《Raising Rio》31| straight from heaven

The bright sunlight shone through the glass window that led to the balcony, where Rio and and Carson where performing what would be seen as unholy acts a couple of hours before.
Both Rio and Carson where sprawled out on the super king size bed with dozens of blankets laid across their bare frames and Carson's arm wrapped around Riri's waist protectively.
Even in his unconscious state he needed to protect and keep his girlfriend close to him.
Their peaceful moment was no more when the cringing sound of Rio's alarm blared throughout the room, causing Carson to let out a groan of annoyance and Rio to let out a small sigh of her own before getting out of bed to get to her phone.
Turning off her alarm, she climbed back into the comfort of her memory foam mattress and snuggled back into her boyfriend's arms.
CJ being the adorable prick he is began to trace the outline of her perfectly shaped nose, he never knew how he managed to have an Angel in his life and for that he prayed to and thanked his parents every night for sending an Angel straight from heaven.
"Happy Birthday, Angel." He kissed the tip of her nose to which Rio returned the favour. "Thank you, baby."
However, their perfect moment was ruined when banging on Rio's bedroom door separated them in shock. "Oi Rio, the jet leaves in two hours we need to get a move on.
Oh and Happy Birthday, I would come in and give you some lovin', but I am sure Carson is already doing that for you!" The familiar sound of Rio's Nona spoke through the door.
Carson and Rio turned towards each other with what would be seen as horror in both of their eyes, Rio's grandparents had heard them both and that was enough for Rio to fly away to a random country and never to return.

With a loud cackle, Nona's footsteps could be heard retreating from the barrier between the hall and Rio's room. It was accurate to say Nona heard everything, luckily enough Popo was knocked out asleep.
*
It was now midday and the Aidensfield/James clan had their luggage loaded onto the jet, whilst Nona and Popo where conversing with their son and grandsons, who had decided to make sure they got onto their plane safely and Carson who was talking with the pilot, the youngest Esposito brother approached Rio.
Charlotte on the other hand was no where to be seen, not like Rio cared after she betrayed her only child.
"Marcello, what do you want?" Rio huffed and crossed her arms in front of her chest, she just wanted to be up and out of New York and back to Brazil. He shuffled on his feet and let out a shaky sigh, he was close to tears at how they acted like they barely knew each other, but he knew it was his own fault.
"I want to apologise, I want to say I am sorry for everything that happened before you left and for everything that happened after you left."
"Is that what you want? You just want my forgiveness? Well I forgive you okay, so just leave me alone." Rio turned around ready to walk onto the plane.
Tears brimmed in the corners of his eyes and as much as Rio hated to admit it, she was getting quite emotional at the sight of her older brother breaking down his walls to her. "No, you aren't letting me speak; me, Frankie and Luca tried stopping dad and Charlotte from sending you away, but they wouldn't listen to us.
Hell, we tried everything but nothing would get through to them and for that I am so fucking sorry, I just wish things could have turned out differently than they have done."

The young teenager stopped in her tracks in shock after hearing her older brother's confession. Turning on her heels, she looked back over at her brother's guilt-ridden expression.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" She stuttered, for the first time in years she was rendered speechless: she was on the understanding that they all had some form of input in her being sent to live with her grandparents.
Marcello took a couple of slow, cautious steps towards his little sister, he didn't know if she was exposed to any kind of trauma and if that was the case, he would do anything to make sure she wouldn't ever have to relive it. "Before you where sent away to Brazil, there was so many talks about if that was the appropriate plan of action, or if keeping you at home was the safest as you would have been right under our noses."
Rio motioned with her hand for him to keep talking, she had never been told this version of the story before and if it did come out to be true, then she has been building up unnecessary anger towards her brother's, being under the false pretext that they contributed to her being sent away.
There was the thought that Marcy could be lying, then again what has he got to lose when he lost his sister ages ago?
"Me, Frankie and Luca tried everything in our power to sway dad and Charlotte into keeping you at home with us, but there is only so much we could have done especially when I only just turned eighteen at the time." He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air exasperated and in hopes she would believe him.
Her body flooded with anger, she couldn't help but be furious with Franco and Charlotte. She walked away from Marcy and stormed towards her father, not before clenching her fists and soon as Franco, Nona, Popo and her other two brothers heard her thunderous footsteps they all turned in her point of direction.
Not anticipating what she was about to do next, Rio brought her fist back and swung a right hook straight into Franco's face, letting her anger get the best of her.
Fuck being an Angel, she was the devil today.

Flesh Forger
Born a bit too late to explore the world, yet far too early to explore space, Graham Lattem is your average 61 year old man - if a little wanderlust filled. That being said, he has a happy home, loving wife, children who check up on him, and a decent retirement fund to live out his golden years modestly. Then it happens. [System Initialization Commencing…] A trick of the light, surely. [Planetary Merger Protocol 331 Enabled] Rumbling can be heard in the distance. Shouts. Cries of anguish. A horrible, ear numbing crashing sound. An earthquake. A hole opens in the middle of his home, and our protagonist falls in as a swirling vortex consumes him. Mountains as far as the eye can see greet Graham as he opens his eyes. Well, and more glowing words: [Welcome To The Macrocosm] [Good Luck] Far away from his family in a world hell-bent on his demise, how will this old, arthritis ridden man survive? Did I mention he has cancer? ===================================================================== Aiming for at least 1 chapter every other day, though there is a very big chance it will more oftentimes than not be more than that! This is my first ever story. One that I’ve been wanting to write for awhile. The system is most definitely inspired by Randidly Ghosthound and The New World, but I promise the story is different! Please point out any mistakes, as I’d love to improve! Also the warnings are just to let me experiment.

Magician's Pact
A young boy with a special key finds himself caught up with an old wizard, an ancient prohpecy, and a possibly conspercy. This sounds like the sort of thing most childern would love to be a part of, but there are just three small problems. The first is that he is not the hero. Someone already got that role. The second is that he isn't a wizard. He is a Magician which complicates things. The third is that there might be a chance that the whole 'problem' might be comming from his end. Personally he never understood (or interacted with) the 'secret' magical world, but that becomes a problem when the magical world apparently has what his role is supposed to be according to their ancient book... and they are not to happy about him not matching their book. Still it shouldn't be to hard right? All he has to do is go to a school, learn some wizard magic, make sure nobody takes his key... also avoid dying. Thankfully he has had a lot of expereince with that last part and a bunch of Twig Twirling childern can't be too dangerious? Right?

The Orb Weaver Chronicles
"The Orb Weaver Chronicles contains several major and unique events that may or may not unknowingly intertwines with one another. The author of these chronicles is unknown, although some have hinted at the symbolism behind its name..." - Year unknown, location unknown 9 February 2022 Update: Welcome to the companion short story compilation of my novel trilogy The Shadow Paradigm. This compilation features prequels, sidequels and sequels to the novel's major plotline, as well as featuring a wide range of characters, new and recurring. Prior knowledge of the novel is not necessary as the Orb Weaver Chronicles' short stories are standalone. Once called The Arkesyyan Chronicles, I've deleted quite a few of its old stories. Due to the new avenue and revision, oriented toward more mystery and film-noir ambience, that I took my stories into, I've removed all aliens and overly sci-fi aspects of the whole TSP lineup, so I've updated the Orb Weaver Chronicles accordingly. I hope you enjoy them, and in time, a revised version will also be updated.
