The science fiction author was found by her best friend, photographer Olivia Huntley, at around 10:00 on Saturday morning, lying bruised and bloody in her living room. There were no weapons found in her apartment, meaning that whoever did this used only their hands, making it harder to find who it is.

Huntley says Matthews was suppose to meet her boyfriend, Supernatural actor Jared Padalecki, at the airport that morning at 8:00. When she didn't show, Padalecki immediately called Huntley and let her know.

As of now there are no suspects, though Matthews' close friend and model Andrew Lockhart dropped a hint that he might know someone who could have had something to do with it. We are not permitted to disclose the suspect at this time.
