《More Than You Realize》Chapter 20: Jake Undoing His Wrong

It took quite a while before Void Steve and the new guy to finish talking. Every now and then, we could hear snippets of their conversation. The shocks, the realizations, and even the small whispers had their cracks of highness.
Void Steve walked in after the new guy, who looked very worried for some reason. Void Steve looked like he was worried himself. I raised an eyebrow, and I began to move my arms around to try and get my question to them.
It took me a minute to sit up in the bed to where my back rested against the head of the bed. I just began to make movements while I lipped my question. I did what I would do if I was able to talk, but of course, I want able to talk.
"Uh... why are we all here?" Mary asked trying to interrupt what I was saying. I slammed my hands against my legs to, basically say, "Really?" She shrugged her shoulders.
"Um... are you asking what's with the room, because it's always been like this," Rainbow Steve guessed. I shook my head before covering my face in my hands. This showed my frustration. I heard the new guy sigh.
"No... he's asking what we were talking about and why we looked so worried right now," the new guy said. The room fell silent, but I still smiled widely and nodded my head enthusiastically.
"How did you know?" Galaxy Steve asked suspiciously. I tilted my head, showing I was wondering the same thing. He acted like my flailing around was making it obvious about what I was saying.
Void Steve said. The purple-blue haired guy hid behind Void Steve. My guess was that he was hiding from the others. He didn't want to face he people he's been trying to hurt for a while.
"What? That's Slade!" Alex exclaimed. Void Steve nodded his head.
Void Steve said. He pointed to me when he called me out. I just nodded my head. Slade came out from behind Void Steve so he could speak with us.
"Okay... yes, I am Slade. Please, don't call me that now. Slade was the person I was molded to be. It's not who I actually am. My name is Jake," he said. His last sentence was slowed down.
I slammed my hands down against the bed to get everyone's attention. All eyes landed on me afterwards. Jake looked to me with a slight bit of hope in his eyes. I smiled softly, and I felt my tears form in my eyes.
"Sabre? What's wrong?" Galaxy Steve asked. "Do you know him?"
I held my hands out and motioned for Jake to come over to me. He did. I looked into his eyes, and I remembered why he looked so familiar.
Before he could react, I pulled him into a tight hug. His breathing wavered for a moment when I did, but it became normal once he was there for a moment.
We pulled away, and he smiled at me even more.
"My name is Jake. Jake Favre. Sabre's brother," he said softly. Everyone, except for me, Void Steve, and Jake, gasped. "That was one thing I needed to tell you. The other is, I still have Sabre's powers within me. However, I don't really know how to give them back. When they were taken away, it wasn't really me. Th was controlling me. I wasn't able to see what the controlled me did. That's what I was mainly talking with Void Steve about. I thought he might have an idea about how to restore his powers to him."

I sighed a little, not that I was really heard. I couldn't really think of any way to restore my powers without a machine. I can't even build one in my state.
"And? What did you decide?" Rainbow Steve asked. His voice was so full of hope and worry. There seems to be a lot of that going around lately.
Void Steve explained. Jake nodded his head in agreement. 'That won't work.'
I hit my hand on the bed a few times to get their attention. I shook my head, trying to say it wouldn't work.
"He's saying that won't work. Why?" Jake asked. I held a finger up.
'Yep. I have your powers. So... I have the power of the mind.'
'That makes sense. So what should we do? You don't have any magic to retrieve the powers, so there is no way to give them back? I mean, your too weak to do anything.'
"That might work," Jake said with an approving smile. I smiled back and nodded my head.
Void Steve asked.
"Sabre said that powers like ours have special properties. We can't just willingly give them away. Our body has adapted to them, and it's something the body won't let go. However, it might cause some pain for us, but we can give small bits of magic to him. We just need to give enough to where he can talk. Then, he can tell us what to do, and we can build a machine to force the powers out of me and to him," Jake explained. I nodded my head.
"You got all of that from staring at each other?" Alex asked giving us a weird look.
"Well... I have Sabre's powers. I read his mind to hear what he had to say," Jake said with a slight laugh.
"Maybe it's best not to question them. They are brothers, and whatever they do is not worth questioning," Mary said while laughing her head off.
"HEY!" Jake exclaimed. I put my hands in my hips and glared at her. I sides with Jake on this one. "That's rude!"
"That's how me and Alex are. I know we're brother and sister, but we know people that are brothers. They aren't worth questioning what they know," Mary explained waving her hand a little. I crossed my arms and continued to glare at her.
Void Steve explained motioning is to wrap up whatever we were talking about. I nodded my head, as did the others.
"Me and Mary will stay off to the side since we have no powers," Rainbow Steve said as he walked to the other side of the room. Mary followed in pursuit.
After that, everyone surrounded my bed. Jake remained to my left. Void Steve and Galaxy Steve stood at the end of the bed. Finally, Alex stood to my right.
Alex's staff began to glow, signifying he was about to do something. The Steve's and Jake looked like they were ready to give whatever they were able to give as well. I gulped down the fear that got stuck in my throat.
Void Steve asked. I nodded my head. Void Steve nodded once again. It didn't take long for Alex's staff to shoot out a beam of light towards me. The same came from the other three, but no where near as strong.
They all combined as they entered my body. It burned. I felt a lot of pain got through my body, but it didn't last long. As quick as the pain came, it quickly left.

