《More Than You Realize》Chapter 8: I Just Want Some Sleep

I felt the bags hang from under my eyes. I wanted sleep, a lot more sleep. However, the Steve's didn't allow this.
Galaxy Steve kept annoying Void Steve to where they always started an argument. Rainbow Steve wouldn't stop asking if I was okay long enough for me to go back to sleep.
Eventually, I gave up on trying to sleep.
I made my way to where the Steve's normally sat. I was stuck in the middle of Galaxy Steve and Void Steve. They weren't yelling, thank goodness, but the glares made me feel awkward.
What were they fighting about now? You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Eh, what the heck. They were fighting over, get this, what to do with my powers.
Galaxy Steve and Void Steve wanted time to work with my powers different ways. Galaxy Steve wanted me to learn on my own, build some "responsibility" or whatever. I liked Void Steve's idea, which was to actually help me.
I didn't want to admit it, for two reasons. One, Galaxy Steve would get mad, and assume I hate him. Two, I didn't feel up to actually working right now. My body was weak, and that nightmare didn't help.
Why did I even see that? It felt like something that would actually happen. It didn't, obviously, but i kinda wish it did. I was getting sick of the two powerhouse Steve's glaring at each other while I sit in the middle.
"Sabre, how do you think we should go about you dealing with your powers? My brilliant way, of Void Steve's idiotic way?" Galaxy Steve asked. He crossed his arms and looked directly at me.
Void Steve said with a slight growl.
I looked back and forth between Galaxy and Void Steve. Each stared at me, causing me to feel very uncomfortable.
"Well, I know exactly how to go about my powers," I said. I stood up and closed my eyes. It burned a little, yet it felt good.
"Yes?!" Galaxy Steve asked excitingly.
Void Steve followed. I sighed, then turned and smiled at them after I opened my eyes.
"Later..." I said, my smile dying. Both flinched.
"Hh" they both asked.
"I don't want to work right now. I don't care that I was put for two weeks, I had a nightmare. I have bags under my eyes, and none of you are helping. You two," I pointed to Galaxy and Void Steve, "won't stop fighting, AT ALL! Rainbow Steve, I'm sorry, and thank you, but you keep asking if I'm fine every 5 minutes. It gets annoying."
They stayed quiet, so I just went to my room. I closed the door.
Pure and utter silence. It was so beautiful. I sighed happily. I took my old, green jacket off, and laid it over to the side. I was still confused as to why I was in my old clothes from forever ago, but I didn't question it too much.

I laid down on the red bed, letting the soft wool cuddle my body.
I groaned when I heard a crash come from where all of the Steve's were. 'They can't be in another argument already, can they?' I thought.
I ignored the noise, and closed my eyes. I heard footsteps outside my door. They were slow, heavy. They didn't sound like one of the Steve's.
The door slammed open, and a dark, familiar chuckle followed. I heard the person walk closer to my bed. I was getting a bad vibe; an all to familiar vibe. 'Why does he always show up?'
"Oh, Sabre. You shouldn't sleep with me running around freely, looking for you. It's very dangerous. Haaaaa... you can't hear me. I'll explain everything when you wake up," Slade said gently. I felt his hand grab my arm. Heck no, I was not letting him take me.
My eyes shot open, and I jumped away from him. I landed, perfectly, on my feet; on the other side of the bed. He looked shock. I smirked.
"I can fake my sleep well. I've had many years of practice," I said. 'I guess I'll have to go with Galaxy Steve's idea right now.'
"Sabre... awake I see? Doesn't matter. I'll take you awake as well," Slade said, a smirk forming with every word he said.
"What did you do to Rainbow, Galaxy, and Void Steve?" I asked ignoring his remark. He scoffed, and rolled his eyes.
"Now, is that really important right now?" he questioned. He shrugged his shoulders some as well, showing the little sarcasm he had.
"Yes, yes it is. Those Steve's are my friends, and you won't hurt them!" I growled.
"Friends? FRIENDS? HA! THAT'S FUNNY! If I remember correctly, it took a while before you and Rainbow Steve worked together at all; the same with Galaxy Steve. Void Steve? He was my partner; a helped to the destruction of your family. Heck, he's tried to get rid of you multiple times, and he's your friend?" Slade scoffed. He rushed at me, and pinned me against the wooden wall. I struggled in his grip.
"YEAH! HE'S MY FRIEND! Void Steve has shown me he can change. He helped me understand my powers before you decided to give me all the knowledge for you stupid plan. Void Steve has changed himself... all to stop you," I said. My struggling calmed down; just so I could glare at Slade.
"And what would you do if I did hurt them?" he asked, his evil smirk still plastered on his face.
"If you hurt them... you won't see tomorrow!" I yelled in his face. He laughed.
"You might wanna calm down, Sabre. You don't want to lose control of your powers, now do you?" Slade questioned sarcastically. I smirked myself, making him raise a confused eyebrow.

