I've been miserable all week. I really do love Nikko, but I just don't see us working. He doesn't act the same, and I miss the way we used to be. Olivia told me all about her date with Bill and I'm so glad she's happy. Mr. Wright has been depressed the entire week, and it's because of Olivia's date with Bill. I decided to take my break with Olivia so we could girl talk. I went upstairs to get her, and I see Mr. Wright glaring in the direction of Bill's office. I roll my eyes at him, and go to talk to Olivia. Mr. Wright comes out of his office and walks over to the coffee machine. He sighs and makes coffee. Olivia gets up, and looks at me.

"Hold on a minute, Trinity. It'll only take a second, I promise."

Olivia got up, and took Mr. Wright to his office. I sat at Olivia's desk waiting for her. Whatever was going on, couldn't be good.

I walked into Mr. Wright's office. He's been sad all week. I am not putting up with it any more.

"What's your problem?"

"I don't have a problem."

"Yes you do. You've been acting weird all week. If you have a problem, just say it. We can't work this way."

"I'm your boss and that's it. If something is bothering me, I don't have to tell you."

"You're right. You don't. I just wish you would, so we could go back to being friendly."

"Olivia, I don't wanna be friendly. You know what the problem is."

"Yeah. The problem is that you don't want me being happy."

"Of course I do!"

"Then why would you tell me that you don't like me, then you do when I try to move on?"

"Because that's what I thought you wanted!"

Everything was quiet. He looked down at his desk, and sighed. I sat on the couch at the other end of the room.

"Did you really do that because you thought that's what I wanted?"

"Of course. All I want is for you to be happy."

"Even if it isn't with you?"

"If you want to be with Bill, and that truly makes you happy, then I'd be okay with it."

"Thank you. Are we okay now?"

"We're great. Go. Trinity's waiting for you."

"Thank you."

I walked back over to Trinity and we went to go have lunch. Trinity looked sad, and I had to figure out what was wrong.

I saw Olivia come out of the office, and walked over to me. We went to get lunch at the cafeteria, and sat down. She looked over at me and smiled.

"What's wrong, Tri? Are you and Nikko still fighting?"

"Yeah. I'm really thinking that it's time to let go. I'm really in love with him, but it's obvious he doesn't feel the same about me."

"Oh honey, I'm sure he --"

Olivia was interrupted by the buzzing of my phone. I looked down to see a text from Nikko.

Hey Babe, I know I screwed up, but if you would just meet me in the lobby in 5 minutes, I wanna make it up to you.

Okay. I'll be down.

"Sorry, Liv. Nikko wants me to meet him in the lobby and I only have 20 minutes of my break left. Talk later?"

"No problem. Go!!"

I went to the lobby and saw him in a button up and dress pants. He walked over, and hugged me. It felt so good to hold him again that I didn't even think about this past week.

"Babe, I have a surprise for you. Please come with me."

"I only have 15 minutes left for break."

"Nope. I talked to Mr. Wright. He let you have the day off."

"Really?"

"Yeah. He said you're a good employee and that he understands how important saving love is."

"Did he?"

"Yes. So come on."

As we were walking, I could only think of what he said. "He understands how important saving love is." Did that meant he loves me too? We ended up at the park we first met at.

"Babe, do you remember the day we met?"

"How could I forget? I was jogging and you practically ran into me."

"Not even. You were so busy staring at me that you twisted your ankle, and I played knight in shining armor and carried you to the nearest bench."

"Same thing."

"Come on. Let's go to that bench."

We found our way to that bench and sat down. He put his arm around my shoulders, and I rested my head on his chest. He took a deep breath, and started to talk.

"Trinity, I'm so sorry. I was such an asshole. I know. I should never have accused you of cheating. I know you would never do that to me. I just saw you two together and it drove me insane. I didn't know why seeing you with a guy friend drove me that crazy until now."

"Why?"

"I love you. I am completely and utterly in love with you."

"I love you too, Nikko."

"I'm glad. That makes what I'm about to do so much easier."

"What?"

"Well depending on how you took that news, I have another surprise."

"What? A puppy?"

"Not exactly. Probably cheaper to go with the puppy, but it's worth it."

Nikko gets up, reaches into his pocket, gets down on one knee and pulls out a beautiful diamond ring.

"Trinity, you are my life. I have been a better man ever since I've met you, and I don't want to be without you. I love you so much, and having you mad at me was the worst feeling ever. I never want to lose you again. Would you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?"

"Hmm let me think... YES!"

I jumped up from the bench while Nikko stood up. I ran into his arms. He lifted me up, and spun me around while I kissed him. He slid the ring on my finger, and grinned that famous smile of his. I really am the luckiest girl.
