《More Than You Realize》Chapter 35: Flashing Memories

I couldn't believe the sight in front of me. One of my ex-best friends was standing here. He was still just as evil as before, apparently. I felt small tears prick at the corners of my eyes.
"Sp-Spency... h-how... w-why..." I stuttered running a hand through my hair.
Void Steve asked as the energy he was charging disappeared.
"Wow... you never told them about your past life?" Spency mocked.
"I told them I was an assassin, but I never said much more than that," I mumbled.
"YOU KNEW THIS GUY!" Ty yelled angrily. I glared at him.
"I knew him when I was younger. I didn't know this was him now!" I yelled.
"Hold up hold up hold up!" Alex exclaimed. "Care to explain who he is, and how you know him?" I let out a reluctant sigh.
"Spency and I use to be friends back when I was an assassin. He saved my life from the Templars, and made sure I recovered," I explained. Spency cut me off after that.
"And I made sure you were okay for the longest time. Colleen and I tried so hard to find your mother. What did we get in return? WE GOT CASTED ASIDE!" Spency yelled as he took a sword out. He slashed it at me. I dodged and made my own sword out of electricity.
"YOU KNEW I WASN'T IN THE RIGHT MINDSET! I WAS MAD!" I yelled while blocking another attack. "I TRIED TO APOLOGIZE! ONLY COLLEEN LISTENED TO ME!"
"Because I was mad! You betrayed me after everything I did for," he said slashing once again.
"You kidnapped Lucas and beat the living crap out of him," I replied blocking the attack.
"He knew the whereabouts of your mom you fool," he said trying to push me down.
"Plot twist, that wasn't my mom. She was dead long before that!" I yelled getting a sudden burst of strength. I pushed him to the ground, but he quickly recovered.
"Oh, I know that now. I know all about you, thanks to Ty. He caught me up on so much. And, yet, I'm still pissed at you," Spency said before chucking his sword at me. I deflected it easily.
"I said I was sorry for saying I didn't want your friendship. I said sorry when you were with the League. I tried to beg you not to kill my "mom", Lucas, OR Colleen because I was sorry for casting you aside! And you call me a traitor! You betrayed me!" I yelled before attacking him.
"Only because you betrayed me first," he responded before rolling over to his sword.
"It wasn't much of a betrayal as it was me saying I didn't want you two by my side anymore," I said before launching some water at him.
"I trusted you that you would never leave me. That we would stay by each other's side, but you see that didn't work out," Spency said as he dodged my attack.

"Spency... can we not put this behind us? We both made mistakes, and we can fix them. Let's just... put this behi-" I began before getting cut off.
"I WILL NEVER PUT WHAT YOU DID BEHIND ME!" he yelled. I flinched.
He began to summon a ball of energy in his hands. My eyes went wide from shock. I backed away.
"H-how did you get powers?" I asked nervously. He smirked before launching it at me. I didn't have time to react. The energy hit me in the chest, and forced me into the air and back onto the ground. I groaned in pain. My chest was burning.
"SABRE!" Jake yelled as he rushed to my side.
"Sabre is done for. He will suffer for the pain he caused me. He will never be forgiven for EVERYTHING HE DID TO M-" his pain must've cut him off. Everyone around me gasped. Spency looked down to his stomach area, and he watched as the blood stained his clothing.
"You should've learned from him, then. You just can't trust anyone, now can you?" Ty growled as he pulled his sword out of Spency. He held the wound in pain before falling on his knees.
Void Steve said painfully. I got up and onto my feet. If I knew Spency, this wasn't it.
"You FOOL! I CAN'T BE DEFEATED!" Spency yelled before holding hand out to Tyler. He was tossed backwards and into a wall.
"Let me guess... Silence is still alive..." I mumbled while struggling to hold my balance. Spency laughed before getting back up on his feet. The blood stain was gone; probably had something to do with his new powers.
"Of course not. But I have only one mission. My mission, is to bring you to my boss so he can personally finish you off," Spency said. He grabbed something from his pocket and threw it down on the ground. Smoke filled the room quickly.
I brought my arm up to my nose and began to cough what I had already inhaled. I couldn't see a thing through the thick smoke. All I could hear was the others coughing.
"Gu...guys... are y...you all... ok...ay..." I said in between coughing. I felt something grab my shoulder. I looked over to see Spency with a mask over his mouth and nose. I wiggled away from him, and I disappeared into the smoke.
I was trying to find someone besides Spency or Ty. However, it felt like I was gong in small circles. I couldn't find anyone. It was like they all just disappeared!
"You can't hide, Elan~" Spency's voice whispered. I snapped my head to where I heard his voice from, only to have something hit the back of my head. It hurt like actual hell.
I grabbed my head in pain. I could only hear ringing in my ears. I didn't even notice when I collapsed to the floor until my knees began to ache.

