That morning, Sasuke stormed the hokage's office. However, Naruto wasn't in, he was still at home.
"As expected..." sighed Sasuke as he waited outside the office.
It took a long time before he could hear a distant whistle coming up the stairs.
"You're late, you idiot." said Sasuke.
"Oh! You came back teme! Got anything to report?" said Naruto with a wide grin.
"You sure are in a good mood."
"Hehe, my daughter did something cute today~" said Naruto as he drifted off in his dreams.
"Anyway, I heard you're organizing a field trip for the kids?"
"Ah, did you come here to complain like what the others did?"
"No. I actually like this idea. This would be a good chance for Sarada to learn." said Sasuke with a smirk.
"Yes! Finally, someone who agrees with me!" grinned Naruto as he attempted to hang his arm around Sasuke's shoulder but failed.
"Don't do that idiot! I need to ask you a favour about Sarada." said Sasuke as he dodged Naruto.
"What?"

At the Yamanaka flower shop, Inojin is busying helping out her mother arrange the flowers on the display.
"Inojin, please place these at the corner over there!" said Ino as she handed a bouquet of daisies to her son.
"Alright mom! By the way, have you seen my painting scrolls?"
"I think they were on your father's table. You're bringing it for the trip?"
"Yeah! I wanna paint the landscapes as I travel."
"I'm sure Father would love to see your paintings." said Ino with a smile. Her son really took after her husband, Sai.
~X~
At the Nara household, father and son are busy playing a game of shogi and it seemed pretty intense.
"Ah, you trapped me Shikadai" sighed Shikamaru as he kept thinking of a way to move his piece.
"By the way, aren't you supposed to be at the hokage's office now?"
"After I finish this game. Since, Hokage-sama doesn't come that early anyway."
"Hey Father, is the Hokage actually stupid?"

"Don't say that Shikadai, even though he's a bit foolish at times but he knows what hes doing."
"This trip is going to be troublesome." sighed Shikadai.
~X~
Soon, the day has arrived for the start of the field trip. The kids were already stationed at the Konoha gate with their parents as they waited for the Hokage to arrive. Inojin walked around restlessly, ChoCho was too preoccupied with eating her snacks and Shikadai just sat down at a corner.
"The Hokage is late." sighed Ino.
"Well, it's Naruto anyway." said Sai.
It was at that moment there was figures coming from the shadows. It was the Uzumaki and the Uchiha family walking together to the gate. The hokage was dressed in his usual ninja outfit as he carried Himawari in his hands. They were both carrying bags that were quite large. Sarada on the other hand, walked side by side with her father however she didn't hold his hand like what Boruto did with his.
"Oh! Everyone's early!" said Naruto as he waved.
"No, you're actually late Hokage-sama." sighed Shikamaru.
"Ah, really? Sorry, sorry~" grinned Naruto.
Soon, everyone was assembled. Naruto briefed everyone about the plans of the week long trip and explained what they were going to do and why.
"Alright! Boruto, Himawari, Sarada, Shikadai, Inojin and ChoCho, our final stop of the trip is the Hidden Hot Water Village where we can all relax at the hot springs! But along the way, we will be stopping by several villages and even battle some monsters on the way!"
"But we're just academy students except for Himawari. There's no way we can beat them Hokage-sama." said Inojin.
"What? Are you saying you're a coward dattebasa!" said Boruto.
"Don't worry, it's all part of the training and after all, you have me! The strong hokage to protect you dattebayo!" smiled Naruto.
"I definately have a bad feeling about that..." mumbled Shikadai.
"Any questions?" asked Naruto as he looked around. He was already familiar with the kids and knew their strongest and weakest points. Everyone shook their head, they were ready.

