《More Than You Realize》Chapter 31: Trust Is Earned, Not Bought

Finally! I'll be back to my normal self! I can't believe I even forgot about my friends and brother the way I did. Honestly, I feel really bad about it. I can't dwell on that right now.
"Well... this might be a problem..." Kylie mumbled as she tug through some cabinets in her house. I felt a little form in my stomach.
"What?" I asked worryingly. "What could be a problem?"
"ENCHANTMENT!" she yelled angrily. The book that appeared randomly earlier came flying into the room.
"Yes, Kylie?" it spoke with a slight bow movement.
"Did you restock like I asked you to?" Kylie asked with her hands in her hips. The book moved like it was shaking its head no.
"I haven't had the time yet. Why? Is there some importance of needing required materials?" it asked. I don't think it saw us yet. Kylie glared at the book.
"Yes. You need better riddles. Some people have come for my help. Aging? Does that sound familiar to you?" Kylie asked gesturing to us. The book turned so that the pages faced us.
"Oh my. I didn't figure you would find us just yet," the book said.
"Well, they did. Now, I don't have all the ingredients I need to change Sabre back to normal!" Kylie said angrily.
"Well... I shall take my leave now. I am on my way to gather so said materials," the book spoke before disappearing into a magical dust. Kylie sighed.
"I'm sorry, but it seems as though you will have to wait until I can get the proper ingredients to restore Sabre. I don't know how long that will be, though," Kylie said. I sighed a little bit.
"Don't worry, it's not your fault. I probably should've gone myself," she said turning back to her cabinets. "I have some ingredients, but not enough to complete the potion I need."
"Well... we can wait!" Jake exclaimed happily.
"Probably not the best idea to wait any longer..." an all to familiar voice said. We all snapped our heads behind us. I instantly got scared. I still can't do much in the form I'm in.
"T-Tyler..." Jake stuttered as he backed away, me in his arms. Void Steve stepped in front of us.
Void Steve said dangerously. The evil figures laughed.
"Ooh... I'm shaking in fear. I just can't imagine what you'll do to me!" the male laughed. Ty joined in on his laughter.
Void Steve said. Ty and the guy continued to laugh.
"What can you do? Summon lightning that won't affect a stronger being? Use corrupted magic on corrupt people? You know, two negative cancel each other out, and what's Sabre going to do? Blast me with kiddy dust? That's about all he can do," the guy stated. I had to admit. He had a point, even though it hurt me as well.
"HEY! I can do other things!" I proclaimed. 'What am I saying! I can't uphold to that!'
Suddenly, the entity disappeared, then reappeared in front of Jake and me. Jake flinched back, taking me with him, of course.

"Oh... I highly doubt that, Sabre," he said tauntingly. I glared at him, and I tried to do something. However, it seemed as if my powers were frozen in my body. "The closer you are to me, the less of a chance your powers will work. Trust me, I'm the one who put you this way. I know everything about the effects."
"L-Leave me alone..." I stuttered snuggling into Jake.
"Pathetic..." the hooded figure said before teleporting back to Ty.
"How about you just give us what we want, and we will be on our way," Ty said with a smirk. His demon wings stretching out before closing back behind him.
"Whatever you want, you won't get it!" Jake yelled holding me closer. Ty smirked before snapping his fingers. I didn't really know what it did. Nothing seemed to happen. "WHAT DID YOU DO!"
Void Steve yelled. I looked between the two. Neither moved.
"I can't move!" Jake exclaimed.
"You froze them!" I yelled forcing my way out of Jake's arms.
"Of course. It's so much easier when they can't move," Ty said while making his way towards me. I backed up.
"Kylie!" I yelled looking back. However, I didn't see her. "SHE LEFT!"
"Don't worry, Sabre. This won't take long," the evil guy said. I backed up before hitting the wooden wall behind me. I felt my fear rise once again.
"SABRE! DRINK THIS!" Kylie yelled handing me a potion.
"Where did you go?" I asked her as she shoved the bottle in my hands.
"Doesn't matter. Drink it. It will get you back to normal," she said taking the top off of the bottle. I looked up to her. I narrowed my eyes. Something didn't seem right. "Sabre! Quick!" She pointed to the approaching figures. I decided to ignore the feeling of untrustworthiness.
I chugged the strange liquid. As soon as it was all gone from the bottle, I began to cough. It tasted like crap. Suddenly, I wasn't able to move. It was like my limbs were frozen, that I was paralyzed.
"Wh-what was that..." I asked looking at Kylie out of the corner of my eye.
"I-I'm sorry..." she mumbled burying her head in her hands. I would've flinched if I wasn't basically frozen in place.
"WHAT?!" I yelled.
I felt a cold hand run a hand through my hair, forcing my hood off of my head. I saw Ty looking down at me and smirking.
"G-get away!" I yelled trying my hardest to move out of my current position. He ignored me, and continued to mess with my hair before pulling another potion out. My eyes went wide. "I said... GET AWAY!"
A burst of energy erupted from my body. Ty and the being were sent back and against the wood behind them. They actually hit it hard enough to break through it. My body moved up and down with my breathing. That was the only thing that was moving. My other limbs were still frozen.
Jake and Void Steve were able to break free from their frozen state. They ran over to me, trying to shake me out of mine. After a few minutes, I was able to move again. The first thing I did was glare at Kylie.

