a week was left until the end of show performance. the dancers had been practicing hard. today was the day when the center dancer would be picked. jeongguk was excited. jimin was also excited, and hoseok was hoping that he'd get the center spot instead of the other two. he boasted to his non-dancing friends on how he had probably already earned it.

arriving at their class, jimin and jeongguk spoke, the excitement in their voiced obvious. they spoke as other students walked in, also excited. even if it wasn't them, they were still excited to see who it would be. after ten minutes, the professor walked in, clipboard in hand with a smile.

“i see everyone seems very energetic today,” they said. everyone nodded, smiles all on their faces, boastful or excitement. the professor smiled at them all.

“well, as you know, today our center would be picked. the person who has been picked is an exceptionally good dancer, one who stands out among the rest.”

jeongguk and jimin listened with anticipation, guessing about other students in the class. they, of course, wanted it to be them, but they still had the fun in guessing other students.

“and so, our center dancer will be Park Jimin.”

jimin was in little shock, but the big smile on his face shown out. his eyes formed little crescent moons as he smiled. people clapped for him, especially jeongguk. hoseok looked at him in disgust before looking away. jeongguk gave jimin a big hug, congratulating him.

eventually, the students did have to go back to work. jimin worked hard as the center, smiling the whole time. everyone was sweating and breathing hard, only getting limited breaks.

when class did end, jeongguk and jimin left the class together. they smiled and talked to each other.
