"How did you get this?" He mutters, his eyes pricking with tears.

"I found it.. to be honest I found 'Castle Byers' it's what kept me going."

"I feel so stupid.. I'm sorry."

"What for?"

"For being embarrassing and drawing that picture. I bet you think I'm some creep."

I shake my head and pull him in for a hug. I can't seem to lift myself up but he shuffles closer.

"I think I'm the one who needs to apologise.."

"Why?"

"You know why. I shouldn't of.. used you."

Will nods.

"I just really want us to be friends, bestfriends."

"I'd like that."

A few doctors burst into the room.

"Hello y/n." One of them gestures at me and Will leaves the room.

"Hello?"

"You are probably very confused. You had a bad seizure and you were left in a temporary coma. We do have your final diagnosis here."

I nod.

"Unfortunately, you will be using a wheelchair for the time being."

Those words hit like bricks. A wheelchair? For the 'time being?'

"How long is time being?!" I yell in frustration, I try to get up out of the bed but my legs are frozen in place, it's like somebody's superglued me to the sheets.

"For at least a month. You will have to come here once a week so we can check up on you. We are hoping it's not permanent but we can't be sure."

I shake my head in disbelief. How will I skate? How will I hang out on Mike's bed? How will I sneak out of my bedroom when I'm grounded? How will I fight off Billy when he gets on my nerves? All the things I wanted to say just ended up in tears.

"Your boyfriend is desperate to see you. You were the first person we told. Do you want to tell everyone or should we?" The doctor finally buts in.

I'm lost for words. I try and hide my face, I just want to disappear. The doctors leave the room and Mike hurries into the room.

"Y/n?" He asks. He's never seen me like this.

"What did they do to you!?" He yells.

"They did nothing Mike." I spit. I shouldn't be taking out my anger on him when all he's done is help me.

Mike sits on the bed and strokes my forehead.

"I thought I lost you." He whispers.

"You may aswell of done."

"What?"

"It doesn't matter."

"As soon as this is all over I'll take you out, to the rooftop like old times."

I suddenly sob. Mike doesn't realise I'll never be able to go to the rooftop because I'm in a stupid wheelchair.

A part of me wants to tell him, get it over with. But what if he doesn't want anything to do with me after..

"Y/n.. what's going on? Please talk to me!" Mike sounds worried.

"I just need some time alone."

Mike gives me a tight squeeze and leaves the room.

I can see his reflection in the glass door, it's nice to see he's waiting. I shut my eyes but I can't sleep, my mind is racing.

"I just need some time alone." She finally mutters.

I hug her tight. I don't want to ever have to leave but I respect her decision. I think this whole thing has shaken her up. I exit the room and pace outside for a while, I'll wait until she's asleep and then check on her.

The doctors approach me.

"Hello Mike." They are rolling a wheelchair into her room?

"What's that?" I ask bluntly.

"It's y/n's wheelchair?" The doctor seems confused that I didn't know. Why didn't y/n tell me..

That's why she was so upset.. she probably thinks I'll hate her.

"Can I take the wheelchair to her?" I quickly ask the doctor. He looks tired.

"It's supposed to be doctors only that deliver the wheelchairs."

"Please. She'll handle it a lot better if it's me."

"Fine."

I squeeze onto the handles. I kind of like it. I'll get to push y/n around wherever she wants to go, and I'll buy her loads of supplies to decorate it, and I can carry her places and make sure she is happier than ever.

I just hope she feels the same way..
