《Elves Of Old Series : Unforeseen Events》Chapter 9 A Change Of Mind

When we arrived back in the Summer court, it took a few days to get the Manor back to its former glory, all the cleaning and repairing and replacing the priceless objects.
One night in a dream, I was standing back in my cell. Eragon came out of the shadows.
“What you asked Lord Gangly to do took courage, I am impressed.” He said with a reassuring smile.
“I knew I was never going back, and it would be for the best.”
“Yes, but asking him to remove every memory of you that your mortal friends and family have is quite..... intense.”
“I did what I had to do.”
“Alright then, just don't regret it.”
The dream faded and I was left to sleep contently.
Many months after coming back from Under the Mountain, I was planning my "joining the court" party. Eight weeks before, when Arramen asked if I would like to formally join and swere my loyalty to Arramen as my high lord.
Farross’s friend, Saphira had gotten very excited and was supposidly helping me plan it. I felt it was slowly turning into her planning it and me just saying ‘Yeah sure whatever you want’. I was getting so bored so quickly.
"I still don't see the point in all this." We had been sitting here for almost two hours. Slowly sorting out seating arrangements for hundreds of people who I had never seen let alone met.
“Oh no we can’t have those two sitting next to each other. They will fight to the death.” Saphira said ignoring me completely. I sighed with frustration, I had also learned that when some one said ‘they will fight to the death’ to take it seriously because they would without hesitation. It was pretty disconcerting.

“We are planning one of the biggest nights of your life and you aren’t even listening to me” Saphira complained. Ugh, she was making it sound like it's my wedding.
Ignoring her, I thought about more pressing matters, I hadn’t heard from Eragon in all the months I was at the Summer court.
Our deal was that I would go to his court the last week of every month, if he healed me, which he had, but he still hadn’t come to take me to the night court.
With me swereing undieing loyalty to the summer court happening the next day and also being too distracted and too bored of hearing her annoing voice to listen to Saphira. I gave up and headed up stairs to try on my dress that had arrived that morning.
My dress was a hideous thing, it was a disgusting off white and had overly puffy sleeves. Its flamboyant skirt was layered in a way that reminded me of uses tissues. I loathed the dress with all my soul. But I had no choice it was apparently a traditional dress and I didn't want to argue with Saphira. It was too much effort.
Changing back into my normal dress, I went down stairs to have dinner.
“Your excited about tomorrow, aren’t you” said Saphira.
“Yes, of course she is” said Farross, I nodded and forsed a smile hopping it looked reassuring.
Waking early the next morning, I could already here guests arriving. Aryanna came in to my room with breakfast and to get me ready. She helped me get dressed and did my hair, a fluffy bun with flowers in it was the end result.
Saphira came upstairs to take me to the ceremony.
The gardens looked like someone had got a bit too excited with pink and white rose petals. Looking up the aisle I saw Arramen standing with a small knife in his hand. Walking slowly and forcing myself to move forward I approached him.

A few meters away from him I realised what I was acctualy about to do. I stopped, just stopped right there. I couldn’t move forward, I was not going to let him cut my hand open and let my blood drip into a bowl. I would have to say no. Saphira gave me a little nudge forward.
“NO, NO, NO, I CAN’T DO IT!” I screamed in my mind.
Behind me a loud cracking sound rang out. Turning quickly, I saw two Elves. Eragon and Septimus. I was so relieved. They both kept there eyes on Arramen, Eragon gave him a wolfish grin. “I have come to call in with our little bargain Luna and I made whilst you did nothing Under the Mountain.”
Looking to me Arramen demanded, “Is this true?”
Eragon's grin became even more devilish, if that was even possible, "Oh so our darling Luna didnt tell you, Well I am surprised"
I started forward but my arm was suddenly clenched so hard I thought it would bruise.
"She isn't going anywhere" Saphira of all people said.
"A bargain is a bargain." I said surprising everyone.
I pulled my arm really hard, ripping it from Saphira's death grip.
Septimus held out his hand and I took it, Eragon took his other hand.
The last thing I heard was Saphira screeching, before the world desolved into shadows.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line. Fire on Fire
"This is so wrong ..." Emma breathed out against his lips when he pinned her up against the wall."Is it?" Alexander echoed, slipping his hands underneath her large sweater, grazing her lips."She's my friend ..." Emma argued weakly, albeit unwilling to push him off."Don't think about it." He merely replied, starting to nibble on her neck.As his lips nipped down on her sensitive skin, Emma let out a breathless moan and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, so that he could hook her legs around his torso, effectively seizing her in his arms. The walk to his bedroom was short, and before she could say anything, she found herself on his bed, him hovering over her. His every touch was inebriating, the way his lips knew exactly where to go in order for her to lose sight of her moral duties, the way his hands skillfully caressed every inch of her skin, as if savoring it in advance, was driving her insane. And when she met his fiery gaze, Emma knew she was doomed. She had no chance but to surrender to this devil that was tempting her, pushing her towards something that - she was well aware - would be difficult to give up on once set in motion.
