《Silver》37

Rhys POV
Walking away from the small compound Silver is in I quickly make my way towards the store that is about a mile or so from where I live. A long walk, yes. But I was heading there anyway because I needed to get my sister, Jasmine a birthday present. She turns ten tomorrow and it will be the last time I get to see her for a while.
Boss thought it would be funny if he let me have my last moments with Jasmine while I was working for him. So while I guard Silver, making sure nobody goes in or out of her room, my sister is going to be in my rundown apartment by herself. I'm not going to spend much time with her before the Boss takes her with him on a business trip somewhere.
While I was thinking about my sister I had entered the store and made a beeline for the books. Jasmine loves reading. Doesn't matter what the genre is. If it has words and was published as a book, she'll read it. Scanning the book selections they have I pick out a book that has a female protagonist who fights her way through the book to save herself and her family.
Grabbing the book I went towards the pharmacy area of the store where all the health supplies were. Walking around for a little bit I finally found the pregnancy tests. Holy Moly! Why are there so many different kinds? Don't they all do the same thing?
I must have looked as lost as I felt. Because an older woman approached on my shoulder to gain my attention from where I was staring at the boxes of tests in confusion.
"Get this one." The woman said, handing me a pregnancy test that I had been looking at. "It's never told me or my daughters wrong."

Quickly thanking the women I rush towards the cashier with my head down. Ignoring the disappointed glances from the cashier I paid for the book and test and made my way back to my house.
"Rhys!" my little Jasmine, exclaimed as she ran up to me when I walked through the door of my house.
"Hey Sis." I smiled down at her tiny form with a loving smile.
"What is in the bag?" she peered at it curiously.
"Your birthday present." I smirked as she squealed in excitement.
"Can I have it?" She asked, looking at me with puppy eyes.
"Sure."
Watching her look at the book I got her was probably the highlight of my year. The excitement and gratitude she showed when she looked at the book I had bought her lightened up my dim life. I was so relieved that she liked the book I had gotten her. It meant a lot. I wasn't around her as often as I used to be so I didn't know exactly what she liked anymore.
Silver's POV
Rhys had come back around dinner time like he normally did. But when he served me today's dinner dish he also slipped me the pregnancy test box. Now I'm in the small bathroom waiting for the results.
Looking at the box I smile slightly. It was the same test that I used to find out about Aiddan.
*FLASHBACK*
"Silver! I got the pregnancy test!" Ashton exclaimed as he ran through the front door breathing heavily.
Smiling, I ask, "What's the rush?"
Ever since I had told Ashton that I hadn't got my period this month he had been bouncing off the walls with excitement. I mean you would think that I'd be the one with raging emotions but instead it's my twin brother.

"I want a niece or nephew!" He yelled, grinning from ear to ear. "Now get into that bathroom and take that test."
"Fine, fine, fine." I sighed but couldn't contain the small smile that appeared on my face at his antics.
After I did my business I sat on the closed toilet lid waiting for the results. Staring at the small white stick as time passes by. Slowly two small, pink lines appeared in the window of the stick.
"I'm-"
*END OF FLASHBACK*
"Pregnant." I breathed out.
