《More Than You Realize》Chapter 14: Slow Progress, But Progress

All three of us were very appreciative of Alex and Mary helping us. It's really hard to believe they're brother and sister. Nothing about them is the same.
However, things were progressing pretty slowly. I could just imagine the torture Sabre was going through right now. I stared up into the sky that was beginning to turn a mixture of orange, red, and yellow. The sun was setting on the first day without Sabre.
Alex and Mary were already asleep. They must not stay up that late. Galaxy Steve was trying to find a pufferfish. Void Steve was trying to annoy him; mess him up. It was pretty funny, to be honest.
"Rainbow Steve? Are you okay, dude?" Galaxy Steve asked. I sighed a little, bit really knowing how to respond. With the truth, of how I wanted to be?
"I-I'm fine," I lied somewhat slowly. He knew I was lying, and I can't deny the fact that I was.
"Rainbow Steve," he said sternly. He wanted the truth. I sighed and gave it to him.
"Fine... I'm just upset over the fact Sabre isn't here, and that things are progressing so slowly. It's just not how I wanted things to happen," I said before laying on my back. Void Steve flew over to us, and hovered in the air.
Void Steve said. I nodded.
I shot up, leaving Galaxy and Void Steve confused. I looked around. Where did that come from?
'Sabre? Oh, right! You're telepathy!'
'Dude, it's great to hear you as well. Would be better if you were actually here, though.'
'Who's Ty?'
'Oh. The guy in all black and black wings? Ty is his name?'
'We don't know where you are!'
'Let's do it. Allow me to wake Alex and Mary up. Oh! We met-'
'WHAT! YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT TRUE!'
'Oh... that makes sense.'
"Void Steve. Wake up Alex. I'll get Mary. We're going to find Sabre," I said with a smile. He hesitated, then questioned me.
Void Steve asked.
"I'm not entirely sure. He contacted me. He doesn't know where he is, but he said he can transfer some of his power so we can locate him," I said walking over to Mary. He shrugged his shoulders.
"What are we doing?" Galaxy Steve asked. He had some pufferfish in his hand, maybe now he'll shut up about them.
"Going to find Sabre," I said bending down to Mary. I shook her, gently. She groaned.
"What~" she slurred out.
"Come on. We're going to go find Sabre," I said. She shot up, and looked at me in shock.

Alex was awake, but not as excited as Mary was. She was up flying around, excited to meet Sabre, and to save him. Alex was still yawning, but was ready to go.
'Okay. We're all here. Do whatever you need to do.'
'Okay.'
'Okay. See you soon, Sabre.'
I felt the connection disappear, but I felt something enter my body. It was kind of painful.
I collapsed to the ground, trying to adapt to the pain. I felt multiple hands on my shoulders.
It took a while, but the pain began to disappear. I grabbed my head, where most of the pain was coming from. Slowly, and with the help of the rest, I stood up.
"Rainbow Steve? Are you good?" Mary asked. I nodded. Suddenly, I saw something surrounding Mary. I squinted my eyes.
"What's wrong?" Galaxy Steve asked. I looked to him, and something was surrounding him as well. It was a different color than Mary's though. 'Are these auras? Does Sabre see this all the time?'
"Wow... I can see your guys' auras. This is actually really cool," I said. "Heck, I can even fill the auras of things far away. SABRE! I CAN FEEL SABRE'S AURA!"
"REALLY!" Galaxy Steve yelled. I nodded happily.
Void Steve said putting his hands over his ears.
"Right! Follow me!" I exclaimed as I began making my way towards Sabre's aura. Hold on, Sabre. We're on our way.
"You really thought you could fool me? I know what you're doing, Sabre. Giving part of your powers away so your pathetic friends could find you," Tyler said. He flew up and hovered in front of my cage.
"It's working, is it not? They're on their way to find me as we speak. Face it, Ty. Your plan will fail. Just give up," I said trying to stall as long as I could. I probably would've been able to tell how far they were, but I have that power to Rainbow Steve.
"That's funny, Sabre. You know, you think you're a genius. You came up with a plan to let your friends find you. That's truth is, you just doomed yourself. You are weakened because you are feeding power to Rainbow Steve," Ty said as he trailed along the glass. I smirked.
"You don't think I already know that? Yes, I'm weakened. By no means, does that mean I can't take you down," I said looking at him from the corner of my eye. I wasn't able to move. He had locked me into the current position I'm in, so he could "torture" me better.
Slade walked into the room. He stared up to us, watching as Ty circled my confinement. Ty didn't noticed that he had walked into the room.

