《Silver》23

Ethan's POV
As Silver slept in my arms I gazed upon the two people who meant more to me at that moment than anyone has ever meant to me. I was the happiest I had been in a while.
Lost in thought I didn't notice the nurse enter the room until I heard her feet shuffle against the tiles. Jerking in surprise I raise my head to look who was intruding.
"Sorry sir. I just have to do Aiddan's vital check ups." she explained.
The nurse was an elderly lady with graying hair. She was short and from what I could tell she was tired. There were bags under her eyes that signified that she hadn't gotten much sleep lately. But I wasn't a doctor so I'm sure.
"It's alright." I whispered tensing slightly as Silver stirred a bit.
"You have a beautiful family." she spoke softly trying not to wake them up.
"Thank you." I grinned as I looked down at them with love.
I have only known them for about a month yet they were my whole life. I know that since I have only known them for such a short amount of time I shouldn't feel like this but I do. It was like a lightbulb had illuminated my life as Silver showed up for that interview. And then it was like the sun had burned through all the shadows in my life when I found out Aiddan was mine. I know a lot of people wouldn't understand how I felt but that's okay. I also know that most men wouldn't take Silver at her word but even if Aiddan wasn't mine biologically I'd still love him like my own. They were now the center of my world and I won't let anyone come between us.

Not even divine intervention itself. I'll be damned before I give them up.
Grabbing my phone I sent a quick text to Jason asking him to send me some papers. I had a surprise I needed to get in order for Silver and our son. It might take a few months to get in order but it will be worth it. Anything for them is worth every struggle I'll embark upon. But first things are first. The paper work.
And sleep. I thought to myself as I looked at the time. 12:27. Well, I can't get everything in order within one night so I might as well go to bed.
As soon as my head settled against the pillow and my arms pulled them tightly to my chest I fell asleep soundly.

The Legend of Ghost
This is a quick novella origin story to one of fan-favorite characters in the ZERO universe, Sam Dobbs, a.k.a. Slade Gardner, a.k.a. the Ghost. I wrote it for current ZERO series fans, after many insistent, fervent, teary-eyed demands. Still, I think it pretty much works as a stand-alone, so I'll post it here. (He gets the name Ghost later, not as part of this story...this is just the why he decided to do what he did, being slightly insane and all.) Lots of easter eggs for current fans. 15k words total, chapters will be approx. 2.5k each. Oh, and if you get turned off by crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials being crazy, hyperintelligent antisocials, this isn't the story for you. ;)

One wears a cloak and wields a revolver with mystical runes glowing on its barrel. The other is bare chested and holds a great sword as large as his giant figure. The man with the gun points it at the other man. "Cayden, as one of your friends. Please make this easy for me and turn yourself in." The large man's eyes waver for a second before they quickly recompose themselves. "Come on then. Try to take me," The large man rushes towards the man in the cloak swinging his great sword down as he approaches. The man in the cloak sighs, aims his gun, and fires.
