"What does it take to be a true ninja?"
"The power of comrades".
It has been nearly 5 years ever since the children came back from their first ever mission with the Seventh Hokage and it has changed them a lot.
"Shikamaru, what time is it now?" sighed Naruto as he placed a paper onto the desk.
"12:30. Just in time for lunch but you're not gonna have any." replied Shikamaru.
"WHY DATTEBAYO?" yelled Naruto in frustration.
"You have 100 papers left to overview. You've got the Chuunin Exams, scout reports, letters from the feudal lord-"
"Alright, alright I get it." pouted Naruto as he knew it was his duty to complete those heavy tasks.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in" replied Shikamaru.
"We've just finished a B-ranked mission father!" shouted Boruto with a wide grin. He was now in a three man team with Sarada and Mitsuki, much taller than Sarada and proudly wore the hitate over his forehead.
"As expected of my son-ttebayo! Let me see your report." said Naruto with a smile as he recieved a file from Sarada.
"Hokage-sama, do you have any other missions to give us?" asked Mitsuki.
"I think it's best if you guys take a break first. Come back tommorow alright?"
"YAHOO! A DAY OFF!" screamed Boruto in joy.
"Just in time for Himawari's graduation ceremony!" said Sarada.
"Oh yeah! Hima-chan's graduating today! Quick, we have to be the first ones there!" said Boruto in excitement as he pulled his two teammates away.
"Hey! Don't just pull me like that you idiot!" shouted Sarada in anger.
"Have a good day Hokage-sama." smiled Mitsuki as the two followed Boruto out.
As soon as the doors closed, Shikamaru could only sigh.

"Why does your son have to be an exact replica of you? It's so troublesome."
"Haha! He's gonna grow up to be a fine ninja like me!" said Naruto with pride.
"I didn't know your daughter's graduating today...."
"Time is passing really fast Shikamaru. I can still remember the days when we became ninjas."
"Now it's time to let the younger generation take over huh? We've become old. Really old." sighed Shikamaru. Naruto could only grin as the two happily reminsce their past.
There is a clutter of young academy students standing outside the school field, each waiting in line to recieve their very own hitaite band. From outside the gates, Boruto Sarada and Mitsuki are glued to the bars trying to find Himawari among the crowd.
Himawari was a small, dainty girl who always wore light yellow clothes at school. She was often weak but teachers knew of her strong willpower. The boys at school would often bully her until Boruto arrived to kick their asses. But overtime, the boys fell for Himawari's cute innocence especially her strong dedication of putting sunflowers at Neji's grave every morning.
"There she is! HIMAWARI-CHAN!!!!" screamed Boruto.
"Shut up you idiot!" whispered Sarada as she quickly covered his mouth.
"Oh look. The teachers are coming." said Mitsuki.
From afar, Himawari could easily recognize the loud voice and could only giggle. She took forward with Boruto's cheer and proudly took her hitaite from her teacher's hands.
"Thank you for teaching me Shino-sensei." said Himawari as she recieved her hitaite.
"Grow up to be a strong ninja like your father but don't take after your noisy brother okay?" replied Shino with a smile.
"My brother is on a different level." giggled Himawari.
~X~
After the graduation ceremony, the students were allowed to go to their parents. Naruto was busy with duties as a hokage and Hinata had Hyuuga duties to attend to but Himawari was more than happy enough to see her brother instead.

"Congratulations on becoming a genin, Hima-chan!" said Sarada as she patted Himawari's head.
"Shall we celebrate with some cinnamon buns? Or do you want ramen?" asked Mitsuki.
"WAIT! WHO IS IN YOUR TEAM DATTEBASA?!!" shouted Boruto.
"I haven't gotten them yet. We'll get the arrangements next week...." replied Himawari.
"Is there anyone in mind that you would want to have?" asked Sarada.
"Well......" said Himawari softly as there was a slight tint red on her cheeks.
"Ah of course, Himawari too must have someone she likes." said Mitsuki.
"WHAT?!! HIMAWARI TELL ME NOW!"
"E-Eh?! N-No!" said Himawari as she blushed heavily.
"It's the boy with the strange eyebrows right?" giggled Sarada.
"LET ME MEET WITH HIM NOW! I MUST FIGHT WITH HIM!"
"What's up with all the yelling so early in the morning?" sighed a voice from behind. It was the new Shika-Ino-Cho team, Shikadai, Inojin and ChoCho.
"You missed the ceremony." said Mitsuki.
"Whatever. It was troublesome to walk all the way here." sighed Shikadai.
"Congratulations on becoming a genin Himawari!" said Inojin.
"Now you're on the same ranks as us! Woohoo!" said ChoCho
"Thank you everyone! I'm thankful that all of you came to my graduation!" smiled Himawari.
"Since everyone's here, let's all go eat lunch dattebasa!"
"Like what? I'm not paying." shrugged Shikadai.
"Himawari's favourite. And I'll pay." said Inojin.
"Oh wow, what a gentlemen." said ChoCho.
"Did I say I'll pay for all of you? I'm only going to pay for Himawari's and myself." answered Inojin.
"WHAAAAAAT?!!!" shouted Boruto and ChoCho in unison.
Both Sarada and Himawari giggled at this scene. The laughter brought happiness to the Konoha village. Their very first mission 5 years ago brought the five of them closer, as if they were siblings.
They had high expectations from the Seventh Hokage, Uzumaki Naruto. He had a great hope of the future of ninjas. It was the start of everything.
Uzumaki Boruto, Uchiha Sarada, Nara Shikamaru, Yamanaka Inojin, Akimichi ChoCho and Uzumaki Himawari.
Their names will soon go down into the history of ninjas and become the new guidance for the next generation of ninjas.

Dungeons Are Bad Business
Vee Vales has been kicked out of his home and directed to make his own way in the world. Along with his friend Alforde Armorsoul, Vee travels to the city of Oar's Crest. Once a prosperous and well-to-do city, Oar's Crest has fallen into depression and disrepair. After finding a strange stone that takes up residence in a tattered top hat and introduces itself as Reginald, Vee and Alforde decide to open a dungeon in Oar's Crest to revitalize the city and, more importantly, make some fleurs. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Author's Note: Dungeons are Bad Business (DABB) is a slow burn slice-of-life dungeon core litRPG citybuilder that's focused on the day to day experience of running a dungeon. There will be some action, but it won't be the focus of the story and Vee and his friends will usually overcome their problems with their minds and their pocketbooks instead of their weapons. Since I'm participating in the writeathon, I will probably be uploading chapters almost daily for the duration of the event. Thanks for reading!

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