"Sabre? Are you okay?" Galaxy Steve asked hopefully. I blinked a few times.
"I... I... I think so..." I said. My voice wasn't as raspy as earlier, but still raspy from not talking for so long. I put my hand around my throat and smiled at the sound that came out. "I'm pretty sure it did! I can talk again!"
"AWESOME!" Jake exclaimed before pulling me into a tight hug. I laughed and hugged him back. Jake flinched a little before pulling away. Guilt covered his once smiling face. "Sorry... can you stand?"
I threw the covers off of me and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. My feet hurt as they touched the wooden floor. I flinched a little, but pushed the pain away. Slowly, I pushed myself off of the soft wool of the bed and onto the hard wooden floor. My legs shook at first, but I was able to stand without any support in no time.
"Yep! I don't know if I can build, or even do anything along the lines. However, I feel better. I can tell you what all you need to do to make a machine to restore my powers. Let's get to it!" I exclaimed happily. I was just really happy to be able to speak again.
We all headed outside to find an area to build this machine. I was pretty confused when I saw some weird looking antenna thing. I knew the others saw my confusion.
"We built that to help notify us when Ty was attacking... and Slade at the time," Alex explained pointing to it. I walked up to the antenna and mentally sighed.
"You guys better be happy everything happened when it did," I said examining the antenna.
"What do you mean?" Rainbow Steve asked as he walked closer. I stuck my hand out.
"Don't come any closer. I need to break some of this redstone. I don't know what will happen," I said looking at the redstone closely.
"Why?" Mary asked worryingly.
"Evil Sabre rigged this. If Ty or "Slade" came near this, it would explode. That was the so-called warning it would give. He planned to kill you guys with this," I explained before identifying which redstone I would break.
"WA?!" they all yelled in shock. I nodded my head.
"I mean... not surprising. He was evil after all," Rainbow Steve realized. The others, besides Galaxy Steve, nodded their heads in agreement.
"Okay... everyone, be quiet!" I whispered loudly as I got ready to break the antenna. Everyone fell silent, but I felt their eyes stare holes through me. I felt so much pressure on me.
Slowly, I bent down to the red dust and examined it from all sides. I bit my lips out of nervousness. I made sure the redstone I was about to break was the right one. I would hate it if I broke one that would activate a bomb or whatever.
"Screw it..." I mumbled. I took in a deep breath before breaking the redstone. I waited a moment to see if anything would blow up. After a few moments of silence, I sighed in relief. "There we go, and we're good!"
"Awesome job, Sabre!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed as he pulled me into a hug. The others cheered some.
"Heheh, thank you, Rainbow Steve. Now, let's get my powers restored. Then, I can make an actual antenna that will warn us when Ty comes," I said pushing Rainbow Steve off of me. I knew he wouldn't any time soon.
Everyone nodded their heads and grabbed the materials we might need.
"Okay, Rainbow Steve. You know what we use as bases in the machines, right? One gold block surrounded by iron blocks. We need two of those," I explained pointing to the general areas of where they would be. He nodded his head and began to make the bases.
It took a very long time, but we finally finished the machine. I finished connecting the redstone. It was the only thing I could do with the little strength I had.
"So... now what?" Galaxy Steve asked as he motioned to the machine.
The machine had two confinement areas that would lock whoever was standing on the gold block in place. It was surrounded in glass incase anything went wrong. A glass tube connected the two areas together.
"Well, I'll stand in one of them, while Jake stands in the other. After we are in place, one of you needs to flick the lever to lock us in. After that, you need to flick this lever. That one will activate the machine. If everything is right, it will extract the powers from Jake and transfer them to me," I explained. Jake didn't waste any time walking into one of the confinements.
I walked into the other and let out a deep sigh. I nodded my heads towards the others. Void Steve nodded before motioning Mary to go over to the other lever. He flicked the first one that locked us in place.
It was actually pretty painful. I couldn't move a single thing. Lightning spawned on Jake and me. It didn't hurt that much, or, at least, like it should've.
The lightning stopped, and Void Steve pointed to Mary and said something. I couldn't hear through the glass that well. Mary nodded her head before flicking the other lever.
More lightning spawned over Jake and me. This time, it was a lot more painful. However, I wasn't able to move or express my pain.
The pain died down, as did the lightning. I was able to move around once again. I broke some of the glass in front of me, so I could leave my confinement. Jake did the same with a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Yep! I feel your powers away fro-OH MY GOD!" Jake yelled. He faced me just before he yelled, so I was very confused. I looked to the others, who were staring eyes wide. Galaxy Steve and Rainbow Steve began to panic.
"Oh my gosh! Okay! We can fix this, right?!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed in a panic. I raised an eyebrow in my confusion.
"What? What's wrong?" I asked.
"Um... Sabre? Don't freak out, okay?" Jake said as he walked up to me. I tilted my head a little bit, showing my confusion.
"Okay?" I said questionably. Jake gulped, and the others walked up to us.
"So obviously you have your powers back... but-uh.... you see..." Galaxy Steve stuttered. I growled a little bit.
"Spit it out already!" I exclaimed.
"YOUR FACE IS COVERED IN ELEMENTAL MARKINGS!" Jake yelled suddenly. I blinked a few times.
"What?!"