"Let's go, Spency. Grab Sabre, and let's finish what we started," I heard a voice say. I didn't know that voice. This must be the dreadful voice that turned Spency into who he is today. My vision turned into a black abyss before I could see this new boss of Spency.
My eyes were heavy, but I was able to open them. I was meet with a somewhat bright light entering my eyes; making me close and open my eyes again. It took a few blinks to get my eyes adjusted to the light. Finally, I was able to do so.
"Wh-what?" I asked myself hoarsely. My voice was still raw from going a while without talking.
"Ah... you're awake, Sabre," I heard someone comment as he came into my view. Spency came up to my other side. My eyes went wide, and I tried to get up. I realized there were chains pinning me to the ground. "Hook him to the wall."
"Care to introduce me to this new villain?" I asked as Spency walked over. He stopped where he was and looked back to the male.
"Ah, yes. Meet Krill. He was the one who found me after you first betrayed me. He took me in again after I tricked you into believing I was the good guy, and he showed me a thing or two about magic and the wretched Steve's," Spency said as he continued to walk over to my chained figure.
"What about Silence? I thought you worked for him!" I yelled, struggling against the metal restraints. He gave me a smirk.
"Krill will explain everything later on. I hate explaining my reasons, actions, and even my past. You should know that, Sabre. You've known me for quite some time," Spency said.
Spency uncuffed one wrist, and immediately grabbed onto it so I wouldn't run. He got the cuff off of my other wrist and began to drag me backwards. My hood to my chicken onesie fell off of my head in the process.
I felt more cold metal clamp around both of my wrists; making me groan from the freezing metal. I glared at the two villains of mine.
"You tried to forget your past, didn't you? Well, Sabre, you can never escape the pain and suffering you cause others," Spency tainted as he grabbed a sword from a counter in the room. My eyes went even wider than before, and I began to pull on the chains connected to the wall. "How about we make you feel the same pain."
"Sp-Spency! You don't want to do this!" I pleaded watching as the sword shined in the light. He let out a laugh before poking the tip of the weapon into my side. It was just barely on my skin, but I could feel the metal poking through my onesie and a little bit into my skin.
"Don't tease him, Spencer. Just do what you need to do," Krill said as he left the room. Spency let a smirk creep across his pale face. His eyes glowed with insanity.
"Spenc-AH!" I yelled as he jabbed the sword through some skin. It didn't get much, but it probably couldn't be fixed with stitches. I looked at Spency through my tear filled eyes. "P-please... don't d-do this. I-I'm sorry f-for the p-p-pain I caused you... and Colleen. W-we can fix i-it."
"There's nothing to fixing what you did, Elan," Spency growled lowly as he yanked the sword out of me. "Oh... and another thing..."
"Don't! Please, Spency! No!" I yelled before letting out a loud cry of pain as he shoved the sword back into my side.
"Don't. Call. Me. Spency," he said evilly. "It's Spencer. Spencer Rock."
I thought the smoke was from Spency's smoke bomb, but it lingered for too long. They had actually set the whole building on fire! We all tired to fan the smoke away, and we were able to do so. Of course, smoke still lingered, but it wasn't near as bad as it was.
"There! Let's get out!" I yelled once I could see everyone. Before we could all get out, a loud coughing interrupted us. I looked back to see a struggling Tyler trying to navigate his to the door by crawling. I don't think he had the strength to walk at the moment. "Go! I'll get Ty!"
"ARE YOU CRAZY!" Galaxy Steve protested. I laughed and nodded my head. I ran over to Tyler.
My eyes went wide as the sight in front of me unfolded. This can't be good. The ground shook as the ceiling began to collapse on top of it. There I was; I was stuck with Ty.
"WE CAN CHANGE THIS! COME WITH ME, TYLER!" I yelled extending my scratched up arm out to Ty. Void Steve was pulling everyone away from the scene. I think he was the only one who trusted me and me knowing my limits.
Void Steve yelled.
"No! We have to help him!" I heard Kylie yell as more of the ceiling fell around me and Ty. Suddenly, someone ran out and next to me as I looked back to Tyler and his tear filled eyes.
The person was moving too quick to tell who it was with all of the smoke around. They ran up next to Ty and began to force him towards me. I watched closely as Tyler made his way over to my hand. Ty squeezed his eyes closed, then took my hand.
I could only see the small smile the person gave before the ceiling collapsed.
"RAINBOW STEVE!" Galaxy Steve yelled loudly.

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
