They sat in the car in near silence, only listening to the mainstream radio quietly. Madison held her bag of clothes to her chest tightly, watching the trees pass her by, wishing this situation had gone differently.
Corpse had every right to hate her. She had lost his trust, and she couldn't blame him for wanting her to leave him alone.
As they pulled up to her apartment complex, Madison realized she would have to get her car from the OTV house eventually, but for now she just wanted to go inside and cry in the privacy of her own home. Thankfully, someone had been sober enough to make sure she got her keys and wallet.
"Thank you... for everything." Madison unclipped her seat belt, hesitating before she opened the door and got out of the car. She pulled a $20 bill from her wallet, handing it to Corpse. "That should cover gas, and the water and stuff I used in the apartment... See you around, Corpse."
He looked like he wanted to say something, but didn't. She sighed, shut the door, and began walking into her building.

may be a bad influence but at least i'm fun
are you okay??
yes :))) thank you
if you have such a major platform you shouldn't be posting about getting drunk and doing drugs. you're ruining our younger generation
i'm 22 years old. i'm legally allowed to drink, and never have i done any drugs. if anyone is ruining a younger generation, its the parents who rely on content creators to teach their children morals.

Corpse hadn't spoken to her in four days.
At first, she just thought he needed time. Maybe a day or two, to get his life back in order from where she had left it. He had promised not to leave her alone or ignore her, but now she had a feeling that was just to get her to stop crying. She hadn't been played so hard in her life, and she didn't know what to do other than cry about it.

She knew she would have to get back on the internet eventually. She knew they would have to stream together again eventually. It was just a matter of time before she was invited into a lobby he was in too.
Madison knew for the first few days, she could handle this like she did last time. She could cry and feel lost and be heartbroken, but life was still going on around her. She refused to be a washed up internet personality.

"Hello everyone! It's been a little minute...How are you guys?" She read the chat quickly, most people saying they were happy to see her back. "Yeah, sometimes ya gotta take a few days for yourself, right?"
"Um... I think we should just maybe watch some videos, or, I don't know... what do you guys want to do?"
The chat started spamming Corpse. She tried to keep her smile up, "Corpse is busy, guys. He can't play or anything.."
She started to watch gaming videos from her friends, commenting on what she thought about different things with her audience. They hung out for awhile, until Madison got incredibly hungry. She closed out everything, finally starting to calm down after hours of faking it.

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Thanks!
