《May I Have This Dance // DNF》six

Dream and I have gotten closer and we both were meeting each other every midnight. We also meet each other in secret, I say I'm going to town but in reality I'm meeting Dream. He mostly teaches me how to lead in a dance.
---
Dream was reading through the book with me. I was laying between his legs and was resting my back into his chest. We were sitting on my window seat right next to the window, we both have the sun shining on our faces to keep us warm.
"My love, my love. Life isn't fair, it never was." Dream read . "But it seems that life was fair when we found each other." I hear Dream let out a laugh and I look up at him. He looks down at me and gives me a kiss on the cheek.
"That sounds like us." He smiles.
"It does," I respond closing the book.
"But what are you going to do when you have to marry Willow?" His tone changed and my heart sank.
"I don't really know," I bite my lip. He wraps his arms around my body and pulls me close.
"We'll figure it out, plus I can come up with a plan and we can be together." I exhale.
"I'm just scared, what if something goes wrong?"
"We'll be fine, I promise."
---
I was in the main room and I was reading and my mother was knitting a blanket. I look over at her and she has a look on her face.
"Something wrong, mother?"
"No dear, nothings wrong. But I do want to talk to you about something."
"What's that?"
"I wanted to give you something," She hands me a small red velvet box, I look at it then open it and inside was a ring. "I wanted you to know that I think you should propose to Willow soon so we can get the wedding arrangements together."

"Do you want me to do it today?"
"Not exactly, but you have a week."
"A week?"
"Yes, we need to get this wedding moving as soon as possible."
I swallow hard, and start to get a gut feeling that this isn't going to turn out well. I nod and close the box and put it into my pocket. I go upstairs and grab a piece of paper.
Dear Dream,
I think we need to discuss what we're going to do. My mother gave me 7 days to propose to Willow and I don't know what to do, I'm scared to do it, but I'm even more scared if I don't. I need to know what's your plan so we can prepare. I love you my dearest.
Sincerely, George.
I go down to the stables to see Wilbur, and he gives me a smile. I clearly look nervous because his smile went away.
"You look worried,"
"I am."
"About what?"
"My mother gave me this," I showed him the box and open it. "I have 7 days."
"Are you going to do it?"
"I have no choice,"
"Well, I'm guessing that you need me to send a letter to Dream,"
"That's correct."
"I have a question for you."
"What is it?"
"Do you want to marry her?"
"No..." I say quietly.
"Do you want someone else?"
"Yes,"
He sighs and takes the letter from my hands.
"Do you love him? Do you love Dream?" My mouth is dry, I felt as if I couldn't say anything so I just nod. He gives me a pleasant look and puts the letter into his pocket. "I'll deliver it to him."
"Thank you so much,"

"Of course,"
I start to walk away and then I hear someone come and hide behind the wall and make sure I'm not seen. I look around the corner and see my mother walking towards Wilbur.
"Good evening, Wilbur."
"Good evening your majesty, what are you doing here so late?"
"I would like to talk to you about something."
"What would you like to discuss?"
"You've been going somewhere every night, where have you been going?" I peak I've the corner and Wilbur looks a mix of calm and nervous.
"I was just going for a late night ride,"
"Every night?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Well my son, George, has been coming here everyday to talk to you or something like that. I just wanted to let you know if he asks you to do something and you don't want to do it; you don't have too. If he says otherwise I'll talk to him."
"Yes ma'am."
"Have a good night Wilbur,"
"Have a good night your majesty."
I sneak out of the barn and run to my room. I'm glad that Wilbur covered for me but then again my mother is already suspicious about me going down there, and I didn't know she knew. I close my door and lean my body weight against the door and slide down to sit on the floor. I put my hands and cover my face and start to cry.
Life isn't fair, it never was.
