when they arrived back in seoul, yoongi had parked his car at namjoon's. he trusted him enough that nothing would happen. then, he took a taxi to the airport with jeongguk. they arrived there at ten, an hour before their plane would take off. they entered the airport, going through security before entering the waiting lobby.
their plane landed, and people got off while luggage and other baggage was taken off. workers filled up the tank with fuel so the plane would be ready for takeoff. jeongguk was half-asleep on yoongi's shoulder, to which yoongi snapped a few pictures. after about thirty minutes of waiting, people were called up to scan tickets. yoongi woke jeongguk up, grabbed his hand, and dragged him to the line.
after waiting for five minutes, they scanned their tickets and went through the hall and got onto the plane. they found their seats and set their bags down. jeongguk took the window seat while yoongi took the middle seat. they were luckily not sitting next to anyone, since the flight was late at night. jeongguk looked at the lights outside the window before leaning back and closing his eyes again.
the plane began moving, which scared jeongguk awake. yoongi quietly laughed.
“it'll be fine, jeongguk, just go back to sleep?”
“you won't leave me, will you?” jeongguk asked, looking at yoongi with his doe eyes. yoongi smiled, nodding and ruffled jeongguk's hair a little. the younger boy smiled in relief, taking yoongi's hand and leaning onto him, trying to fall asleep.
the flight to florida would consist of three flights. this was the first, they'd cross the pacific and land in california, where then they'd board another flight and land in oklahoma before taking one last flight to florida. yoongi hummed, recalling the schedule and smiled lightly. he, too, fell asleep but woke up just to make sure that jeongguk was doing fine at certain times.

after two more flights and plenty of restroom breaks, the two had finally landed in florida. stepping off the flight, they were greeted with a beautiful airport with decorative plants and tiled floors. restaurants were beginning to open for those coming in for the day. yoongi and jeongguk went to grab their luggage and head out. yoongi's aunt was going to pick them up and proceed to drive them to the house.
and so, they exited the airport, yoongi texting his aunt to notify her of their arrival. after ten minutes, a car pulled up, revealing a short but smiley woman. yoongi smiled back, waving shortly. the woman exited the car, hugging yoongi tightly, to which he laughed a little.
“yoongi-bear, look at how much you've grown! how's medical school going?”
“better than i expected it to be, how have you been?” yoongi asked, she just smiled.
“it's been okay, but better now that you're here. i see you've brought someone,” she said. jeongguk jumped, bowing deeply towards her. she laughed a little, telling him there was no need for that. he smiled, looking away in embarrassment.
“what's your name, sweetie?”
“jeongguk, jeon jeongguk,” he said. she smiled, hugging him lightly.
“is he your friend yoongi?”
yoongi looked at her before he smiled a little, cheeks blooming a light pink. he rubbed the back of his neck, looking away from her. he spoke softly.
“well, you see, uh, he's my boyfriend-”
“yoongi you're finally dating someone! i thought you'd stay single forever,” his aunt said. he jumped, shaking his hands and head.
“why would you think that? honestly, auntie, it just needed time. anyways, let's get going, shall we?” yoongi jumped, taking his luggage and shoving it into the trunk as well with jeongguk's. he opened the back car door and slid in, slamming it shut. his aunt looked back at jeongguk with a confused smile on her face.

“he surely has changed.”
“changed?”
“oh sweetie, wait til i tell you about his childhood,” she laughed. jeongguk smiled, entering the car. she entered the driver's seat and began to drive to their destination. the ride was quiet for the whole time apart from the low, soft music playing from the radio.
