《May I Have This Dance // DNF》three

I actually decided to go to the bookstore, I still was nervous to go, but I somewhat calmed myself down by saying I'll only need to talk when I buy the book. I walk into the bookstore and I, of course, had a guard right behind me, people were whispering and pointing at me; I tried to ignore it but it was kind of hard.
I walk into the store and start to look at the different books, and looking at author's I've never read before. It was refreshing not seeing the same books over and over again when I needed something to entertain me when I'm bored and I don't want to stare outside my window just to see the same scenery over and over again. I look through the book shelves and grab the ones that seem interesting to me.
"What a coincidence," A familiar voice says. I look over and see that it's Dream. "I rarely see you here," Dream starts to move closer to me and my guard pushes him back.
"Please step away from the prince." He says sternly.
"Techno, it's fine. I know him." He huffs and steps back. Dream moves closer to me and he looks at my arm full of books.
"I see that you like a variety of genres."
"I rarely get to read new books, I just want to read new ones."
"Why don't you read new books more often?" Dream says leaning on the shelves.
"Because I don't like to go out,"
"Anti social?"
"Home body. I feel more comfortable at my castle."
"Your life sounds pretty boring."
"Thanks, I guess."
"I'm not trying to be rude, but I think that you should add some spice in your life."
"And how should I do that?" I raise my eyebrows. Dream comes over to my ear.

"Meet me in your garden at midnight, we'll have some fun." He whispers. I smile at him and he walks away. "Great talking to you George, see you soon." He winks at me and I smile. I head over to the cashier and pay for the books.
I head home and went straight to my room, I organized the books into a stack and once I was satisfied with the placement I head back downstairs. I see my parents and someone I wasn't able to recognize.
"George, there you are!" My mother says with delight. "You've met Willow before, haven't you?"
Oh no.
"We talked, briefly at the ball. It's nice to see you again." She holds out her hand and I lightly kiss the top.
"It is lovely to see you again, I was just talking to your parents a little bit."
"About what?" I ask. I put on a fake smile and I look up at my father and he looks a bit uncomfortable.
"We were just discussing a possibility of you both getting married." My father answers hesitantly.
"Married, I see." I let out a quiet laugh to ease the tension a bit. Willow is a nice girl, but she isn't the girl for me, I don't want her.
"I was just going to stay for dinner, then I'll be out of your hair." She says in he soft, sweet voice.
"Don't worry, Willow. We all enjoy having you here."
Dinner was a bit awkward to say the least, we got to know a bit more about Willow's life and we told a bit our life too. I felt guilty as if I was leading her on, but I need to keep reminding myself that I wasn't the one that agreed to this.
"I always love going to the flower shop and getting new roses for my garden." Willow said in delight. "It's always my favorite part about living in this side of town."

"George loves to read, maybe in the future you can work on your garden while he reads." My mother suggests.
The dinner finished and I impatiently waited for midnight to come, I found myself looking outside the window to see if Dream showed up. Midnight finally arrived and I look out my window and it was a far enough jump I could hurt something, I stepped out of room into the top of the roof. I nervously stayed on the grey brick, and tired my best not to slip.
"George." A whisper-yell called. I looked around and find Dream looking up at me. "Come down, I'll catch you I promise." I closed my eyes and let go from the brick that we keeping me from slipping. I felt like I was suspended into the air for a long time before feeling the arms catch my body. I open my eyes to see Dream holding me bridal style, I blush, I was embarrassed I couldn't get myself off of the roof. He lets me go and sets me down carefully.
"Thank you for catching me," I say with embarrassment.
"Anytime, you looked like you were struggling." He lets out a soft chuckle and he starts to walk away. "Want to go for a stroll?" I nod, following after him. We walk together and enter the garden, the petals were glistening in the moonlight. We walk down the path and Dream's hands always grazed the petals before moving onto the next.
"I love the garden at night, it's so peaceful." I say breaking the silence.
"It is, I love it." He stops at a flower, and picks it. He puts it behind my ear and smiles. "I thought that the white petals would look nice with your dark hair."
"I don't know, what do you think?"
"I think it looks pleasant."
"What have you've been up too?"
"Nothing interesting, just stuff to keep my busy. What about you?"
"Trying to deal with my parents, they've really been pressing on the idea of me getting married."
"How?"
"They brought this girl over, she was from the ball, and they kept talking about our future together as if the marriage was already arranged and started to be planned."
"Why don't you want to get married?"
"I think I'm too young."
"I think there's a different answer, you're a very bad liar." I hesitate, then bite my lip. He laughs and I look away from him. "Hey, I'm just teasing you. You don't have to tell me if you don't want too."
"I guess I'm scared."
"Scared? Scared about what?"
"Committing to a woman I barely know all because my parents want it more than I do."
"Then what do you want?"
I think about it for a bit, the honest answer is that I don't really know. I don't know what I want besides some freedom.
"I don't know," I look at his face and the glow from the moon was glossing all over his tan skin. He looks down at me and gives a warm smile, that told me that everything will be okay. He fixes the flower behind my ear and rests his hand onto my jaw line and strokes my cheek.
"Let's get you back home."
He walked be back to the castle, he gives me a hug before boosting me up to help me get back to my room. I wave him goodbye and he returned the wave and runs off into the night. I take the flower from my ear and place it onto my windowsill.

Sturmblitz Kunst: Becoming a Dissident for Martial Arts
"I don't care what you read in some old, dusty tome. You can spend decades chasing an outmoded cultivation method that'll probably lead to a faux-breakthrough trap from the Emperor that turns you into a walking impurity tumor, or you can give me a couple months and I'll teach you how to punch through someone's head." - Zelsys "Sevenfold Storm-conqueror" Newman, Founder of the Newman Family The world at large has just begun its recovery from the nigh-apocalyptic War of Fog. Catastrophic environmental damage and gaping power vacuums stir the cogs of history into motion in the absence of open war, eternally greased by the blood and sweat of ambition. A small duchy in the North of the country now stands at the precipice of upheaval as the burgeoning powers of the new era clash within its borders... Meanwhile, as the survivor of a now-extinct cultivator family struggles for survival in a world that cares not about his social status, the very embodiment of his escapist coping mechanisms forces him to pursue the fantasies of self-determination he had never dared act upon.

The Tower Must Fall - Combat Gardener
If you're interested in a conceptual, ground-up rewrite leave a comment and tell me what you loved about it. I've got a pretty good idea of what everyone hated so there's no need for expounding on that. Gardener? A support class? This can't be! What was all my hard work for? Forget this world. Forget the System. Even if I'm a lowly support class, I'll take on the Tower and take them all down! Since the System appeared one hundred years ago, humanity has been divided into three: combat classes, intellectual classes, and support classes. Assigned at the moment of high school graduation, one's class determines their future. Rowan wanted the most out of life. A combat class, an intellectual class, either would be fine. When he is instead assigned a support class, Gardener, he notices the System is completely rigged against support classes. Refusing to give up on his dream of realizing his future by his own terms, Rowan challenges the Tower, the seat of the System and home of the Hero-King, in hopes of bringing the entire System to its knees. Season One complete. Permanent Hiatus, Pending Rewrite. Important notes: -LitRPG fantasy -Rowan is not perfect. He's got flaws, emotions, and personal issues to work through. If you want a perfect, overpowered MC who makes the right decision every time, this is NOT the work for you. -This story opens with a negative situation and an emotional growth arc for the main character. Please don't review until chapter 30 because the arc is not complete until that chapter. (Chapters are short, that's an average RR book's chapter 10) -No harem, no rape, no isekai, no romance -Questions? Please ask!

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.