"Yosh! Let's set off dattebayo!" shouted Naruto as he walked outside the gate. The kids said their farewells to their parents and walked behind the Hokage.
The parents however, were quite worried about their children. They stood there and watched them until they dissapeared into the forest.
"Seriously, if Inojin gets hurt once, I'll kill him." sighed Ino as she walked back with her husband, Sai.
"There's no stopping Naruto anyway" said Sakura.
However, as soon as they returned back to their normal lives. There was something up in Konoha once the hokage had left. Shikamaru was now temporarily in charge and he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in."
"Shikamaru, I've got reports from the scouts." said an ANBU as he handed a paper to Shikamaru.
Shikamaru looked through and his eyes widened. Things were not looking good the moment Naruto left.
~X~
Naruto and his team were now inside the thick forest that surrounded Konoha. It was a fascination for the children as they haven't seen nature up close before. Beautiful flowers and butterflies made them smile. They kept walking until they reached a nearby river.
"Yosh! Let's take a break here, it's time for lunch!" said Naruto with a grin.
"Hokage-sama, I'll go and gather wood for the fire." said Inojin as he went back into the forest.
"I'll follow Inojin since it's dangerous to go alone." said Sarada as she followed Inojin.
"Alright, what food have you guys brought?" asked Naruto as he sat down.
"Whoops, I ate everything in my bag along the way." said ChoCho as she searched through her bag only to find nothing left edible.
"Seriously, you're just gonna get even fatter dattebasa!" joked Boruto as he headed into the river.
"No one cares Boruto!"
"Well, let's not fight shall we?" said Naruto as he tried to bring peace to the two. However he noticed something, Himawari was missing.
"Oi Boruto, wheres your sister?"
"Huh? Isn't she with you?" said Boruto as he turned around. He realized her sister wasn't there anymore.
"WHATTT?!" shouted Boruto as he became frantic.
"OI BORUTO, WE MUST FIND HER NOW!"
"YES TOU-CHAN! WE MUST!"
"Calm down. You should think first where she would've gone." sighed Shikadai as he awoke from his slumber by the noisy Uzumakis.
"Then, what are we supposed to do dattebasa!" pouted Boruto.
"Where did you last saw her?"
"She was just behind me when we were walking in the forest." answered Boruto.
"Shit. You three, stay here. I'm going to look for Himawari." said Naruto as his face turned serious. He quickly dissapeared into the forest.
~X~
Naruto jumped from branch to branch, shouting Himawari's name as he frantically looked through the thick leaves for his precious daughter. He knew that she would wander off easily and blamed himself for not looking after her properly.
However, there was nothing. There was no trace of footprints nor a single response from his daughter. But, it was at that moment Naruto heard a rustle among the leaves. He quickly headed towards the direction only to be stopped by a flying kunai.
"Who's there?!" shouted Naruto.
"My, my how dangerous it is for a hokage to be out here alone." said a voice hiding in the trees. Arrows of kunais came flying through the trees but Naruto easily dodged it. He wondered who the enemy was as he made a handseal.
"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" Five clones of Naruto appeared as they stormed into the trees to find the hidden enemy.
"You're as repulsive as ever, Naruto-kun." said a voice as a shadow appeared from the ground. There was a ghastly image of a man with long back hair. It was shaped like a white snake.
"Orochimaru!" shouted Naruto as he threw his kunai towards him. However, the kunai just melted away through the skin.
"Let's not fight shall we?" said Orochimaru as his form slowly developed into a human-like body.
"Or else, I'll have to hurt your little daughter."

Beneath No Sky: Chronicles of the Atmospheric Sector
After bringing themselves back from the brink of annihilation, humanity's future seemed bleak. However, it's remnants, throwing aside the old order and donning a new mantle of progress aimed to rise above their ancient disputes and go forward as one. Once the Earth reached it's natural limit, and colonies around Terra and Luna had shown promising results, humanity finally decided to make the move to the stars. Believing this to be the start of a new age, they eagerly poured across the solar system and further beyond, greeting what space had to offer with hope and optimism. It was misplaced, however, for humanity's traditional quarrels soon resurfaced and engulfed a now interplanetary empire of many races. As the Earth Empire burned and an intense depression overtook the once optimistic people, some held out hope. They theorized that their problems were born of an inherent sense of home and, in order to rid humanity, now comprising of the Terrans as well as all the other known species of the galaxy, of this burden, decided to move far away from civilized space, into uncharted depths, to start anew. Some 200 years have passed since then, and those hopeful ones have finally found a place to settle on. Firmly planting their flag in paradise, they called this untouched land "Eden" and declared the beginning of a true new age, the age of After Eden.Trouble, however, seemed to still be hounding them, as barely three years after its founding, Eden finds itself at war with a seemingly uncommunicative and uncompromising enemy that far outclasses the odd pirates they were used to facing. A new era of peace, marked by an immediate conflict. Time will tell if Eden, the Grand Experiment, truly is as great as it's supposed to be. ---------------------------------------- This is a sci-fi, character driven, military space drama.
