“school ends tomorrow, what are you planning on doing?” jimin asked, helping jeongguk clean his dorm and pack things. he did steal one or two unopened packages of toothbrushes for himself, though. jeongguk picked up a box sitting on his bed before putting items into it.
“i'm heading to busan to see my family for a week. i leave tonight, actually, yoongi offered to drive.” jeongguk finished putting his items into that box before grabbing another. this would probably be the last box.
“aw. that's cute. i think i'm going to the beach with taehyung,” jimin said, trying to recall the plans he made with his friends, “i think hoseok may be coming too. i don't know.”
“i'm also going to beach, in florida, because of yoongi once again,” jeongguk said. he still didn't feel right about going, like it was too much, but it'd make yoongi happy. jimin hummed, packing one of the boxes and taking another item for himself. what could he say? it's hard to survive in college.
a knock was heard at the door, to which jeongguk answered. there stood yoongi, two suit cases in hand. he felt as if he was over packed.
“hi yoongi!” jimin called from the other room, peering out from behind the wall. yoongi shot him a smile before looking back at jeongguk.
“you ready to go?”
“w-what?! i thought we left at six...”
“then we'd get there at ten at night, i'd rather leave now, at twelve,” yoongi said. jeongguk looked at him. he thought the drive was only two hours? instead it was four. he nodded, heading back inside and grabbing the three boxes and two suitcases he had. yoongi looked at him with a smile before leading the way to the parking lot and to his car. at the lot, students were seen taking final pictures for the year, saying goodbye to friends.

jimin helped carry the two other boxes since jeongguk couldn't carry three. they reached the car, to which yoongi unlocked the trunk and put in his two suitcases along with jeongguk's. the three boxes went into the backseat. jimin gave jeongguk an enduring hug, wishing him well and to come back soon. jeongguk returned the hug, smiling and whispering a goodbye. the two backed away before waving goodbye and heading their separate ways.
jeongguk looked back to yoongi, who was waiting near his car for jeongguk. he flashed a smile and signaled for jeongguk to hurry and get in. jeongguk hurried and got into the passengers side, buckling in and leaning back. he glanced at yoongi, who was busy tying his shoe before turning around and starting his car. he put it into reverse, turning around and watching where he was going as he backed out.
after backing out, he put the car into drive and exited the lot. it was quiet for the first ten minutes. yoongi focused on where he was going, one hand on the wheel while the other rested on the console. jeongguk looked out the window, watching at people and buildings passed by.
“so, jeongguk, when was the last time you've been back home?”
“two years ago. last year i stayed with jimin and hoseok,” jeongguk said, recalling their time staying at jimin's parents house. yoongi hummed.
“at least i finally get to meet my boyfriend's parents,” yoongi said. jeongguk nodded. he already knew his parents were fine with it since he had an openly gay brother. his parents were actually real supportive of them, so he was relaxed about it. he noticed how his hands were clenched shut, so he opened them, spreading his fingers out.
his left hand was taken into yoongi's hold. he smiled, holding yoongi's hand with his. jeongguk smiled warmly, leaning back and relaxing. the ride was peaceful.
