"I can't believe Damien's gonna ask out his girl..I'm so excited.." said Auburn.

"Girl, you don't have to do it. I know you're sad. You wanted to be his girl. I'm sorry.." said Emma.

"Em, I'm honestly over it. He's happy and that's all I want..I know that I never be his girl..and I am just gonna let it go.." said Auburn.

Emma could see the pain and sadness in Auburn's eyes, but she knew better. She knew that her Auby was up for something better than this, and she couldn't wait for it.

The fact that Damien was nervous and scared at the same time was a complete understatement. He was hyperventilating. He never been scared of something. He was comfessing his love to a girl who was completely out of his league.

"Dude, chill. It'll be all okay." said Trey.

"Yeah, Dam, it's gonna be fine. It's a done deal. Besides, you are known as the confidence king. You're gonna do it just well." said Lilah.

"Yep. She's gonna say yes. Don't worry. It's all planned. Everything you'll need to confess." said Chase.

Damien was grateful to his friends for their support. He looked at his friends. Trey, Chase and Lilah. Wait.

"Wait, where's Emma ?" asked Damien.

"Right here." said Emma, coming towards the group.

"So, what's the status ?" asked Damien.

"It's all okay, chill. She doesn't have a single clue of what's going on." said Emma.

Damien smiled. It was a hard task, but he would do anything to make her fall in love. Afterall, he was too much in love with her to lose her.

As the Principal announced the official commencement of the prom, the prom king and queen were elected. It was Chase and Lilah, the power couple of Timberlake High. All the years, it had been Damien who won the Prom King title, but this year, there was a different plan. Then suddenly, there was a glitch in the microphone.

Soon enough, Damien climbed onto the stage. Auburn and the other people furrowed their eyesbrows in confusion.

Damien smiled, "It's prom. The perfect place to confess my love for someone. Yes, I'm in love. Hopelessly. The playboy extraordinaire of Timberlake High is whipped. More than I can ever explain. I fell in love with someone who treated me with indifference and didn't fangirl over me. She knew I was a total jerk and an insufferable idiot, but it's okay, cause she understood me like no else has."

As soon as he spoke, the spotlight fell on Auburn. She couldn't believe it. The guy she had always loved, has now fallen in love with her, and it was like a dream. She looked at Emma, who smiled and mouthed, 'Told you he'd come around.'

Auburn smiled and looked up. Damien started again.

"Auburn, I am hopelessly in love with you. I know hard to believe, but it's true. You thought that you were the kind of girl guys didn't fall in love with, but darling, how wrong you were. You didn't know that I was the one in love with you. You understood me like no one has ever done. You treated me the same even when you knew that I was Damien Sparrow. You were there for me, always. I didn't notice you until the time when I first texted you. I know, that it's weird that I fell in love with you before I knew who you were, but I couldn't help it. You are sassy, smart, sarcastic, scary..but most of all, you have a kind heart, a pleasant behaviour, a caring personality. When I slowly started talking to you, damn, I was scared by your constant threats, but when I realised that I could have a chance with you, it was the scariest moment ever. I was scared, I was scared that I'd mess this up. And I'm sorry, if I hurt you, but I promise that I'll keep you well and never let you get hurt. I'll always be with you, no matter what, if you'll have me."

Auburn felt a tear roll down her cheeks.

"Damien, it isn't funny.." said Auburn.

"Auburn, I'm more serious than I'll ever be. I love you and I would do anything to make you love me." replied Damien.

"If you ever hurt me, I won't think twice before taking you and your whole reputation down, I mean it." said Auburn, laughing through her tears.

"Wouldn't dream it for the world. So, are you ready to take this leap with me..?" said Damien, extending his hand.

Auburn smiled, "Yes."

She gave his hand to him as he pulled her up onto the stage.

"May I have this dance ?"

"Of course."

As Auburn and Damien started dancing together to 'Give Me Love' by Ed Sheeran, Auburn said.

"I didn't know that you could be so cheesy."

"Well, you don't know a lot about me.." said Damien, winking at her.

Auburn laughed, "Well, sorry for not winning this year's Prom King title.."

Damien tucked a strand of hair behind her ears, "I really don't care. You're my queen, darling, and I'm already a royalty.."

Auburn laughed as Damien laughed along with her.

Soon enough they both were on the dance floor and the dance song was blasting through the speakers. Damien leaned in and put his lips on Auburn's. Their lips were soft on each other's. The kiss was soft and subtle, but it held thousands of emotions. It was like that one kiss set out hundreds of butterflies in their stomach and thousands of fireworks in their hearts. They were in love and there was nothing that could change that.

Damien screamed as Auburn laughed, "The night is young baby ! Be the life of the party !"
