Ethan's POV
"What's wrong?" I asked as I saw the panicked expression creep into her face as she put her phone away.
"My son is in the hospital." She whispered in shock.
Wait. What? She has a son? Dammit. She probably has a husband too. But then again I don't see a ring and her title was Ms. in the file. So maybe it's just a boyfriend. And those can always be tossed to the side and dumped. What am I even saying?
"I'm sorry Mr. Winthrope but I have to go. I need to go to my son." She rushed picking up the few things she had.
"Please call me Ethan. And I'll drive you." I replied standing up and grabbing my keys from my desk.
"Mr. Win- I mean Ethan there is no need. I can drive myself." She stated firmly as she started for the door.
"On the contrary Silver," I tested her name on my tongue. "You are in no state to drive. We will take my car."
With that I grabbed her hand and directed her to the elevator right outside my office door. It was a private one so nobody but I, my Secretary, and now Silver were allowed to use it. Or even know about it. As we get onto it I direct it to my garage. As soon as we arrived I jumped into my car and waited for Silver to follow.
As soon as she was buckled up I took off. "What hospital is he in?"
"St. Bishop's Hospital." She replied looking out the window in worry and fear.
"Ok." I barely say due to the fact I knew she wouldn't hear me and if she did probably wouldn't answer.
As I head towards the hospital I study the side of her face. She looked so familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Pulling up to the hospital parking lot it all came back to me. The one night almost four years ago that I have tried endlessly to forget but have always failed too. It was her. The women from that night. How did I not notice it before? She had the same glorious black hair, and dazzlingly bright blue eyes. She was glorious. Like a true Picasso painting. Nothing could blemish her beauty.

Getting out of the car along with Silver I followed her as she rushed through the doors of the hospital. Running to the receptionist I hear her demand where her son, Aiddan McMalorey, was.
"Are you the parents of Aiddan?" the woman asked as she looked at me, giving me a slow once over before winking at me.
"I am his mother and he is my-" I cut him off before she could say anything that would stop me from being near her. I needed to talk to her about that night. I hope it affected her the way it did me.
"I am the father." I stated and watched with satisfaction as the woman's face fell into disappointment. To make matters better I slowly drew Silver into my side as I grabbed onto her waist in a loving manner. It was supposed to be more of a show but it was also for me. Hey! Got to start somewhere.
"What are you doing?" I heard Silver hiss into my ear as she turned into my embrace making it seem like we were actually together in an intimate way.
"If you want to see your son sooner rather than later just go along with it." I whisper back and watch as she visually relaxes.
Good. Maybe that means she trusts me.
"He is in room number 251. If you take that hall right there, go all the way down to the end, take a right you should see it somewhere on the left." She pointed to a hallway behind her station.
Taking her directions we hurry to his room. As soon as we got there I could feel my heart beating inside my chest. Once inside the room the only person in the room was a man who looked about my age. He has black hair that was tousled this way and that as if he had just gotten out of bed. He had bluish gray eyes that seemed haunted with worry. His body was of an athletic build as if he worked physically all day. In short terms he was attractive for a man.

I watch with jealousy as Silver runs to the man and hugs him as she starts to cry. "Ashton, what happened?"
"I don't know. We were outside playing and out of nowhere a car comes and clips Aiddan in the side. It never made full contact but there was so much blood." The man, whose name must have been Ashton, whispered hoarsely. "He is in surgery with a broken leg and a deep gash in his hip that needs to be stitched."
"Oh my God." Silver starts to cry again. After a few more minutes she slowly stands back up and looks at me. "Thank you for the ride."
I could tell she was going to tell me I could leave so before she could I walk over to Ashton. "Hello, I am Ethan Winthrope. Silver's new boss."
"Ashton." the man stated looking at me suspiciously. "Silver's brother."
Dammit. I knew he was her boyfr- wait. Did he say brother? I cheered out loud if it wasn't for the doctor coming into the room.
"Are you the family of Aiddan McMalorey?"
