"Of course it's Eleven! You never liked me Mike. Admit it." I spat.

"No.. I did. I mean I do! I love you y/n."

"Bullshit!"

"Please let me explain."

"Oh yeah I understand. You will make up a shitty story which you expect me to believe. And then I'll 'fall in love'. Then you'll break my heart!"

"No. Please y/n."

"No Mike. Go find your girlfriend. I bet she's missing you."

I stomp off and head back to Max. She looks astonished at my behaviour and me and Mike gained quite a crowd.

"Like my performance?" I groaned.

"I guess half of Hawkins liked it." She smirks referencing to the crowd.

"Did you know he liked Eleven?"

"No. Honestly he's just been really distant so nobody knew what was up. We all thought he was just missing you but I guess we were wrong.."

I sigh but Max continues.

"He's stupid. I bet you will find someone hundreds times better than him."

"Let's talk about something else." I suggest as I try and enjoy shopping. We head into scoops ahoy for some ice cream. We are greeted by Steve who is talking to Dustin. Dustin runs up to us.

"Y/n! What are you doing here?" He smiles.

"Oh I came back here! I told you guys I would."

"Great to see you!" He smiles and pulls me in for a hug.

"Not trying to be rude but what are you doing hanging out with him??" I gesture to Steve who is like years older than us.

"He's my friend. Like a brother to me." Dustin brings Steve forward.

"Uh hey guys." Steve shrugs.

Before I could greet him. Another girl with a blonde Bob runs up to the counter.

"Welcome to Scoops Ahoy! How may I serve you?"

"Actually these are my friends." Dustin interrupts.

"Oh. Thought they were above you guys..." Robin smirks.

I laugh and Dustin gives a disapproving look.

"Sorry... uh can I have a cookies and cream scoop please?" I ask. She begins serving it up sloppily.

"And can I have strawberry please." Max adds.

"That's $5 please."

"Can't they get a discount?" Steve suggests.

"Yeah listen to him." I point.

"Fine on the house. Only because I like you guys." Robin smiles and we say goodbye to everybody.

We walk out and see Mike again with Lucas and Will getting on their bikes. Mike gives me a pleasing look.

"What the hell does he want?" Max mutters.

Lost in a trance, I don't realise he's approaching us.

"Y/n. Please let me speak to you."

"About??"

"Us. I need to tell you about what's going on. You can come back to my place like old times."

I look over to Max and she's shaking her head.

"Give me a moment." I tell him and pull Max to a corner.

"What do I do?" I whisper shout.

"Im not sure. Do you want to forgive him "

"I guess your right. But I at least wanna hear him out."

"Ok. Go with him. But please don't be long and worry me. He's a creep."

"Shut up. I'll be back by 7." I wave at Max and she skates away.

"Fine." I say to him."

"Wha- really- i um—."

"Spit it out."

"Look here's what happened.. when you were gone I missed you so much. I tried writing to you everyday but the stamps got to expensive and my Mom started to refuse.. then I missed you so much I tried to.."

"Replace me?"

"Yes." He nodded with an ashamed look on his face.

"Look I thought I liked eleven again but seeing you made me realise that I just used her as a distraction. And it made me feel horrible. Which is why I have to talk to you again."

"But why should I?"

"What?"

"Why should I trust you??"

"I don't know... I'm just so sorry. Even if we are just friends."

"I like you more than a friend and you know that." I admit.

"Then we can be like we used too. I'll do anything for you. I love you."

"But it's not the same."

Mike smashed his lips against mine and the rain began to pour. He ran his fingers through my damp hair and I pulled away.

"I missed you."
