《More Than You Realize》Chapter 13: Fighting Evil Daily

"WHY ARE YOU SO PERSISTENT!" Ty yelled at me once again. I was struggling really hard to keep control of my own mind and body. I was causing myself pain to snap my self back into reality.
"I-I will n-never give i-in to-to you g-g-guys," I barely got out. I felt myself losing control of myself once again.
"*sigh* Just give in, Sabre. You won't escape the clutches of this evil. It was already inside of you, and we just merely woke it up," Slade said walking closer to my fighting figure. I shook so much just trying to look up to him. "You can't escape your destiny, Sabre. This is what you were meant to be."
"S-Shut u-up, S-Slade," I stuttered. "Arg..."
My head was pounding; the evil trying so desperately to control me. I can't let that happen. I won't let that happen. No... I can't do this. I'm just not strong enough...
I let the darkness consume me. The last thing I saw was Slade and Ty's smirks once they saw me lose control. I closed my eyes, and they didn't open for a while.
'Where am I? Oh... another memory of some sort? Why do I always seem to come back to this?'
I didn't even know where I was. Everything seemed... what's the word? It didn't have as much color as it should've. Definitely something from the past.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look what I can do!" a familiar voice exclaimed. His voice was high, or MY voice was high. I turned to see where my voice come from.
How young was I? Four? I didn't have the bandana. Plus, my mom is still alive, so it was before I was five.
My mom smiled at me, but I could tell it was not a pure, genuine smile. I could see why. I was hovering, not too far above the ground. My hair was flying everywhere, and loose parts of clothing was flying around as well.
"Sabre... that's awesome. How did you learn to do that?" he asked sadly. Being four, I probably didn't know the tone. 'But... I don't remember this. Wait, this was before Slade attacked. Everything before that blast was altered.'
"Big Brother, Jake!" I exclaimed while floating around. 'Big Brother? I have a brother...'
A boy with purple hair that faded into a darker purple with two pink highlights appeared from around a corner. His eyes were a light blue that sparkled in the light. He wore a turquoise shirt with two bands around his wrists. He, also, had brown pants with black shoes.
"It was me!" Jake, I assumed, exclaimed proudly. He looks nothing like me, so how is he my brother?
"Jake... I told you not to do that. Sabre needs to figure his powers out on his own," my-our-mom said looking at Jake. Jake frowned, then crossed his arms.
"Okay... I just thought it would be nice to help him out some," Jake said. He walked up next to younger me, and motioned for me to stop floating. The younger me did so.
"I know, Jake, but Sabre needs to figure them out for himself. You won't be there to guide him throughout his whole life," our mom said patting Jake's head.

'Jake... Jake Favre, I assume. If he's my brother, he has to have the same last name, right?' I thought looking at the small family. 'Wait... have I never had a dad before?'
"Mommy... when will Daddy be coming home?" younger me asked sadly. 'Coincidence? I think so.'
Our mother's face fell. A small tear rolled down her left cheek. Jake and younger me stared and waited for an answer.
"He... um... won't be back for a while, kids. Uh-how about you two run off and play. Dinner will be ready here soon," Mom said shooing us away. We both smiled and ran off into some room.
Suddenly, the world around me turned white.
"No, no, no! That's all wrong," Galaxy Steve exclaimed angrily. Mary let out a deep sigh of annoyance.
"Galaxy Steve! We are not the same. We fly differently, and we do almost everything differently. I appreciate your help so I can be as helpful, but I'm not that special. I don't have powers, and I never will," Mary said floating back down to the ground.
She landed, but sat down. She brought her knees up to her chest. Great, she'll be like this for another hour.
Galaxy Steve flew over to the rest of us, who were just talking about Sabre and why he was kidnapped. Makes sense as to why.
"I can't do anything. She doesn't get what I'm trying to say," Galaxy Steve said as he sat down with the rest of us. I laughed just a little bit.
"She's always like that. However, she does have a point. We have wings, and you don't. We can't fly as freely as you can, and there's a certain way to fly. At the same time, she can do a lot more. I think it boils down to, she's too scared to mess up. Not afraid to fail, but she doesn't want to get hurt. She's sensitive," I said. I grabbed the very end section of my staff, then tap the bottom on the ground.
The small area around us changed. It showed Mary and me when we were younger. She was trying to do some tricks, and was doing pretty good.
"I don't get it?" Rainbow Steve said questionably.
"Just wait," I said.
"Come on, Mary! You can do it!" younger me exclaimed as I watched Mary get ready to do her big finish.
"I know I can! Watch me, brother!" little Mary exclaimed. She got herself ready to do a front flip in the air, and land, safely, on the padding below.
She jumped. She completed her front flip, but jumped a little too far out. She screamed as she collided with the ground. Younger me ran over to help her, but I was in panic. I didn't really know what to do.
Just before anything could happen, the flashback disappeared. We were back in the normal world, all sitting around each other. All of the Steve's looked at me, then Mary sadly.
Void Steve said somewhat sadly. I don't think he's much of the type for feelings... well, good feelings anyway.
"Well, I won't allow this!" Galaxy Steve proclaimed whole standing up to his feet. We all stared at him, not knowing what to do or say. "I'll fix that!"

