《His Perfect Doll》Chapter 17

I awoke to a soft whimpering. I opened my eyes and looked down to see Copper. I sighed and picked him up. I placed him on the bed beside me.
Peter was nowhere to be found, which made me relieved. I settled back into the bed and gently pet Copper.
"They're going to find us, Copper. And then you, Dove, and I can be free," I whispered. Copper's eyes closed.
I waited until Copper was asleep to creep out of bed. I needed to find Dove.
I walked out of the room and saw Dove sleeping on the couch. I sighed in relief and crept back to the bed.
I laid back down next to Copper and fell asleep again.
~~~
It was hard to leave Daisy alone. Especially when I knew how much she loved me and would be worried about me. She was probably awake right now, wondering where I had gone and when I would be back.
I sighed and tried to shake those thoughts out of my head. Besides, she had that stupid mutt and Dove. Not that they compared to me, but it would keep her company.
I know that Daisy might have been mad at me for making love with her. She might have thought we were going too fast, but sometimes she didn't know what was good for her. We needed to start a family anyways.
I decided to start driving back home. I had already bought food. I was also missing Daisy.
I parked and got out of my car, walking into my house.
"Daisy, baby, I'm home!" I called. I walked into our bedroom and found her sleeping next to Copper. She looked so peaceful.
"Daisy, baby," I whispered. I shook her gently and she woke up.
"What the fuck do you want?" She asked.
"Did you miss me?"
"Fuck no."
"Now, now, Daisy, you know you love me."
"Just fuck off."
I huffed and laid next to her. Well, until I heard sirens.
"They're here!" Daisy exclaimed. "They've come to rescue me!"
Alarmed, I quickly put one hand over her mouth and one on her nose. Her eyes popped open and she thrashed.
"Shh, it's only for a little," I said. She soon went limp. I dragged her body into the living room and then woke up Dove. I pressed a knife against her throat and ordered her to stand up.
"There are cops outside, if you make a peep, I'll slit your throat, understand?" I asked. She nodded.
I called for Copper and he happily stood by me. I picked up Daisy and went out the backdoor, ushering everybody.
It was cold outside, fresh snow on the ground. But I couldn't let this stop me. It would be easier to hide my footsteps, anyways.
I started to run with Dove in front of me. I couldn't let the police find me.
"We are police, open up!" I said, banging against the door.
"I'm going to give you to the count of three to open this fucking door."
"One."
"Two."
"Three! That's it!"
I kicked my foot against the door and it swung open. I rested a hand on my gun, just in case.
"Powell, we know you live here!" I shouted. Chad followed close behind me, looking behind him occasionally.
"Come out! We know that you have Daisy as well!"
The house was dead silent. I growled and walked into a bedroom. The bed was messy, so someone had slept there. The bathtub was still wet, as well.
There were bags of groceries on the counter of the kitchen. The frozen items in the bags were still frozen.
I explored the house until I found the back door. It was wide open. A pool of melted snow started to gather inside the house.
"Fucking Powell."
To Become a Troll: A Monster Evolution Story
Thrust into the supernatural world of the deep forest, Paul finds himself in a situation where he could find himself prey to pretty much every other creature and animal around. If he's to survive, he must shed his weak form to grow stronger and survive. But the forest is full of creatures beyond human understanding, that act without the need for food or shelter and that seem to exist for the sole purpose of dragging humans to the bottom of a murky river. Is it really possible to kill such creatures when your only strength is physical prowess? --- A monster evolution story based on Swedish creature mythology. The focus will overwhelmingly be on the progression of the main character and his slow increase in strength. Although many of the creatures are based on Swedish creature mythology, I have taken creative liberties in order to ensure that evolution lines and the such are in line with the usual. The main thought I had when going into this is that I want to delay the "meeting a human" section as much as possible. My plan is to get him to endgame levels of strength before even sniffing the possibility of seeing a human. Whether I'm actually able to do this remains to be seen, but I'm holding my thumbs! Also, I'm aware that there are other troll evolution stories, but this is unrelated to them. They can do their stuff and I'll do mine, but this is in no way related to any of them. That said, hope you enjoy it!
(This is my first novel, though the idea for it has been in the back of my mind for years, This is my attempt to put it to paper. Looking forward to any constructive criticism, however, i already have in mind, the entire plot and tone of the story, any revisions based on feedback will likely only be considered upon completion. As of now starting out, i haven't really settled on a timeline for regular updates But I aiming for at least two chapters a week at about 2000 words each. I will promise at least one chapter of that size at least once a week, until completion. I'm rather determined to put this story on paper ( or web page i guess).
Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.
Though, once Tenner broke out of his neighborhood - a prison isolated from the rest of the world - things didn't all go according to plan. He didn't expect that the world was a wasteland. He didn't expect creatures, hungry for juicy human flesh, to live in that wasteland. He certainly wasn't ready for Realms, massive sphere cities run by mysterious Workers, and their mad priests. On top of all that, the ghosts of his past wouldn't let go of him... This was going to be one hell of a journey. Updated twice a week Volume 1 is finished. Volume 2 is running.
