It's been a week since Jimin started to stay at Yoongi and I's place and so far its been good. Instead of going back home to get everything, Jimin just bought new clothes, toothbrush and whatever else he needed.
His phone still blew up with messages and he was tempted to get a new number but he knew he shouldn't hide forever. He knew he needed to talk to his mother.
I wake up, seeing Jimin still asleep next to me. I sit up and stretch.
Jimin's phone starts vibrating next to mine and I groan, knowing that his mother is calling him. I let it ring for a little until it stops. A ding follows soon after, signalling that he got a text.
I look over at Jimin's sleeping figure before picking up his phone to see the message.
Jimin has been hiding the messages from me recently and I want to know what they've been talking about.
I unlock his phone and open the messenger app. I open the chat with his mother and read the most recent text.
I know where you are, stop hiding, It reads and I stare at it for a few moments before scrolling through the previous messages. Many of them have to do with Jimin's mother telling him that he knows that he's with me and that if he doesn't come back something bad will happen.
I lock his phone, putting it back into place and leave the bedroom. I walk to the kitchen and start making cereal.
"Hey," Jimin says, walking into the kitchen.
"Good morning," I say, smiling at him. "Your mom called earlier,"
"Oh well," Jimin shrugs.
"She texted you too," I say and Jimin looks up at me.
"Really?" He says slightly nervously.

"Yeah," I say, taking a bite of my cereal. "What have you guys been talking about?"
"Nothing, you don't need to worry,"
"Alright, just be careful," I say. "I don't want anything to happen,"
Jimin nods, getting a bowl out to make himself cereal.
"Lets go out today," I say, I haven't spent much alone time with Jimin and we have nothing else to do.
"We could run into my mother or Umji," Jimin says, bringing up a good point.
"Then we'll have to be extra careful," I say.
"Alright, where are we going?"
"We could go get ice cream then go to the beach," I say and Jimin smiles at me.
"That sounds good, I'll go get changed,"
I nod and we both finish our cereal. Jimin walks away to change and I clean our bowls before going to my room.
I walk to my closet and put on a white t-shirt and red shorts. Jimin comes out of the bathroom wearing a black shirt with black shorts. We put on our flip flops and leave the house.
"Let's go~" I say, grabbing Jimins hand. We walk down the sidewalk to the nearby ice cream shop.
We enter the little shop and walk up to the counter.
"Hello, What would you two like?" The man at the counter asks.
"One scoop of vanilla and one scoop of strawberry for both of us," I tell the boy. He nods and starts making our ice cream cones.
He hands them to us and we pay him.
"Thank you, please come again," The boy says and we smile at him before we leave.
We walk outside and I take Jimins hand with my free one. We walk down the sidewalk in silence, happily eating our ice cream.

Minutes later we start walking on the boardwalk that will take us to the beach.
Soon, after we're halfway done with our ice cream cream cones, we step into the warm sand.
"The water is so pretty," Jimin says and I nod, agreeing. We finish our cones and I pull him towards the water.
I take my flip flops off and let the waves cover my feet and I smile as I feel the cool water.
We go a little deeper in, as far as we can without getting our clothes wet.
I gasp as I feel the cold water hit my side and I look over to see Jimin laughing. Forgetting about keeping our clothes dry, and happy we left our phone at home, we start splashing each other.
"Stop!" Jimin yells, laughing.
I laugh and stop splashing him, pulling him back to shore.
We leave the water and Jimin smile at me, shivering slightly. I wrap my arms around him and laugh as we walk back to my place, talking about random stuff.

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