"And how do you plan to fix it, genius?" Rainbow Steve asked, questioning his ability to do that.
"Easy... we just break it. Show her that there is no problem with messing up, and with her ability to fly, the likelihood of her failing like that is slim to none. As long as she doesn't panic and forget she has her wings, she can fly or catch herself before something happens," Galaxy Steve said proudly.
Void Steve mumbled. Galaxy Steve glared at him.
"It will work; just you watch!" Galaxy Steve exclaimed. He began making his way over to Mary. 'I'm dead.'
We couldn't hear what Galaxy Steve was saying; we just knew he was talking to her. Mary stared it him, nodding with what he said. Suddenly, she flinched.
Her head snapped my direction with a glare. 'Yep, I'm dead.'
I, quickly, stood up, actually scared of what was next. Rainbow Steve and Void Steve stared at me confusingly. I jumped into the air, and began to fly away from Mary.
I knew she was following me. I heard the other Steve's laughing from down below. I decided to be brave, and look behind me to see if Mary was right behind me. That was a mistake.
I turned my head, and she was legit right there. Turning back made me slow down a little, so she was able to catch up to me. She got on my back, forcing me to the ground.
"WHY DID YOU SHOW THEM THAT!" Mary yelled as we began going down.
"Mary! Get off of me! We're going to crash into the ground!" I yelled at her. I don't think she heard me.
"YOU DON'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED!" she yelled.
"MARY! WE ARE ABOUT TO CRASH!" I yelled hoping to gain her attention. Luckily, I did.
She looked up, or down. She flinched a little.
"Mary, either get off of me or fly! You have wings! You can fly!" I yelled trying to help her as much as I could.
I looked back to the ground, and I saw how close we were to hitting it. I gave up hope, so I braced myself for impact. I closed my eyes shut. However, the pain never did come. I opened my eyes. We weren't falling anymore. In fact, we were going higher.
I looked up to Mary, who was trying her hardest to keep me up. I smiled.
"Drop me," I said with a smile. She looked in shock. "Trust me."
She looked a little confused, but didn't argue with me. She let go of me, and I immediately flapped my wings. I flew myself, so I didn't hit the ground.
Both of us, slowly, landed on the ground. I ran up to Mary and hugged her. She didn't respond to the hug, but I knew she was in shock over what just happened.
"You know what you just did, right?" I asked pulling away from her. She shook her head. I laughed. "Mary, you just pushed yourself to save the both of us. Where did all of the fear of trying new stuff like that go?"
"I... I didn't even know I did that," Mary said slowly.
"Mary... you can do it. Galaxy Steve made a good point. You have wings now. Things are different than they were back then. Your wings can help you in a situation just like that," I said. The Steve's came up next to us.
"Are you two alright?" Rainbow Steve asked in a panicked voice. I turned and smiled at him.
"Yes, Rainbow Steve. We are fine; thanks to Mary," I said looking back to Mary. She was staring at her wings as she flapped them around.
"Alex... I don't feel afraid anymore," Mary said with a smile. I smiled back, then looked over to Galaxy Steve.
"She's all your's to teach, Galaxy Steve," I said as I walked away.
Heheh, I delayed Ty's and Slade's plans. I was able to break free from... whatever they used to control me. I smiled contently as Ty paced around. He didn't have anymore of that gas he used earlier. He glared at me when he saw I saw smiling.
"You think this is funny, Sabre? I've got some news for ya. Your friends aren't coming. In fact, they've already replaced you with two people," Ty said with a smirk. I flinched a little. 'He's lying, Sabre. Don't listen to a word he says.'
"So what if they did? They won't give up on looking for me," I said. He began to laugh, and it only got louder and louder.
"Really? You believe that? Let's see what they're doing right now, shall we?" he questioned with that evil smirk still plastered on his face.
Suddenly, a huge screen turned on. It was an arial view of an open field... along with some people. I didn't recognize two of them; a boy with purple hair and a girl with yellow and green hair. However, I knew the other three.
Void Steve, Rainbow Steve, and Galaxy Steve were laughing and sitting around with the other two. Galaxy Steve looked like he was teaching the girl how to do some things with her wings; man, that's weird. I just realized the two had wings and tails.
"Don't you see, Sabre? They are making no attempt to find you. They're too busy playing with their new friends. You are of no importance to them anymore. Just give it up, Sabre. You are stuck here, with us, forever!" Ty said. He flew up to my little confinement.
"You don't know my friends, Tyler. They will come for me, no matter how long it takes, I will wait. I won't let you control me; I won't let you continue your evil plans," I said banging my fist against the glass. He just shook his head, but his smirk was still on his face.
"Your mistake, Sabre Favre," Ty said. He flew back down to the ground, and walked out of the room. No one was in the room, so silence was my only company.
"Please hurry, Steve's," I whispered silently, a stray tear running down my face.
