《Senior Year》You Are Cut!

You slowed down to catch your breath. You walked into the classroom and drank some water from your water bottle.
"Y/n." you heard.
You turned around to see your director lower her eyes and gesturing you to come over to her. That look means trouble. You felt your heart sink.
You walked over to her.
"Why did you run in here?" she asked.
"I just got here." you said.
"Why did you text Gwen to tell me that you were running late?" she asked.
"I'm so sorry. I was at the library and I lost track of time. I didn't have a choice, but to text her." you explained.
She looked like she wasn't understanding the situation. In the corner of your eye, you could see the other cast members looking at the two of you.
"You know my rule about not sending friends on your behalf to tell me if you're gonna be late." she retorted.
"I know, but-" you said, but your director cut you off.
"You are cut from this play." she said sternly.
"What?" you questioned.
"Cut!" She said loudly.
"This isn't fair." Gwen said.
"YOU ARE CUT, Y/N!" she yelled.
The room grew silent for a few seconds. You felt tears developing in your eyes.
"Get out of my rehearsal space. Now!" she said firmly.
Every other kid in that room was quiet as they watched you. You walked away from her and grabbed your 31 bag. You went to the door and was about to walk out, when you turned back around.
"You may have won this battle, but you're gonna lose the war." you said, letting your tears roll down your cheeks.
You walked out of the room.
The other kids just stared at their director.

"What?" she questioned.
"That was so uncalled for." Gwen said.
"Yeah. You didn't even let her explain her side of the story." Jenna said.
"I knew exactly what happened. She was late, so she sent a friend to tell me that she was gonna be late." the director said.
"Well, some of us have been late to rehearsals in the past. Did you cut us? No." Sanjay said.
"Besides, it's too late in the game to cut one of the main characters. We don't have the time to recast our Snow White." Alex said, walking to the door.
"Where are you going, Alex?" Gwen asked him.
"I'm going after her." he answered, then walked out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~
You were walking down the hallway to get your car. You cried as you walked. That woman has caused you so much emotional pain, but you persevered because it's what you love to do.
Some kids walked past you with instruments and color guard flags.
'I should have done Color Guard.' you thought.
"Y/n!" a voice called.
You turned around to see Alex, who is Prince Charming in the play.
You turned back around and continued to walk. He catches up with you.
"Y/n, stop. I want to talk you." he said, coming in front of you. He put his hands on your arms.
"Why? Did she send you?" you asked. Tears were still streaming down your face.
"What? No. I want to talk to you about what happened. Gwen, Jenna, Sanjay, and I told her off. You don't deserve to be cut." Alex said.
He guided the two of you to a bench that was nearby. You explained what happened and even opened up about your past incidents with the teacher. All Alex could do was pull you into a hug.
