《More Than You Realize》Chapter 40: Relical Quest

"Kylie? Why do you need so many potions?" Galaxy Steve asked. Kylie puffed her cheeks out at him.
"You never know what we could get into! For all you know, we may need these to get into... wherever we're going!" Kylie protested. Galaxy Steve held up his hands in defense.
"Okay, okay! I was just asking!" he defended. I couldn't help but laugh a the two.
"Galaxy Steve... it's better not to question anything that happens in this group; unless it's yourself," I said tossing my own bag over my shoulders.
"So I've noticed..." Galaxy Steve grumbled under his breath.
Void Steve said as he began walking out the door with me.
The others soon followed in pursuit.
😂
Okay, five hours of walking, four arguments total, 3 complaints about wanting to stop, 2 people already annoyed, and 1 full night of no sleep. Sounds about right.
"MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE MORE OPTIMISTIC!" Mary yelled at her brother once again. Okay, 5 arguments total. Man, they messed up my countdown sequence! It's suppose to go 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Not 5, 5, 3, 2, 1!
"REALLY?! THIS IS COMING FROM YOU!" Alex yelled back. They actually ended up stopping to continue their fight.
"Just leave them. They know the map," I said as I continued to walk.
Void Steve grumbled. I shrugged my shoulders.
"According to my knowledge, about one every hour," I said dodging a tree.
"I don't know how much more I can take of their fighting," Ty grumbled.
"Are," Void Steve and I said at the same time.
Kylie was minding her own business. She wasn't talking much at all.
"Kylie? Are you okay?" I asked. She flinched a little bit. She was obviously in thought.
"O-oh! Y-yeah! I'm fine!" she stuttered. I raised an eyebrow. She was hiding something. I was about to say something before her mouth dropped open.
I looked forward. We had come face to face with a huge mountain. At the base of the mountain, there was a wide opening to a cave.
"Is this where the Relical Orb is?" Mary asked. Alex and her came up beside of me. They wouldn't look at each other, and the expression on their face screamed angry.
"I think so. This is where the map leads, so..." Galaxy Steve mumbled.
"Well, let's go find this orb," I said before beginning to walk in.
"I wouldn't do that!" an angry voice boomed from the cave.
"What the-" Alex mumbled in shock.
Void Steve yelled.
"The quest for the Relical Orb you seek lies far beyond what you face in this cave. Not only that, the quest is a dangerous one. You 8 will not be able to complete such a quest as this!" the voice boomed again.
"Who are you! Show yourself, you coward!" Jake yelled into the cave. His voice echoed throughout the cave.
"Who I am is of no importance! Leave before danger strikes you down!" the voice boomed before a loud crash came from inside the cave. I looked down to the map with a slight glare before looking into the cave.

"No random voice will keep me away from saving this world. I'm going in," I said before walking into the cave.
"I' cmnwtyu!" Jake and Void Steve said at the same time. They looked at each other before looking back to me.
"Okay, but stay safe," I said as I continued to walk on in. The two ran to catch up to, and they skidded to a halt as they were next to me.
We wonder aimlessly for what felt like hours now, but I knew better than to actually think that.
"I can hardly see in here..." Jake mumbled.
Void Steve asked hopefully.
"Kind of. At the same time, I don't want to use my powers to light the place up. I don't know what/who that voice was, but I'm not taking the risk of you guys getting hurt," I said feeling a nearby wall.
"That's my brother Sabre. In other words, if we weren't here, you would light this place up?" Jake asked slyly. I chuckled a little bit at his response.
"Maybe..." I said "innocently".
"Please stop being such a dare devil," Jake said seriously. I shook my head, not that he could really see.
"No can do, Jake. Danger is the path to saving others. If I'm not a dare devil at times, I won't be able to protect anyone I care about," I replied.
"You!" the same voice from before boomed again. We all stopped in our tracks.
Void Steve yelled. A strong wind coursed through the small passage. I had to cover my eyes. I felt my hood fall off of my head and begin bouncing in the wind.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake. I uncovered my eyes since the wind had stopped. Jake, Void Steve, and I all looked at each other before the ground shook again. It was like large feet stomping on the ground.
I saw Jake look up in complete fear. Void Steve followed his gaze and did the exact same thing. I guess it was my turn. I looked over to what they were looking at, only to come face to face with some sort of dragon. I felt my heart drop to my feet, and my blood ran cold. I could just feel my skin go pale.
The dragon opened its mouth and roared right in my face. I closed my eyes, but I didn't move any limbs to cover myself. I was too scared to move anything besides my eyelids.
Once the dragon stopped roaring, I opened my eyes. It huffed a large bit of smoke in my face. I began to couch the little bit that went into my mouth.
"Wh-who are you?" I asked in between coughs.
The dragon's eye twitched, and they readjusted their position; I guess to get more comfortable. The nose of the dragon began to move as it roamed around my body. I think... it was sniffing me?
Void Steve mumbled. The dragon's head snapped up and glared at Void Steve.
"SILENCE!" the dragon roared loudly. It was so loud and powerful, that it caused Jake and Void Steve to be sent flying back.