"You won't escape my grasp so easily. Even if your friends get here in time, they would have to fight through the guards, Slade, heck probably even you," Ty said. I growled at him.
"Yeah right. Like you could ever get me to turn in my friends. You don't have anymore of that stuff you used earlier, and I know you can't get anymore for a while," I said with a slight smirk. Ty glared at me, proving to me that I was right.
"Hmm... sadly, you're right. I don't have the things I need to control you, but I have other ways. They may not work, but it would be an attempt," he said with a smirk. He stared at me for a moment, then he slammed his hand on a button. I, quickly, blacked out.
A loud thump echoed through the empty room as Sabre collapsed. I didn't know what to feel. I should feel joy, happiness, a feel of greatness. Not regret, remorse, sadness.
"He will wake up soon, Slade. Keep a close eye on him. I have some business to take care of," Ty said as he landed not too far from me. I just nodded.
The sound of the metal door slamming shut echoed in the, now, empty room. I was the only conscious one. I let out a sigh.
Just like that, I'm stuck on watching a sleeping kid. This is annoying.
I didn't know what Ty had put in Sabre's cage, and I was somewhat curious as to what was happening. I wanted to snoop around; maybe find something to help me understand more.
"He has to have his plans somewhere. Of course... maybe he doesn't? Maybe they're in his room. Man... why does Ty have to be so complicated," I said to myself.
"Hmmmm......" Sabre groaned from his cage. I flinched a little. 'There's no way he's already awake! He was just-oh. I've been rummaging through Ty's stuff for 2 and 1/2 hours!'
"Man... time flies..." I mumbled. I looked up to where Sabre was.
Slowly, his body rose. He leaned against the glass as he stood up. I really hope I'm not suppose to go and get Ty.
"What?" Sabre whispered. I smirked s little, but it felt so wrong. Whatever. Come on, Slade. Shake it off.
"Hello, Sabre," I said evilly. He looked over to me, and his eyes shot open.
"Slade... what do you want?" he asked angrily. I chuckled a little.
"Not much. Actually, I was stuck on watching you in your slumber. Ty is busy, so he won't be back for a little bit. It's just you and me," I said hoping Ty wouldn't walk in. I wanted to scare him. Sadly, I don't think I did.
"Nice. Evil companion, stuck watching some kid sleep. That's pathetic," he said. I growled.
"You better stay quiet if you know what's good for you. You've got guts, and it'll hurt ya in the near future... well, whatever part you have control of," I said with a smirk.
"I don't care. You can't do anything without Ty's permission. That much I know," he said with his own little smirk. Mine faltered. "Ah! I see I'm right, not that I doubted my knowledge. Yes, Slade. If you don't have permission from Tyler, you won't do it."
"You're smarter than you look. I'll give you that much. However, you can't get out of here with your knowledge, or even your own plans. None will work," I said. He began laughing. Is he mocking me? "What's so funny, Sabre?"
"I don't think you realize... I've already escaped this place," he said.
Suddenly, the door was flung open. I snapped my head to who entered, and my eyes went wide. I, quickly, recovered and growled at the Steve's and the other two kids that entered the room.
Void Steve said smugly. I growled at him. I was too busy with Void Steve to notice the other two kids freeing Sabre. I noticed when Sabre landed not too far from me.
"Nice seeing ya!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed happily before he began to run out. They all followed, except Sabre. He was giving me a weird look. I glared.
"What are you looking at? Actually, get back here!" I yelled before lunging at him. He jumped away, making me collide with the floor.
"Come on, Sabre," Galaxy Steve said motioning to the door. I looked up to him, and he was still giving me that same look! I was about to speak before he spoke. His words sent me into shock.
"Your aura. It's different from before. I mean, it's still evil, but there's other things happening with it. Black for your evil, your wants to hurt me. Blue for the sadness you contain within. Green for the regret you feel about this whole situation. And...... white. I can't make out what it is. It's either the good you secretly have... or the truth you can't remember," he said. His voice had confusion, but my facial features definitely contained shock.

Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.

In The Maw Of The Gods
Synopsis Lilly Harper was always the type to keep to herself. She struggled to make friendships and so, she simply opted not to. That was why moving to the coastal town of Wilham didn’t bother her. She wasn’t leaving anybody behind and she certainly didn’t expect to be making any friends any time soon. However, when she starts hearing about the school’s “Magic Club”—a group of weirdos who claim that magic is real, she can’t deny that she’s slightly intrigued. Then without warning, she suddenly finds herself wrapped up with them. And what if they aren’t crazy? What if magic is actually real? And what if it’s because of that magic that something more powerful than they could ever conceive of is drawn to Wilham? I plan to follow a release schedule of Tuesday/Friday. Average chapter length will be 4,000 to 6,000 words and I will be using multiple POV's quite often. Also to note, while I am flagging the story with content warnings, I am only doing so because there are specific moments where it will be needed. Overall, the story will be relatively tame and I plan to put extra warnings at the beginning of chapters that it applies to. Thank you to everybody who decides to give my story a chance and I hope you enjoy it!
