《More Than You Realize》Chapter 12: Meetings Are Not Always Planned

"Where would they have taken Sabre?" Galaxy Steve exclaimed in his panic. I shrugged my shoulders, too stressed to do anything more than that.
Void Steve suggested. Galaxy Steve jerked to attention with a huge smile on his face.
"OF COURSE! THAT'S WHERE HE WAS LAST TIME!" Galaxy Steve exclaimed happily. I couldn't help myself but laugh a little.
Void Steve said getting ready to teleport. We jumped beside of him, not wanting to get left behind.
I felt some happiness consume my chest. I was so sure he was there, and that, soon, he will be back with us. Safe and-
My eyes widened. The sight was horrible. We had teleported to where Slade's place is-uh-was. Fire consumed the remains of the building; the rest already burned to ashes. It had been burning for a long time.
"Wh-what happened?" I stuttered. Galaxy Steve collapsed to his knees, pained by the sight. 'Please don't tell me Sabre was in that? No, he couldn't have. This has been burning for a while, but he was just kidnapped. There's no way he could've been in here.'
Void Steve said somewhat relieved. 'Mind reader.'
"So... where else could he be?" Galaxy Steve asked looking back to Void Steve.
Void Steve said sadly.
"SABRE!" I, suddenly, yelled into the smoke-filled air. My voice carried throughout the whole domain.
Galaxy and Void Steve stared at me as I kept yelling in anger. I stared to the ground, regaining the breath I had lost while yelling.
"We can't stand here and wait. Let's go... we'll have to find Sabre the hard way," I said looking back to them. Neither of them moved, or even said a thing. I don't think they knew what to say.
Void Steve said reassuringly. I smiled. Galaxy Steve looked between the both of us, then smiled happily.
"YEAH!" Galaxy Steve exclaimed pumping his fist in the air. Void Steve motioned for us to come closer, and we did. He teleported is out of what used to be Slade's place.
My brother is a pure idiot. Sure, he's extremely powerful, and he's the ruler of our land, but I think it was a wrong choice. Now, he thinks he's too high end to do simple work, AND IT MAKES ME MAD!
"Alex! Help me out here!" I cried out angrily. He sighed, and stood up from his position under a tree. He, slowly, walked over to me, staff tight in hand.
"What?" he grumbled.
"Here," I said handing him a stone pickaxe. "Go mine some iron and coal."
"Nah, I'll just use my staff," he said. He began to cast a spell to bring the items to him. I grabbed the staff before he could, though.
"No! You have to be an average person, Alex. You said it yourself, we don't need to draw to much attention to ourselves," I said with a slight smirk. He stared at me in shock. I stuck my tongue out at him, then went back to chopping down some wood.
"YOU'RE THE WORST, MARY!" Alex exclaimed before he ran off into a cave. I couldn't help but laugh. I loved messing with my brother.

"This should be enough to, at least, get started," I said to myself. I placed an oak log down, facing upwards. I looked around at the open area, deciding where to put the other three for a layout. I decided to make it 10 x 15 blocks. It was only for two, and we could build up if we needed more space.
I walked along 10 blocks, then placed another log facing upwards. I began walking the 15 blocks to place the next log, but I was, rudely, interrupted. Alex flew in front of me, cutting off my pathway, and my thinking. I lost track on what number I was on, and I have OCD. It has to be perfect.
"This better be important. I was in the middle of placing this log for the layout of our house. You made me loss count," I growled. He stared with no emotion.
"Eh, I found some materials. Definitely enough for better weapons and stuff like that," he said with a slight smirk, and he shrugged his shoulders.
"Alex... I thought I warned you about my OCD. Wanna take a stab at an angry hybrid when you mess with me?" I said angrily. I felt my anger flow around my body, clearly visible to those surrounding, which was Alex. He just shrugged his shoulders.
"Incase you haven't realized, I'm stronger than you. You can't take me down-" I cut him off by tackling my brother to the ground. "HEY! GET OFF ME!"
"I thought you were stronger than me?" I said slyly. He struggling to throw me off, and he never truly did.
"Mary! You're hurting me! You know all of my power is in my staff, THAT YOU HAVE!" he yelled. I shrugged my shoulders slightly.
"That sounds like a you problem," I said with a smirk.
a demonic voice said.
"AH!" I yelled as I jumped off Alex. I turned to where the voice came from as Alex jumped to his feet. I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at who was standing there.
There was a guy that was rainbow-colored, another that was galaxy-colored, and another that was just cloaked in a dark hoodie. All you could see was his red eyes. I think he's the one who spoke.
"W-who are you three?" I asked getting into a fighting position.
"Oh! Hi! I'm Rainbow Steve!" the rainbow-colored guys said happily. 'That makes sense.'
"Hah! That's funny! Let me guess, Galaxy Steve," I said sarcastically pointing to the galaxy-colored guy. "And... I don't know, Hoodie Steve? Hah!"
"Uh... actually, I am Galaxy Steve," the galaxy-colored guy said shockingly. 'Really? I was just kidding...'
the hoodie guy yelled.
"So, Rainbow Steve, Galaxy Steve, and Void Steve," Alex said pointing to each one respectively. They all nodded in agreement. "You sure you're not brothers or something?"
"Pretty sure. Considering we've almost killed each other, intentionally, I would hope we're not family, or whatever," Rainbow Steve said looking between the other two Steve's worryingly.
"Okay, we've introduced ourselves, so now you introduce yourselves," Galaxy Steve said pointing to us. "And... maybe explain the wings and tails?"

