Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Wolf of the Wasteland
If you like my work, supports are greatly appreciated. Wolf of the Wasteland, a tale of a lone girl who has rid herself of the shackles and chains of her past. Left alone on a sun-scorched desert planet Wolf must fight for survival while she flees Bloody Mirra and her group of cannibalistic bandits who had imprisoned her long ago. Wolf will have to scavenge for food, ammunition and most importantly water while on the hunt. This world is scorching, dry, and desolate. Will she survive and put an end to Mirra? Will she be able to leave her past behind and forge a brighter future? Will she have to be as ruthless as her captors and murder and steal from the innocent to survive? Author’s Notes: My work is often graphic and mature in nature. I only recommend it for the fans who are not faint of heart. This work will contain swears and violence. The Misty Gloam
Once a month the mists of the Gloamwood spread outward covering the nearby wildlands and it's inhabitants. It is an unnatural ethereal mist that steals the breath and sight of living creatures leaving a curse-like Mark on it's victims who slowly lose their mind and self to hallucinations before falling into a coma. On the outskirts of the Gloamwood lies a small village named Briarhaven. Working as a small time hunter trapper Vance Melier and his younger brother Avar eke out a humble living. During a year of erratic mists appearing without warning Avar becomes Marked when his spirit candle burns out. Now Vance must brave the Gloamwood to break the Mark on his brother before the mists return to take him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author Note: This is my first 'book' or attempt at writing a story so please don't tease me. I've always been a voracious reader but never worked up the courage or confidence to write a story and I still don't kind of but now I'm here to work on my writing chops.
