《Vibin' • Yoonkook [✔️]》26

later that evening, the three older boys- seokjin, namjoon, and yoongi- were sitting inside seokjin's dorm. it was quiet, apart from namjoon and seokjin suggesting solutions to the problem, but yoongi wasn't open to suggestions. he just felt like he was forced to be there. he didn't listen, and just tuned them out.
namjoon and seokjin, though, were very concerned for their friend and his wellbeing. they brainstormed solutions multiple times, but they were of no use.
“i can't help but remember hoseok's expression before he kissed jeongguk,” namjoon said. seokjin tilted his head. namjoon sighed. “he glanced at yoongi and i before pushing his body against jeongguk and kissing him. it seemed kind of forced...”
“and you're only telling us now?”
“i'm sorry!” namjoon apologized with a small smile. seokjin rolled his eyes.
“then this means jeongguk was forced.”
“then explain why hoseok's arm was around his waist,” yoongi said. seokjin looked at him before looking away. this was something that was inevitable and had no explanation. namjoon sighed, looking at yoongi.
“jeongguk's loyal, yoongi, he'd never do this, there's more to the story.”
“really? you've known him for two years and you say you know him? nobody knows him!”
at that moment, there was a soft knock at the door. yoongi looked away in disappointment from namjoon while seokjin looked towards the door. in the end, namjoon got up to answer. he was surprised to find jimin standing there, looking deeply guilty and sad.
dressed in a normal hoodie and ripped jeans, jimin looked up at namjoon. it was weird to find him. this wasn't the jimin he had known before he broke ties with jeongguk. the bubbly aura was gone, all was left was sadness. he seemed less happy than before.

“jimin?”
“there's something i need to explain,” jimin said, looking away from namjoon, “about hoseok.”
namjoon stopped thinking. slowly but surely, he opened the door, revealing him to everyone else. seokjin was a little bit shocked to find him there, but yoongi was different. he was tense, looking at jimin in disgust and hatred.
“jimin says he'd like to explain something about hoseok, about his recent behavior, correct?”
jimin nodded. yoongi looked at him with slanted eyes.
“you aren't going to lie or try anything, are you?” yoongi said, his voice low. jimin shook his head. he was invited inside, but he hesitated on sitting down. he did eventually sit on the floor, looking at everyone.
“hoseok's... he's gone a little crazy. he won't speak to anyone and keeps mumbling something about jeongguk.”
“he and jeongguk... pretended to be dating for some unknown reason to me. hoseok told me this, but not why. i felt bad keeping it from you guys, but he threatened me that if i told you, i'd suffer.”
namjoon thought on this, “like blackmail?”
jimin nodded, “something like that. he also threatened me when i broke off with jeongguk. i didn't want to, but he said that, once again, he'd make me suffer.”
“that's toxic. period,” seokjin said, clicking his tongue a little. yoongi looked at jimin. “then we need to get his phone.”
namjoon glanced back at yoongi when he finally spoke. he gave a thumbs up before sliding his shoes on and bolting out of the door. jimin also began to get up as well, but seokjin stopped him, a calm, friendly smile placed on his face.
“tell jeongguk how you feel, he'll understand. thank you, jimin, for telling us this,” seokjin said. yoongi nodded a little, still laying on the seat he was in. jimin gave a small smile before bowing shortly and leaving. by this time, namjoon had arrived back, somehow with jeongguk's phone.
“he was asleep. now, let's look through this.”

How the Stars Turned Red
Announcement as of 05 July 2022: I've been diagnosed with some pretty severe nerve damage in my left arm, rendering me unable to write effectively, and as such this story is on hold until it is healed. I am so sorry, and I promise to get back to writing as soon as possible. In the latter half of the 3rd millennium CE, humanity has spread across the stars, inhabiting close to five-hundred worlds across the Orion Arm. Earth has become irrelevant, a historical has-been. The galactic map is dominated by two mega-factions, both controlling vast amounts of territories either through direct control or through their many allies and treaty signatories. The Kingdom of Aurora is the political and economic hegemon despite consisting of only seven inhabited worlds; their strength lies in the Royal Union, an interstellar commonwealth composing an internal market and a common defence pact. These member worlds are myriad and varied, culturally as well as politically, but they all flock to the same banner. The Independent Systems Alliance, spearheaded by the Republic of Elysium, is the ascendant challenger to Aurora and the Union. A pseudo-federal multi-system polity, the Alliance economy and military is rapidly expanding, but at the cost of effective democratic and meritocratic involvement by its people. However, with two superpowers as this, chafing along a common border, and with a constant clamour of polemics, both sides have become convinced the other is constantly preparing for war and are on the look-out for any perceived weakness in their opponent. The predictable result is a huge arms race and a cold war spreading across the stars, requiring only a spark to set the galaxy aflame. Drawn into this game of high stakes are ordinary men and women, their peaceful lives, hopes, and aspirations swallowed by the vortex of conflict and distrust. This is their story. Cover art by Rhodex Designs (FB). Hope you like long chapters and adjectives. Note: English is not my first language. Another story set in the same universe, written by a good friend

Inherit
Our protagonist finds himself placed in an unfamilar world; his highly magical studies are put to the test as he tries to integrate into a different, but still magical, universe. This story is not particularly heavy, and may, at times, feel somewhat whimsical. This is intended. If you're looking for a nice trip along with a man whose abilities don't entirely fit into his new home, be sure to give Inherit a try. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!]

Chronosseum

Until one day, he found a mysterious article that made him keep wondering, What would I do if I could stop the time? That encounters, that thought process, lead Grey to experience a peculiar phenomenon, which is the gateway to the bizarre nation of Chronosseum. The land claimed to be located between reality and imagination, beyond thoughts and perceptions, and through space and time. People compete there, which might be the life-death situation, make their way to be the best player in the nation. However, the consequences of the game will be given in the 'mortal' world. Join Grey make his glorious way in Chronosseum, and uncover its truth! Also, he needs to answer that question too! Note: The story heavily relies on the characters' thought processes, characters' interactions with its dramas, mystery, and back-stories aspects, so expect the slice of life thingy. As for now, I can't say this is an action-packed story, but slowly, it will be for sure. Also, I'm planning not too heavily focused on the MC, as you'll see the story told from various perspectives. Tags and content warnings are checked for the sake of my creativity in the future, it might or might not be included. This is my first novel, and also, English is not my native language, I beg your mercy. But I am open to any feedback and constructive criticism, so let's make the story more enjoyable to read! Chronosseum is scheduled to release one chapter every three days (for now).

The Heart is a Void: Ashes to Ashes
For Karel, the search for power erodes the sense of mercy. When a bug traps players in a new, immersive VRMMO, and begins to undermine the system that protects them from experiencing pain in combat, the players scramble to avoid becoming victimised. Some seek to hide or gain protection in Guilds, others seek power at all costs. Rumours of torture and possibly even real death begin to spread. Many would-be heroes strive to protect themselves and others by becoming powerful mages, mastering the power of the elements, or training at combat with large weapons. While Karel had begun by trying to enhance his mage powers as far as possible, he eventually becomes disillusioned with this as he sees the power of others who use unconventional and amoral means to take advantage of the bugged game. As he explores this new, Free-For-All world, he must turn to cunning and ruthlessness to get ahead.
