《Senior Year》The SAT

It's finally Friday, which is the first day of November. Today also means that it's the last day of the first quarter. The day went by fast because you didn't have much to do in Government and Algebra II. After school, you had to help set up for the National Honor Society's Fall Festival. You had to help out because it works towards your required volunteer hours that you need for graduation.
The festival lasted for three hours. The kids looked like they had lots of fun. It took a while to clean up, especially the Hay Maze. Good thing it wasn't like the actual Maze. Luckily, there were no Grievers and it didn't take three years to solve. After that, you went home. When you got home, the smell of steak filled the kitchen. You walked into the kitchen to see your dad with a big plate of steak and your mom was fixing three bowls of salad. All three of you sat the table and ate.
After eating, you studied for the SAT that you have tomorrow morning. You're very worried because you're not that confident in standardized tests. Also, your scores were terrible when you took the practice SATs.
You set an alarm for 6:00am. A teenager should NOT be allowed to wake up that early on a Saturday. You groaned as you got out of bed. You did your morning routine and went into the kitchen to fix a bowl of cereal. After eating breakfast, you went back into your room and turned your phone off of airplane mode. You texted your family because you know that they'll lift your spirit up, even though the phone.
It was about 7:00am. You decided to give yourself plenty of time to get to school because you can't predict morning traffic. You arrived at school and went down the hallways to find the testing rooms. A teacher checked you in and assigned you to a room.

When you walked in, another teacher assigned you to a desk. As you sat down, you saw something on the shelf underneath the chair. It was the Scorch Trials book. It was different because it had a different cover and pictures from the movie. You smiled as you looked at the book. You took two pictures of the book and the movie pictures that were inside. You sent them to the cast.
You flipped through some of the pictures and found some with Kelsey in it. The cast responded. Here's what they said:
Dylan: Good luck. You got this. 👍🏻
Thomas: Good luck, love. Just give it your best. I love you. 😘❤️
Ki Hong: Man, my hair looks good in the pictures. Oh, go get em, tiger. 🐯
Dexter: You got this, girl. Tell us how it went when you're done.
Alexander: Apparently, we'll be by your side during the test. 😂📖
Jacob: Good luck.🤞🏻🍀
Will: Anyone who can survive the Scorch, has what it takes to do a test.
Kaya: Good luck. Do your best. Update: my belly is getting big with my baby.
Rosa: That's better than facing Cranks.
Kat: You're gonna do fine. We believe in you.
Nathalie: At least it's not a WICKED test.
Wes: Good luck, Kelsey. I'll be thinking of you.
Their encouragement made you feel better. Then, the teacher told everyone to completely turn off their phones. She handed out the test booklets and went over the instructions.
[Five Hours Later]
After what seemed like forever, the test finally ended. You left school and got McDonald's for lunch. You spent the rest of the weekend relaxing.

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
