"Sure but I'll go with you to grab it." The car was only about 20 feet away from where we were sat but I agreed and went to get up, Paul mimicked my movements and stood to meet me.
Paul pov:
Y/n asked to get her jacket but I knew this was the perfect opportunity to talk with her. I stood up and walked over to her, she looked up at me for a moment before looking away towards the car and marching towards it. The walk there was pretty silent as I watched y/n's struggled steps as the sand slipped about under her feet. The wind blew past us again earning a little shiver from her
She's so cute, it's crazy how cold she gets
I thought with a chuckle, being a wolf had a lot of advantages one of which was that we never got cold. I few steps later we made it to my car she reached for the back door as the car unlocked, grabbing my hoodie and slipping it over her head she turned to me.
"Thank you." She said with a smile as she closed the door and went to step by my back to the beach.
"Y/n? Can we talk for a second?" I asked not expecting the amount of pleading that was obvious in my voice, she looked over her shoulder at me and offered me a smile.
"Of course! What's up?" She said smiling brightly at me even though the look in her eyes didn't quite match the peppiness in her voice. She turned towards me as I sheepishly scratched my head with my hand.
"So uh, about yesterday. I hope I didn't come off as pushy or anything. I was really worried when I saw you in the woods so I wanted to take you home and take care of you, I wasn't trying to pressure you or make you feel uncomfortable and I'm sorry if I did." As I said this I swear my eyes were everywhere but on her, an agonizingly long minute passed until I looked down at her again. She smiled at me her beautiful eyes seeming to catch the light of the moon as sparkles danced across her irises. Her face was tinted pink with a blush and then she let out an awkward laugh.

"Thank you for taking care of me. Also I didn't feel pressured by you at all." She said while smiling at me. I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding as my muscles relaxed, I didn't know I had felt so anxious about this that my body was all tense. Then a thought dawned on me.
"Wait, then why were you avoiding me?" I asked and her eyes grew wide for a moment before she looked down at her hands and busied herself playing with her thumbs.
"Uhhhh well I was embarrassed." She said refusing to look up at me. Little did this beautiful girl in front of me know but she never needs to feel embarrassed around me. She's the closest thing to perfection that I've ever experienced in my life. With that thought I let out a chuckle at her confession. Her eyes shot up to mine and a look of confusion and hurt flashed over her features before she dropped her hands to her side in little fists and turned from me with a 'humf'
"Never mind, let's just head back to the others." She said without looking back at me as she started walking back to the fire.
"Hey wait!" I called after her and she spun toward me again a light pout on her face.
"It's fine, I'm not upset let's just join everyone else." She said clearly upset but wanting to drop it. I couldn't let her walk back to them because I knew it meant she wouldn't talk to me the rest of the night. I reached out and grabbed her hand to try and pull her attention to me again.
"I'm sorry I laughed I just couldn't figure out what you were embarrassed about, if anything I should be the one embarrassed. I said a lot of stupid things that were definitely embarrassing." I said with a chuckle as her face softened and her hand grabbed mine back.

"Okay well just stop teasing me so much I never know when you're being serious or not." She said smiling at me again
god that smile makes my stomach flip!
"Deal." I said squeezing her hand before leading her back to the fire. Everyone seemed to be having a good time still until we reached them and Jake spoke up

Just a Rock
There was once a writer that felt like creating a story about a rock. A rock so amazing that its story just needed to be told. How amazing? Not amazing at all, on the contrary, quite ordinary. Don't believe me? Then read on. Edit: Resumed the story. Can’t do any more audio versions for now. I plan on editing some of the now non-applicable author notes and maybe rearranging the two side stories or combining them with the deleted chapters.

Wolf's Oath Book 1: Oath Sworn
In Aralt ‘Wolf” syr Tremayne’s world, skyships sail above tidal extremes, crystal swords are Tuned, and the soul-touched inspire both awe and fear. The latter doesn’t phase him, he carries a Tuned blade, and as for the ships…Aralt prefers to keep his feet on solid ground. Having finally laid to rest the ghosts of his past, he is unprepared when the grave gives one of them back. To his shame, it isn’t the one he wants. Lian Kynsei’s arrival upends Aralt’s life, but there is nothing he can do about it. Oath-bound to Lian, the last of a priestly clan, he is now defender of the scion of a faith he no longer shares. But the boy Aralt once knew is gone. In his place is a reckless, traumatized teen who can light the sky on fire. The more they get reacquainted, the less Aralt likes him—and the feeling is mutual. As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
