《Alpha Mate》Epilogue

A love in my heart flickered at seeing the beautiful baby girl in front of me. I couldn't even explain the joy that came with seeing the precious darling sat in front of me.
Lilian was seated in a high chair dressed in a bib that read, "Daddy's little turkey." She was adorable sitting there in her Thanksgiving Day gear. I was truly grateful to call myself her aunt.
A soft giggle fell from her lips as I made faces at her and she clapped as I set a couple of peas in front of her.
"Are you hungry? Or just happy that daddy isn't forcing you to watch football anymore?" Obviously I didn't expect an answer, but that never stopped me from talking to her in my best baby voice.
"Hey! Quit making it sound like I torture her, my baby loves to watch football with me." Leo spoke as he stepped into the dining room.
"That's not what she told me."
"Shut up. She can't even talk yet."
I gasped and quickly covered Lilian's ears, though the poor thing was oblivious to what we were saying.
"You can't say that kind of stuff in front of her!"
"You're a terrible aunt." No matter how old we grew, he would never stop insulting me at every chance he got. I guess that's just how older brothers are.
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
Erin walked in just in time to interrupt our childish bickering. "You two need to stop that. Leo, I can't bring in much of the food on my own. Can you grab the turkey and place it on the table?"
"Of course, honey."
Now that the two of them were gone, my eyes met with Calum's from across the room. He slowly approached me. For some reason, he almost looked proud.

"What's that look for?" I asked when he stood in front of me.
He shrugged. "I guess I just like watching you interact with Lilian. It makes me excited for what it'll be like when we have kids of our own."
My cheeks immediately flushed. I'd be lying if I said I never thought about what the future holds for us, but I was not ready to discuss having babies yet. We were both happy and in love. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and I thought that just the two of us was perfect for now.
"We've talked about this before."
"I know. We will wait to start a family for as long as you want, doesn't mean I can't still daydream about when that time will come." Calum wrapped me up into an embrace and I was grateful to be off that particular topic.
Ashlyn walked in to see us hugging. "Aw. You guys are so cute together. It's almost time to eat."
"Are my parents here yet?" I asked her.
"Yeah. They're just getting out of their car now."
My parents had been my mother's old pack for the past several months. Now that they were no longer tied down to the Moonlight pack because of their responsibilities. My mom had really wanted to show my dad all the places she went when she was young and to spend more time with your great friends that still lived there. It was crazy how they had been together so long yet they still could learn more about each other.
Leaving everyone else inside, I ran outside to where my mom and dad were. I all but tackled them to the ground upon seeing them.
"We've missed you, hun." My mom said as she squeezed me tight.

"I missed you guys too."
We hugged for another few long seconds before I led them into the house. The table was set when we entered the dining room. Before sitting down, I introduced my parents to Ashlyn. My hands began shaking as I remembered this would also be the first time they met Calum.
"Mom and Dad, this is Calum. He's my mate."
My mom instantly reached out to hug him. "I'm so happy to finally meet you."
"The pleasure is all mine, Miss."
When they separated, my dad held out his hand, which Calum firmly shook.
"Nice to meet you, sir."
"Take care of my daughter."
"Yes, sir." This was the first time I had ever seen Calum look so intimidated. It was kind of humorous at how my big bad alpha mate looked so shaken up after meeting my father.
Together, we all took our seats and dug into the abundant meal displayed before us. It was a comforting feeling to be with my new big family this way. As we passed each other the dishes of food, it seemed as if we were one complete unit working in unison even if this was the first time we were all together.
Once everyone's plates were full, Calum and I were bombarded with questions.
"When am I getting another grandbaby?" This question came from my mom.
"Ask Leo. Calum and I have decided to wait a while longer before we start having kids."
"Good." My dad grunted before shoveling food into his mouth. He had never been too fond of the idea of me finding my mate one day.
"Why wait? You're not getting any younger."
"Mom, drop it. We're not ready yet. I haven't even officially become the pack's luna yet." I told her.
"Ooh, when is the ceremony?" She would never stop prying into my life, but she was my mother and I loved her for caring so much.
"In two weeks." Calum stated proudly. He's told me so many times in the past few days how happy he would be to have me running the pack with him. Even now, he beamed down proudly at me.
Erin took this time to chime in. "Wait until you see her dress. It's stunning."
Erin and Ashlyn had both been a great help to me in picking out my dress, among other things. They were more excited for the ceremony, whereas I was just excited to become luna and bound to Calum in another way. Those girls had planned nearly every detail for the event.
The girls at the table began discussing and swooning over all of the plans for the ceremony once again. It was heartwarming to see Ashlyn blend in so easy with my mom and sister-in-law.
Calum reached under the table and grabbed hold of my hand. I smiled at him before looking once more around the people sitting at the table. This was my family now, and I couldn't be happier to have them all in my life.
