" She grabbed your hand and ran out of the restaurant, pulling you with her, before anyone could stop the pair of you. The guy from before just smirked at her and her blood boiled but there was nothing she could now. Her priority was getting you both hidden and safe. She ran between buildings with you before pulling you down an alleyway that seemed fairly safe. You both stopped to rest, breathing heavily.
"I'm so sorry!" you blurted out. "This is all my fault! I tried my best to get away from him! I really did! I defended you and I never led him on! Please don't be mad!" Harley frowned.
"Mad? Why would I be mad? Oh puddin' I'm not angry at ya!" she promised. "I'm angry at him for not stayin' away from ya. Why can't guys understand sometimes that no just means no?"
"I know what you mean," you agreed. It was silent for a moment, with only the sound of heavy breathing as you both tried to get your breath back, while you listened for the police. Luckily, they had gone a different road to the restaurant as you only heard them distantly and they soon moved on. You knew you had to bring up more about the incident in the restaurant.
"Harley...back there...I've never seen you so angry before. It kinda scared me," you admitted. Harley looked worried then.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean ta scare ya! Ya not gonna leave me are ya?" she asked nervously. You shook your head and pulled her in for a hug.
"Of course not. I could never leave you. I was just worried about how you must have been feeling to get so angry," you explained. Harley was silent for a moment before speaking again.
"I've just...been really stressed. It's not easy tryin' ta get second chances and make a life for myself here in Gotham. Everyone's so suspicious of me and it's hard for me to break some of my old habits. Like carrying a gun with me," she admitted. "I shouldn't have used it on that guy but I'm always afraid of losin' ya ta someone better." It was the first time she told you that.
"Harley...I promise you are the best person for me. I've never loved someone as much as you and I never will because I want us to always be together," you reassured her. She smiled and gave you a kiss.
"I love ya (Y/N)," she smiled. You smiled back at her.
"I love you too." Her stomach rumbled then and she giggled.
"Oops! I forgot we never ate. Gee...there's a food place across the road..." she started with a hopeful smile. You knew where this was going. "C'mon (Y/N)! It's worth a try right?"

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