"Well, hi! I'm Mary, and this is my brother, Alex. We're hybrids," I said somewhat calmly, probably more than I should've.
"Wow, Mary. Just come straight out and tell strangers that. You'll have to excuse my sister; she tends to be... out there," Alex said while crossing his arms annoyingly. I felt my eyebrow twitch.
"Really? I'm out there? You're the one who wouldn't even go mine like a normal person! You wanted to just use your powers!" I exclaimed angrily. He glared at me.
"MARY! YOU CAN'T JUST GO AROUND YELLING THAT KIND OF STUFF!" Alex yelled. I placed my hands on my hips, annoyed with his stuck up attitude.
"ME?! YOU STARTED THIS! DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" I yelled back.
Void Steve yelled. All of us looked him. He looked like he was about to kill at any moment.
He calmed down, but was still pretty annoyed with our bickering.
"Sorry, guys. We fight a lot. It's just a thing with siblings," Alex said while bowing some. I sighed and did the same.
"Yes, I'm sorry as well. We've been up tight, especially, since we've gotten here. We don't really know what happened. One minute, we were sitting in Alex's room looking over our kingdom, then we just start falling. Then we're here," I said apologetically.
"We're pretty stressed ourselves. Our friend was just kidnapped by some guys who have plans to destroy the world. I, kind of, get where you're getting at," Galaxy Steve said while looking at the ground.
"OH MY GOSH! I'M SO SORRY! Here, let me give you a hug!" I exclaimed while, quickly, hugging Galaxy Steve and Rainbow Steve. I wasn't able to get Void Steve, because I'm pretty small. "Come on, Void Steve. Give me a hug!"
he yelled backing away from me. I smirked.
I flew over to him, and engulfed him in a hug before he could do anything else. I heard the other Steve's and Alex snicker behind us. Void Steve growled at me, then, suddenly, just flew away. 'WHAT?'
Void Steve said smirking down to me. I stared in shock, then laughed.
I turned back to the other Steve's, seeing Galaxy Steve floating in the air. I looked at Rainbow Steve, expecting the same. He frowned, and looked down the ground sadly.
"I lost my powers a long time ago. I lost them to another Steve. He was defeated, but I wasn't able to regain my powers," he said. I frowned some, seeing Galaxy Steve land on the ground to comfort his friend. Void Steve flew over to him, not giving him the same gesture, but looking at him sadly.
"Awe, Rainbow Steve. I'm really sorry," I said flying back over to him. He began laughing, much to everyone's shock.
"Ya know, it's kind of funny. You were just yelling at us and your brother like a minute ago. Now, you're hugging us, and feeling bad for me. It's pretty funny, in my opinion," he laughed. I stared for a moment, then began to smile, then laugh.
"She always has been the more emotional one," Alex said plainly. I glared at him, my laughter coming to a halt.
"Yeah, at least I express emotion. You keep the same face 24/7. I'm pretty sure the people of our kingdom-" he interrupted me.
"My kingdom. You don't rule with me," Alex said.
"Fine! Your kingdom-thinks that you are emotionless. You act like you don't even care!" I yelled at him.
"I really don't," he said. "I mean, if something were to happen, yes I would be very upset and probably mad. But for the most part, I don't really care. Everything will be okay; I live by that."
"Woah... that's pretty deep," Rainbow Steve said in shock. I was shocked myself.
"Dang... YOU REALLY DO HAVE A SENSITIVE SIDE!" I exclaimed happily. He covered his ears.
"I just remembered, Mary. Where is my staff? I would like to have it back, now," he growled. I sighed. 'That's my brother.'
"Ugh... I knew this side of you wouldn't stay... here," I said handing him his staff in defeat. I noticed that the Steve's looked at it weirdly.
"Oh! This is my staff. You see, I'm a king where I'm from. I was given this, a staff that contains a bit of magic," Alex said showing the Steve's his magical staff.
"Show off..." I mumbled quietly. Alex glared at me, but I just shrugged my shoulders.
"How about this? You guys are powerful as well, right?" Alex said, waving his staff in their faces with a smirk. The Steve's nodded, well, Rainbow Steve didn't nod. "Well, you help us survive, and maybe show us what you can do, and we'll help you find your friend."
"Really?!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed quickly. Alex nodded, and looked to me.
"What? I was going to do that either way. I'm all up for helping them, whether we get anything from it or not," I say with a smile. I felt someone hug me. I looked to see Rainbow Steve hugging my side. I returned the hug.
"Fine... be nice person like that. It will bite you in the butt when it's more important," Alex said turning away. I glared holes in him. I pushed Rainbow Steve off of my, gently. I flew in front of Alex, and gave him one of my death glares. He flinched a little.
"Wanna take that back? I'm sure this is pretty important. Alex... this isn't home. Be nicer; you have no control over these people," I said turning back to the Steve's. I smiled at them, and they smiled back, even Void Steve.
"Dang... you get mad way too easily. Take a chill pill," Alex said, his body slumped a little.
"Whatever," I sighed. I turned, fully, to the Steve's. "So, what's your friend's name?"
"Sabre. Sabre Favre."