"Who said I would lose control? While I was out for a while, which I know you knew, I had a little talk with my mom. She made some great points. The only way to beat you, is to not dwell on the past," I said confidently. "And that is also the key to controlling my powers!"
I focused on Slade getting knocked away from me, and that's what happened. A gust blew him to the other side of the room. He crashed into the wall.
He, quickly, got up and growled at me. I smirked.
"Heh, you'll PAY for that, Sabre," Slade said. He summoned a diamond sword, and charged at me. 'Two can play at that game, Slade.'
I whipped my hand out to the side; summoning a water like sword. I blocked his weapon with my own. I didn't really think it would do much. It was just water, after all. Much to my surprise, it blocked his ease.
This water sword was easy to swing, and a pretty powerful sword. It was very sturdy, and held up well.
Our swords collided over and over again. It was mainly me blocking his blows. He was getting frustrated.
"Arg! Just let me hit you, Sabre! You can't stay like this forever!" Slade exclaimed, striking once again.
"But the pain is more fun together!" I laughed jokingly.
"You can be annoying, Sabre... or should I say-" Slade began, but I wouldn't let him finish.
"DON'T YOU DARE!" I yelled in anger. He laughed.
"Awe... someone doesn't like their real name," Slade said annoyingly. I growled. This time, I charged at Slade.
My water sword changed to a fire sword. Slade was shocked, but was still able to block my attack.
I bombarded him with blows, trying my best to defeat him. However, he kept blocking. I growled, starting to get annoyed with his determination.
"It seems as if the tables have turned?" Slade asked with a little question in his voice. He smirked, already knowing the answer.
"Shut it, Slade! You have no right to be talking," I said swinging my sword. "No right to be here!" I swung once again. "And you have no right to be here, hurting those I care about, AND NO RIGHT TO DENY ME!"
A burst of energy courses through my body before exerting outwards. Slade was forced into the wall, and was unable to move from that spot.
I felt my hair begin to fly all over the place. My powers circled around my body. I felt so powerful, so strong... but it all felt so wrong, yet so right. I was confused, but I didn't stop what I was doing... I couldn't.
"You won't live to see the light of day again! You made a mistake, coming here, and thinking you could do whatever you pleased! Go ahead! I yelled. 'What am I saying right now? I have no control!'
Slade actually looked scared. He tried so hard to get away from me, but we wasn't able to move move his confinement against the wall.
"O-okay. I-I'll leave! Pl-please... let me go!" Slade exclaimed in a panic. I smirked. I wasn't going to let him go. 'I need help!'
'Sabre?! Sabre, are you okay?!'
'You're lucky, Sabre. I just woke up, and Galaxy Steve and Void Steve are waking up now.'
'Okay, okay. Jeez...'
I said. I brought my right hand out some, and pointing it towards Slade.
Bits of all of my powers were summoned into an attack. I felt my lips curve into a smirk. I knew I was about to unleash the attack, but I was stopped, thankfully. 'My mom would kill me if I went against what she just told me.'
Void Steve yelled barging into the room. I looked over to him, and he flinched away quickly. he mumbled afterwards.
Galaxy Steve and Rainbow Steve entered the room as well.
"AH!" they both exclaimed. Both jumped behind Void Steve, who had recovered already. 'Do I look different? Apparently it's bad...'
"He's getting away!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed pointing to the disappearing Slade.
I growled as he completely disappeared from sight. I turned and faced the three Steve's. I walked closer to them, my fist clenched tightly.
I yelled. Void Steve stuck his hands out to protect Galaxy and Rainbow Steve.
Void Steve yelled, slowly walking closer to me. I growled, letting him know to back away. He didn't.
He didn't stop, nor did he back away. He kept walking closer and closer to me. I growled again, hoping he would get the message. Once again, he kept nearing me.
Finally, he was right in front of me. He put his hands on my shoulders, and stared into where my eyes would be, if not for the bandana. He smiled.
he said softly. I clicked. Like a sack of potatoes, I fell forward.
Void Steve caught me, and held me up. Galaxy and Rainbow Steve ran over to us, ready to help. I smiled. I was back to who I truly was. Not some monster with an intention of hurting someone. One who sees good in all people, and I needed some major sleep.
"Guys..." I mumbled as they laid me down on my bed.
"What is it, Sabre?" Rainbow Steve asked. I huffed out some air, making it into a laugh.
"I need some sleep," I said. With that note, I fell right into a deep sleep.
