I arrive at school again and open my locker to get the books I need. Mike approaches me.

"Hey. How are you feeling?" He almost stutters as if he had been rehearsing the question.

"I'm feeling fine thanks Wheeler."

"Well you don't need to worry about that happening ever again because I'm going to look after you."

"I appreciate the thought but you look after me?" I scoffed and Mike looked unhappy.

"Be grateful!" He teased.

"Whatever."

Me and Mike had different lessons today although I was sat by Will.

"How's things?" He asked me.

"Why do you want to know?"

"Mike just told me about- and I didn't want to uh.."

I quickly interrupted him knowing he was getting upset.

"No don't worry about it honestly Will! But thanks for asking."

Will had a very different personality from the others in the group. He was soft and emotional which I like. I remembered what Max had told me about him being taken by the demogorgan.. now I feel quite bad for him.

I needed a break from the guilt so I asked to go to the bathroom but instead took a stroll around the school. I found a cool spot in the field. I was there for about 15 minutes before I headed back to lesson. In the almost empty corridor, this figure was recognisable. Eleven.

She ripped a blindfold from her eyes and stomped toward me, blood dripping from her nose.

"What are you doing?!" I asked cowering into a corner.

"Mike! Where is Mike?!" She demanded.

"I don't know! I'm not sharing a class with him."

"You stole Mike!"

"Listen Eleven. I understand he was your boyfriend but you need to let him have other friends. Just like you are friends with Will and Lucas and Dustin means he can be friends with me! You might think your better than him because you have superpowers but your wrong! So leave me and him alone!" I yelled and stomped back to class. She looked astonished and I was quite proud of myself for standing up to her.

Will noticed my upbeat mood and gave me a 'what's going on?' Look.

"Just having a good day." I whispered back to him. I think me and Will are going to be great friends.

At lunch Mike came and sat by me and Will, quickly followed by Max, Lucas and Dustin. I noticed Max and Lucas were holding hands under the table but she never said much about them being a thing. I'll have to ask about it later. I noticed Eleven sat alone at a table picking at some gross cafeteria food. I went and approached her but Mike looked mad.

"Hey. Do you wanna come sit with us?" I asked her.

She shook her head and didn't make eye contact.

"Well. Could I sit with you? Just us?"

She shrugged and I took a seat beside her.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

"Sorry?"

"Yes. For shouting. I just wanted to let you know how I felt but I could of said it nicer."

"I'm sorry for using my powers on you. I was just upset that Mike did not like me but he liked you."

"I'm sure you will find someone who loves you for who you are." She smiled at me and i smiled back. I noticed the party all staring at me with wide eyes. Mike ready to jump out of his seat if anything happened. I chuckled slightly at their hilarious expressions.

"Huh?" Eleven asked.

"Oh it's nothing."

The bell rung for lessons and we headed off our separate ways. The party all ran up to me.

"What the hell y/n! You could've got hurt! You know you can't get hurt!" Mike yelled.

"Calm down Mike. She was just vulnerable. When I got to know her she's actually pretty sweet." I gulped before finishing. "I see why you like her."

"Liked." He spoke emphasising the past tense. "I like someone else now."

Max quickly interrupted. "She's actually a pretty cool friend. You just have to be careful and not get on her bad side."

I nodded. Me and Mike had the next lesson together. He sat beside me and I could see something was on his mind. Whilst busy doing my work I felt my knee tense up. I looked down to reveal Mike had his hand gently placed on it. I looked up and caught eye contact to which he quickly removed it.

"Sorry is that.."

"No it's fine." I smiled.