The dragon looked back to me. I didn't show the fear that consumed me.
"Who are you is the real question!" the dragon exclaimed. Their breath smelled horrible...
"I'm Sabre. The two you just threw back are with me. That's Void Steve, one of my great friends. The other is Jake, my brother," I explained calmly. Inside, I was screaming and going in a full blown panic.
"What makes you think you can find the Relical Orb?" the dragon sneered. I gulped a little bit, but I tried to make it unnoticeable.
"I want to protect this world from Krill. This orb is the only way I can do so," I explained. "He wants to destroy this world, but I want to save it. I can't do it without this orb."
"Only those worthy can find the orb. Only those with special abilities can find such an orb. Tell me, why should I help you find the orb?" the dragon sneered once again. Okay, I was starting to get sick of this beast. I need to let that show.
"You listen here!" I yelled stomping towards the dragon. They flinched a little bit and actually took some steps back! "My father hid that orb! I need to find it to save those I care about, and to carry on what I promised to those I've already lost! I'm not leaving this place until I get this orb!"
Everything fell silent. I could only hear my labored breathing. The dragon stared at me in pure shock. It's head came down to mine as Void Steve and Jake ran back up to me. They tried to pull me away, but I didn't budge.
"You are Hitar's son?" the dragon questioned. I nodded my head before looking over to Jake.
"Jake is my brother. We are both the sons of Hitar Frave," I said. The dragon looked back to Jake, and then to Void Steve.
"But he is of no association with Hitar," the dragon said standing back up tall. I glared a little bit.
"He's considered family in my book," I declared. The dragon stood quiet for a moment.
"The orb is not here," the dragon replied. I flinched.
"What!" I yelled in pure shock and anger. "I thought we were getting somewhere!"
"We are. The Relical Orb doesn't lie here. I can tell you three truly want to help this world. If this Krill comes by, I will tell him differently. I will tell you the location of the orb you seek is. It lies in a cave far away from here. On the other side of the world for that matter. Leave the cave and go straight. Don't turn or get off track. Continue like that, and you will come across the Village of Caves. If you are truly worthy of finding the Relical Orb, it will call out to you from the entrance of the right cave," the dragon said before turning around. It began to walk away.
The three of us stood in silence. What was there to say? We watched until the dragon fully disappeared from sight. The ground stopped shaking.
Void Steve spoke up after a few more extra seconds of silence.
"Yeah... it really was..." Jake agreed. I could hear the slight fear that remained in his voice.
"Let's get out of here. We need to find the orb," I said before walking past them. I could tell they were a little upset with my decision. I laughed and turned my head back to face them. "After we rest, that is. It's been a long day. Besides, you heard what the dragon said. They would guide Krill the wrong way."
Void Steve joker before walking closer to me. Jake followed him in pursuit.
"Don't worry! We will all be just fine; watch!" I exclaimed happily.
We trudged our of the cave after 23 wrong turns, yes I counted. The others stood outside anxiously. They all jumped from their positions and rushed over to us as we left the cave.
"Did you find it?"
"Where's the orb!"
"Was there anything scary in there?"
"What happened! There was a loud roar!"
"Don't leave any details out! Tell the whole story!"
Void Steve yelled angrily. Everyone fell silent at his outburst.
"I will explain later. For now, let's set up a campsite. We all need rest before the sun rises," I said walking past our group. looked back to make sure everyone was following. They were, but they were all slow. Everyone was questioning Void Steve and Jake now. I could see the annoyed looks on their faces.
There was nothing I could do besides tell them to wait patiently. By the way, that didn't work. They still kept pushing Jake or Void Steve or even me for answers to their questions.
We all have them the same response over and over. Whoops... watch out. I began to walk off track of this straight line the dragon wanted us to walk in.
Finally, we came to a pretty open area in this straight path. I placed down sticks to form an arrow in the direction we needed to go in once we were awake.
"Why are you placing sticks down?" Galaxy Steve asked as he breathed on my neck. I jumped away from him in shock.
"Galaxy Steve! Don't do that! You scared me man!" I scolded before directing my attention back to his question. "These sticks will help tell us where we need to go in the morning. I'll explain later, but something in there told us to continue straight."
"Uh..." Galaxy Steve mumbled. "I just... won't question that for now."
Void Steve said climbing into a tent with Jake. Jake rolled his eyes slightly, but it was in a jokingly manner.
"You're with us, by the way," he said climbing in after Void Steve. I laughed, and followed the two males into the tent.