"Why. Did. You. Do. That!" I yelled. She flinched, and tears began to stream down her face.
"I-I'm sorry! They forced me to!" she yelled.
"HOW!" I yelled back. She sobs turns into choked hiccups.
"They said they would kill everyone I knew. Then, they said they would kill you guys and your group. I-I can't stand the thought of knowing people could be hurt by my decisions!" she yelled. More tears streamed down her face.
"How long?" I asked coldly.
"You... you don't wanna know," she replied as she collapsed to the floor.
"HOW LONG!" I yelled. Jake and Void Steve grabbed my shoulders, forcing me to stay away from her.
"A few years I've been working with the guy. He threatened from the day I met him. Ty began working with him recently. When Ty came into the mix, that's when they mentioned you, and what they planned to do with... well... younger Sabre," she explained bringing her knees to her chest. I narrowed my eyes, and her faint aura was able to be seen.
"Light blue for truth..." I said out loud. She looked up to me with a raised eyebrow.
"Wh-what?" she asked.
"Your aura doesn't lie. Everything you just said was the truth," I explained. A small smile danced across her tear stained face.
"Sabre... I'm sorry. How could you ever forgive me?" she asked standing back up. I laughed.
"I don't know if you've realized, but we're a forgiving group," I laughed gesturing to the two with me. "Jake use to be a person named Slade who worked for Ty at one point. He kept trying to control me. Void Steve use to try to kill me until he realized who I was and the danger we were in, and I myself wasn't the best person beforehand."
"Really?" she asked, not quite convinced.
Void Steve said. I looked back to him with a smile.
"I think that's the first time you've actually said we're friends. I mean, you've heard me consider us friends, but I don't think you've ever come out and say that," I said. (And maybe he did... I can't remember🤪)
The dark red of a blush made its way on his face. He looked away, not wanting to face me. All of us, except Void Steve of course, laughed at him.
"Kylie... I have returned. Did I miss something?" the Book of Enchantment spoke as it came through the door.
"Oh, Enchantment. You missed quite a bit," Kylie said in her small fit of laughter.
"I will not question it..." the book said as it disappeared. Kylie picked up the dropped ingredients. She looked down to me and showed my the bag.
"You ready to get back to normal?" she asked. I looked at her like she should already know the answer, and she did. "That was a dumb question."
The rummaged through the bag of materials the book had gathered while it was out. She grabbed a few things out of the bag and placed them neatly on the table, along with things she had dragged out before.
I kind of lost track of what she was doing after she was running around tossing items in cauldrons. The three of us watched her as she continued to run around her house to make this potion.
"Aaaaaand... IT'S DONE!" she exclaimed holding a green potion in the air. It looked disgusting.
"Do I really have to drink that..." I asked backing away a little bit. She laughed.
"Of course you do, silly. A splash potion would affect everyone surrounding you. We can't have everyone aging like that," Kylie laughed shoving the bubbly potion in my hands. I looked at it, very hesitant to drink it. I didn't want to have the leave a nasty taste. "Do you wanna 16 again?"
"Yeah... but I'd rather not have this strange liquid go into my body," I said smelling the green stuff. It smelled like crap. I flinched away from the smell.
"It will be over and done with, though," Kylie said. "Besides, at least, not to my knowledge, there is no other way to get back to your normal age unless you wait 10 years."
I looked at the bottle again. I took in a deep breath before letting it all out. Then, before anyone else could breath or blink, I began to chug the bottle. I winced as the liquid went down my throat.
After I finished the bottle, I threw it to the ground. It broke into a million small pieces of glass. I coughed a little bit, and small amounts of the left over liquid spat out with my cough.
I was met with the black abyss after a few seconds of coughing.
A bright light engulfed Sabre as he collapsed to the ground. All three of us had to cover our eyes from the blinding light. It took a few minutes, but the light, finally, began to die back down.
I was able to move my hand, which was blocking my face, away from my eyes. I let a smile make its way to my lips. I saw the Sabre I knew the most. The 16 year old Sabre lie on the ground.
He groaned a little bit as he began to sit back up.
"Wh-what happened?" he asked as he fully sat up. Immediately, I engulfed my little brother in a hug. This took him by surprise. "Woah! Wasn't expecting that!"
"YOU'RE BACK TO NORMAL!" I exclaimed in his ear. He winced a little bit and covered his ears. "Whoops... sorry."
"It's fine, dude. Am I really back to normal?" he asked looking down to himself. A smile danced across his face. "I'm back to normal!"
We all laughed, and Void Steve joined in our hug. Next, the long trail back to the house...
