I sigh, the wedding is in less than a month.
Neither Umji or I want to get married and she's asked her parents to cancel it but my mother it too stubborn.
I put a lot of trust in Umji since she found out about Taehyung, and I hope she trusts me enough not to call the police.
"I think this place is too small, why don't we find a bigger venue?" My mother suggests.
Currently, her, Umji and I are looking at the venue we chose. Umji and I both wanted it to be small, not wanting a huge wedding for something fake.
"I think this one is fine- maybe a little too big," Umji suggests.
"No!" My mother snaps, making both Umji and I jump. She's been more rough recently, getting mad over simple things. It scares me that based on I make a small mistake, I have no idea what she could do to Taehyung. "This one is too small, we need to have a huge wedding,"
Umji stays quiet and I lock eye contact with her.
She looks down and we continue walking.
"This wedding is going to be amazing, I can already see it," My mother continues to talk before turning to us. "Aren't you two excited?"
Umji and I share glances again before I look away and at my mother, giving her a fake smile.
"Very," I force out.
"Great!" She replies. "Well, since we didn't agree on this venue, lets move on to the next one,"
"Next one?" Umji blurts out. My eyes widen, confused.
We all decided on this venue last week and we agreed to only look at this one and choose a different one some other day if we didn't like it. Apparently my mother had different ideas though.

"Yes, another one," My mother says, giving Umji a fake smile. "I didn't like this one to begin with so I chose another one,"
"Its bigger and better," My mother continues. "And it matches the theme very well, coral and turquoise,"
"Wait, I thought our wedding colors were going to be lavender and white," I say. Umji and I already agreed on these and now my mother's going to change everything again.
"Those are too basic, coral and turquoise will pop and make everything brighter," She replies. "And I suggest you stop talking back if you don't want anything bad to happen,"
I clench my jaw, mad that once again, she's using Taehyung's safety against me.
Hopefully she'll keep her promise and let him go after the wedding.
"Now lets move on, shall we?" My mother says.
We stay quiet while traveling to the second venue my mother has chosen.
We start walking around, examining the area when Umji finally speaks.
"I can't believe the wedding is only two weeks away," She says, pretending to be happy but her tone is a little uneasy.
"About that," My mother says. "I think it would be better to bump it back,"
"Why would we need to do that? We already bumped it back a month and we already ordered the food and everything for then," Umji says.
"We can always reschedule," My mother replies.
"But that would be too much work, they were already annoyed when we changed it the first time," I say. "The flower people already wanted to drop us- and you were the one who claimed that they were the only flower place that was perfect,"
My mother stays quiet for a few minutes, giving me a dirty look.

"Fine. We wont change it," She says. "Now, lets go. This place is perfect, we'll have it here,"
"This place looks a little big though... I liked the last one better," Umji says.
"Shut up!" My mother yells, scaring the both of us.
"S-sorry..." Umji says softly.
My mother closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. Then she puts a fake smile on her face and opens her eyes.
"Great. Now lets go," She says and we leave the sight.
Hopefully she wont take her anger out on Taehyung.
