"Something good I hope?" I asked semi joking semi worried that she was second guessing this.
"Definitely." She said smiling at me and squeezing my hand again
Y/n pov:
We laid there for hours staring at the starts, talking about nonsense. It was nice, extremely nice. It felt natural even, like we were meant to be here in this moment together forever. That sounds stupid when I think like that but that's the exact feeling I felt laying on the beach holding Paul's warm hand in mine. However it was getting late and mom would definitely be worried so I knew it was time to head home, regardless of how much I didn't want to leave this boy.
"Hey" I said checking to make sure he was still awake next to me. I heard him duffle towards me and I turned to meet him.
"Hey" he said jokingly mocking me as I had mocked him earlier. A soft laugh escaped me which earned a toothy grin from the handsome man before me.
"We should probably pack up soon, my mom will worry." I said looking into his eyes as a small frown formed on his face.
"Yeah of course." He said getting up without disconnecting our hands and pulling me up to meet him. A little too quickly as my legs that had laid unused for so long lost their strength under my new found weight and I toppled forward into the warm chest in front of me. I gasped on impact but felt his arms behind me holding me to him for a moment before easing their hold. I looked up at the more then pleased boy above me and saw the mischievous grin on his face
"You did that on purpose." I said fake pouting as my arms slipped down from where they had originally braced for impact on his torso to his waist. His arms still wound around mine.

"Maybe I did or maybe it was just a happy lol accident." He said shrugging his shoulder as his arms pulled a in more. I placed my head on his chest in defeat and pulled my arms tightly around him. He hesitated for a moment before accepting my embrace and pulling me in to one of his own.
"You're so annoying." I whispered to myself but felt his body laugh in response. It felt nice, really nice. It reminded me of how safe I felt that night in the woods. His warmth radiating off of him in waves making it nearly impossible to pull away as the sounds of his heart beating seemed to usher calmness through me.
"This is nice." I said sighing into the embrace, to which Paul gave me a small squeeze.
"It really is." He said in a breathy sigh as if he was trying not to be too loud. I never wanted to leave this embrace. We stood for a few more minutes before I spoke again pulling away softly not wanting to leave.
"Why are you always so hot? It's freezing out here yet you're radiating more heat then the fire! But yet you never even wear shorts!" I teased in an exasperated voice pulling away more as his hands dropped to my waist if holding me at arms length. He smiled down at me with an unfamiliar look in his eyes before it switched to full on amusement.
"It's cause I'm a werewolf." He said with a smile.
Idiot
"Yeah haha and I'm a mermaid." I laughed back while lightly shoving him off me and beginning to gather the blanket and searched for a way to put out what remained of the fire. Paul walked up to it with a water bottle that one of the boys had left and doused it before turning to me and grabbing the blanket with one hand and grabbing mine with the other. He led me up the sand bank until we reached his car, he unlocked it and placed the blanket in the backseat while I got in to the passenger side. He climbed into the driver seat, turning the car on and put his hand out palm up by the center console. I looked over and saw him staring at me.

"What?" I asked not sure what he was asking me for.
"Can I hold your hand?" He asked sheepishly while making a grabbing motion with his. I couldn't help the giggles that bubbled their way out as I took his hand and he squeezed his fingers around mine. With that he pulled out of the spot we were in and began heading down the road

Serenity of the Crow
Fena can’t die. To most, this might be considered a blessing. To others, a curse. Fena doesn’t really care what other people call it: for her, it’s reality. She’s content to keep her head down while working for the Mercenary Guild, but a new contract arrives that threatens to drag her back to a past she wants nothing to do with. Haunted by her own thoughts and a crow that never seems to shut up, Fena is caught between confronting her past and preventing it from ever happening again. Indigo is alone. Her adopted mother is gone, and the witch that never gets her pronouns right is currently the most popular researcher at the Royal Academy. Worse still, she suddenly finds herself with shoes to fill that are so enormous they’re more like a swimming pool, while that same witch flaunts a research project that could get them all killed. With the expectations of her entire sect weighing on her like a lead weight, will Indigo sink or swim? Can she stop the White Witch’s project before it’s too late? Or will the twisted politics of the Royal Academy prove too much? This is my first published story, so hopefully it goes well! I welcome constructive criticism, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and theories about where the story is headed! WARNINGS:This story contains references to depression, anxiety, panic attacks, self-harm, sexual abuse and manipulation. I WILL mark trigger warnings on the chapters that contain such content, but read at your own risk. Additionally there will be plenty of violence and gore but I promise to put it to good use. Souls of Savagery
Souls of Savagery is a series of short stories intended to function much like a comic book series. However, to experience the complete story in a logical order you should read the volumes in numerical order, starting of course, with Volume 1: A Bloodbath by Any Other Name. Each volume is told from a single point of view and that will change from volume to volume. Though, the narrative will require later volumes to return to characters that have been featured previously. I hope you enjoy.
