《Performance》Act 1; Scene 7

Logan Logos likes to think he's simple. Of course he does, that's how he was raised. Anything complicated isn't necessary. He wasn't raised to understand emotions, he was taught to lock them away. The only thing that matters is the mind. That means good grades, good school, good future. He will one day take over the family business, so he needs to be prepared. Logan doesn't mind taking over the business, in fact, he probably would've gone into business, anyway. But, he wishes he wasn't raised like a robot. He used to think Janus and Roman were messing with him when they repeatedly told him to let himself experience emotions. But once he broke down to them, after getting a B- on an English test, he thought that they my be right. Logically, a B- is a good grade, and he shouldn't worry about it. But he never gets anything less than an A, and he had no clue on how his parents would react. Either way, he knew that it wasn't normal to be a crying, hyperventilating mess over it. So, when he was alone with Roman and Janus, he let himself express whatever he happened to be feeling. And it felt amazing. And freeing, and god, why would his parents keep this form him? He started doing research, and experiments and he discovered it was healthy, even. Sure, not all the emotions that you experience seem to make sense, not at first. But having emotions is perfectly logical. Happiness and a sense of fulfilment gave life purpose. He didn't realize how bland he felt before, but without people feeling passionate and motivated about their arts, be it architecture, science, engineering, music, dancing, the world didn't move forward. If humans didn't enjoy surviving, why would they be motivated to keep surviving? If humans couldn't feel happy or wonder over the fact that they exist, despite the odds, then why would it matter? Humans need to enjoy things in order to be motivated to do them, otherwise they'd just drop them and the world would fall apart.

Sadness was a bit harder to figure out. But he realized that it helped him grow. Feelings like sadness, disappointment, pain...they put him on level with everyone else. Accomplishment can fill you with a sense of pride, too much can make you think you're invincible. Feeling pain and sadness balance that out, it shows you that you're not invincible. You're not the most important person in the world, because other's are living there, too. But that's okay. Because you'll get over it, you'll learn, and you'll be stronger. You won't be perfect, but you don't wanna be perfect.
He learned that emotions give life meaning, and they make it worth it. He doesn't always understand his own emotions, but as he analyzes them with his friends, afterwards. He's slowly becoming an expert. His parents forcing him away from this part of himself hurts.
Logan was standing with the loner boy when Roman's brother came up and started rambling in Spanish. Virgil responded, and that's when Roman showed up in a panic. Janus came over not too long over and took us to the side, and that's where we are now.
Janus was speaking, "Why is Remus here?"
Both Roman and Logan shook their heads, Logan speaking up, "We don't know, he just appeared."
Roman felt like he was gonna die and fall to hell right now, "He can't be seen with me! We look too similar! If my parents find out he's been discovered, they'll have my head!"
Janus hushed him, "Your parents can't legally do anything drastic. If Remus is spotted, they'll have to worry about what their story is gonna be, and they'll be forced to acknowledge Remus' existence."
Roman thought for a minute, "And, for "publicity" I would have to "pretend" to be nice to him. My parents couldn't punish either of us if he were to be exposed, because it would look suspicious if one of us suddenly went silent. And, if they did try something, and covering it up, they couldn't avoid losing public favor if one of us leaks something they don't address it."

Logan pondered on this scheme, "Using their audience against them. It's a win for us, either way."
Janus spoke up, "Patton managed to get me to agree to hangout with him and Virgil at least once at the Hearts' Content Café...he wanted me to bring you two."
Roman grinned. He might get to pull one on his parents, "I'm sure he wouldn't mind one more." Roman has his doubts, his stomach is churning with unease. But, if this goes right, then it'll be worth it.
The trio turns back to the boys they left and invite them along, much to their confusion.
This could go really well, or really really bad.

Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons: Year One
Build a Dungeon. Slay Heroes. Survive Finals. Wounded Army vet Logan Murray thought mimics were the stuff of board games and dungeon manuals… right up until one ate him. In a flash of snapping teeth, Logan suddenly finds himself on the doorstep to another world. He’s been unwittingly recruited into the Shadowcroft Academy for Dungeons—the most prestigious interdimensional school dedicated to training the monstrous guardians who protect the Tree of Souls from so-called heroes. Heroes who would destroy the universe if it meant a shot at advancement. Unfortunately, as a bottom-tier cultivator with a laughably weak core, Logan’s dungeon options aren’t exactly stellar, and he finds himself reincarnated as a lowly fungaloid, a three-foot-tall mass of spongy mushroom with fewer skills than a typical sewer rat. If he’s going to survive the grueling challenges the academy has in store, he’ll need to ace the odd assortment of classes—Fiendish Fabrication, Dungeon Feng Shui, the Ethics of Murder 101—and learn how to turn his unusual guardian form into an asset instead of a liability. And that’s only if the gargoyle professor doesn’t demote him to a doomed wandering monster first…
